I just recently got hooked on this series. Has anyone pointed out that the hooded figure looks a lot like the Engineers from Prometheus as well as the star map with the three moons? Also the serpent is reminiscent of the face hugger and earlier forms of the creatures from Aliens.

With season 2 just out I couldn't remember much of season 1, glad I found this. Thank you!

I was interested to see how the season ended, but not enough to keep sitting through the episodes... I think this series was a great concept with a ton of potential that collapsed under the weight of an excess of religious metaphors at the expense of an engaging and coherent narrative...

One thing never really explained which has always perplexed me is why in this advanced society do almost all the characters have incredibly bad haircuts? Seriously, it looks like they have all had their haircuts done by rabid baboons with razor blades duct taped to their hands.

There's two Campions? I'm confused.... who hacked Mother? And whose the little kid she initially was looking after?

I think the voice is mostly an AI somehow being able to influince biological beings mentally. Mother and Father have never heard the voices untill she get's hooked up in to that maschine. I think the AI learned how to influince Mother and Father after that and after she was impregnated with a half biological/half robotic creature. When that happened the voice started influincing humans with information Mother knew. The voice also seems to have more reach (not just around certain alien structures), so either mother became some sort of conductor or her snakebaby is also a (different) voice. Also I think the hooded figure is some sort of native "Atheist". He tried to kill her before she gave birth to the creature, but clearly kept an eye on them for a long time before feeling the need to intervene

There's no such thing as "devolving". Evolution - means the CHANGE of a population over time. So if a human population after some time looks like those creatures, that means they EVOLVED (changed) so over time.
