The Altima is getting some BIG changes for 2023 from Nissan. On the outside you will discover 19in wheels, new front fascia and grill. On the inside there are some new materials and a massive 12.3in infotainment screen. Under the hood is a 2.5L inline-4 that produces 188HP. Is the NEW 2023 Nissan Altima a BETTER sedan to BUY than a Toyota Camry?

I had a 2008 and a few months ago I got a very slightly used 2023 with 6,000 miles. I drive a few hundred miles a day. Love my nissan altima. My last had 177,000 miles on it and I bet it would have been able to reach 250,000-300,000 easily. So far my new one seems just as reliable. My new and old were both automatic baseline models.

Personally, I like the Altima. I know a lot of people complain about Nissan’s CVT being unreliable but my wife’s Altima has almost 300k miles with the original CVT. I know it’ll be time for a new car but I think that’s impressive and definitely a testament to Nissan’s reliability if you take car of the vehicle.

Just picked up my 2023 gray sky pearl 2.0 sr turbo. Very impressed. The cvt doesn't bother me and in sport mode this car picks up and takes off. Love the infotainment system and bose sound. The only zonk for me is when you use the camera system it only utilizes half the screen. I think its a waste not to utilize the entire 12.3.

For all those yowling about the CVT... in normal daily driving, it does just fine and it returns stellam mpg. I have a 2015 Altima with almost 203,000 miles on it - bought it new in July 2015 - and the CVT has been flawless. I change the CVT fluid every 50k miles and have always been a maintenance maven. The only unscheduled repair I've ever had was to replace the front right axle. I still get almost 38 MPG on the highway and 30 mpg combined city / highway. On long trips, a full tank of gas will take me almost 700 miles and that's with me averaging between 70-80 mph. Now, I wish I could get the Altima SR with a proper manual transmission. That would be an instant sale.

Digging the new Altima looks better wish did something with the taillights I knew for 2023 Nissan was going to give the Altima makeover did a excellent job only thing taillight housing should had been new optional. Still definitely fine with the CVT also love the Deep blue pearl color and front end is amazing makes it look more appealing my opinion the Altima is now highest initial midsize car though the Camry might last longer got to give the Altima credit same goes to Nissan they are doing real excellent job on the new lineups wish manufacturers still used manuals think this trim level should had came with a 9 nine speed automatic now really love the Altima.

Look at the Chinese version of the Altima. Looks way more premium than this American version. And it has beautiful rear led lights. It also has really nice interior LED lighting.

No dual zone climate control or rear vents for $32,000! I typically defend Nissan since I lease two of their new redesigns, but that was a big misstep.

That's what happens in the sr trim for the 2.5. Sv trim gets those. For 32k I would spend just slightly more and get the SL.

It's nice enough. Priced ok. Some things I really like and some I don't. Great looking car. I would get this B4 getting a SUV or EV. Glad to see Nissan trying to bring good cars to market. Competition among manufacturers is good for the consumers. The V6 Camry is probably on its last year like the 2.0T is gone in the Accord. The VC turbo might be the best choice in 24.

It is a great looking car. If this had a normal Trans with the 240hp, I'd get this. As of now, a K5 or G70 is my next option. Specifically because of Honda screwing up the Accord & the discontinuation of the Stinger. In addition, the Altima will NEVER get 40 large from me.

I rented a Camry and a 2023 Altima back to back and drove them on the same roads. Somehow, the Altima has more personality, if you can call it that. I found the Altima's steering and ride to be about perfect on real California roads, and I beat the Camry's fuel economy by 6 mpg.
@mathisnotforthefaintofheart
@mathisnotforthefaintofheart Жыл бұрын
The Altima is more of a "drivers" vehicle than the bland Camry. That said, the Camry also offers a hybrid, which is a tad quicker than the regular four banger AND is has a much better fuel economy. In this day and age with gas prices fluctuating so much, if you are not ready for EV (and I would not recommend and EV at this moment), hybrid is a logical choice. My Camry hybrid gives me more than 50 mpg's and I don't care what the price of petrol is...I really don't. It's a minuscule part of my budget. Nissan's CVT is poor and they have no hybrid. Test drive the Camry as well as the new Accord hybrid and you will be utterly surprised that these cars aren't as "impersonal" as you think. A test drive always makes you an experience richer...

The Altima looks better this time around and is generally an okay car, but with the existence of the Accord and Camry I can't think of a single reason to buy this over the competition. I had to drive one of these recently as a rental and I could not stand how it drove. The CVT was my biggest complaint but the steering felt pretty terrible as well.

Fantastic looking car. Glad Nissan is shaking up their lineup. THIS is where the 11gen Accord should have gone. Also, you've zonk'd so many fake vents (rightfully so!), you'd think the manufacturers would have listened by now.

This Altima was just a small refresh. Literally all they did was change up the front grill, removed the fog lights, and added a larger infotainment screen. Other than that, this is the same design from 2019.
