The Escalade has a ton of competition for 2022. This Cadillac goes up against the Jeep Grand Wagoneer, BMW X7, and Lincoln Navigator. On t he outside of the Escalade Sport you will find a unique grill, black trim, 22in wheels, and electric running boards. On the inside you will be greeted by a full leather interior, 37in of screen, and Super Cruise. Under the hood is a 6.2L V8 that produces 420HP & mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. Having been in the Limo Biz, that isn't my "Dream Car". It's more of a WORK car. I had both Navs & Escalades in my fleet and this is how I see them. The Lincoln is classy and slick with a silky ride. With cocktails on board, that's kinda important. The Caddie handles better, has a stronger engine (good for limo stretching), and is certainly flashier. Negatives for the Nav is the weaker engine. Negative of the Escalade has the harsher, bouncier (coarse) ride. First time customers usually ask tor the Cadillac, regular customers always ask for the Navigator.

For the money, they should include cooled and massaging seats for the second row which the Navigator does. Kinda surprised no second or third row sunshades either.

Yea, but Ford is trying to give you some things to compensate for the dated interior and lesser technology. Does the Caddy really need an OLED dashboard? Probably not, but DAMN does it look the business compared to the Navi's basic set up.

@@jdb316 It wouldn't say it was cheap. It seems they chose practicality over luxury. I guess having better egress for passengers in the 3rd row for a vehicle which will more likely then others be used for Uber Blacks & other chauffuering services was a better idea.

So happy this is finally here. I have always loved Cadillac and the vehicles they produce, the last model was perfect and when they released this design model I was on the fence a little about it but I learned to love it. I would absolutely love one of these.

Looking way back I had a 2011 Escalade ESV that had a great burble on start up and idle, yet was quiet on the go. Masterpiece of exhaust engineering, loud and quiet at the right times. I notice the new ones are just quiet. It’s a V8! Let it rumble a bit.

I have the 2017 v8 Escalade and I can attest that it does go on throttle quick when you need it. I’m glad Cadillac carried on with the same v8 for the newest gen.

Glad you can bring this one to us Joe. Always wanted to see the Escalade, and I think it hits the nail on the luxury head. Lol. For the sheer size it's surprising how well it handles. 👍Anything you want or cam think of, the Escalade brings.( Except for entertainment system in back lol). I also you notice you like listening to the 80s channel Joe cause it seems like you always have SXM 80s on 8 ▶️ playing. 😊

I took delivery of my Escalade ESV three weeks ago, the ride is definitely better than my 2021 GMC Yukon Denali, and way better than the last generation of Escalade.

BTW the super cruise works quite well. Those 36 speakers offer the best sound system I have seen in a car.

i work in the car rental industry and after driving a escalade and navigator i definitely would purchase an escalade because there in a similar price bracket you get so much more luxury and just better with the escalade now now if you wanted to be cheaper then escalade a jeep wagoneer if i spelled that right is also very nice the grand wagonner is just overkill the regular one fully loaded is just enough. But that’s just my take on it after driving all three.

I can give my take on owning a navigator. It is according to me more fuel efficient. Extremely spacious like the caddy. It is slightly low on tech compared to the caddy but the drive and the over all experience of the car Is superb. Caddy offers more tech but I think the navigator is still a sexy choice.

I would hands down take the Cadillac Escalade over the Lincoln Navigator, although it would be a tough decision between the Escalade and the new Range Rover that just came out.

Hey Raitis can you compare 22 navi black label vs 22 cadi platinum and 22 GW series 3 L versions (navi & cadi) and give your true opinion, especially on ride quality of all 3.

I have driven both multiple times. For caddy, better dash, rear view mirror camera, cooled and heated cup holders and better suspension (air); for Navi(BL) , much more responsive engine + power + acceleration, larger third row with power recline , much better HUD, 2nd row has heated, cooled and message and fit and finish was far better than caddy. Got the 22 navigator and deciding factor was power, third row and interior quality. Caddy seems to be less roomy compared to navi. If caddy “V” was available, I would have seriously considered it.

I love the Escalade ever since the GMT-400 came out. This red looks insane, and, believe it or not, I saw not one but two Escalades with the 3.0L Duramax Diesel engine on the freeway!

The Escalade is huge and looks better than the Navigator inside and out. I haven't looked at the Grand Wagoneer. Why? It's a Jeep...and I don't want to drive anything called a Wagoneer. Just saying. I'd choose the BMW X7 over the Escalade and Navigator because it is a little smaller, more power, and still has luxury. If I wanted something huge, the Escalade would be one of my picks. The function of the headlights on the Escalade are nice, plus the inside color lighting. A nighttime review of this one made me fall in love with it, but I have no need for something so big. It would make me feel like I was driving an RV around town. However, it is very nice.

Minor feedback: OLEDs don't have better resolution, they have better contrast. You can get deeper blacks than LCDs.

One thing I’m super disappointed is that the car only has 3 zone climate, two in front one in the entire rear seat, that’s terrible, at least it should have been 4. BMW x7 has 5 climate zones. Two front to mid rear and one in very back seat

Joe, remember the Acura SUV SLX and the first Lexus LX 1997 and Range Rover went full luxury in mid to late 1995 or so… better trims other than the wood-veneer would be great and the steering wheel looks cheap. I drove one and arm rest feel like sand paper it’s not butter smooth like the new LX. On the plus I like way the screen is integrated to the dash and hard buttons below the screen and the white interior seats.

I'm in the market for either the Escalade or Navigator short wheel base. I don't like the attention getting speaker, too juvenile for me. Too much dash tech for my taste. I do like how the rear windshield wiper is hidden, very cool. I wish the Navigator had done it too. I like the Navigator buttons instead of the stick shift. Way more usable space and cleaner look. The 440hp on the navigator is excellent, I haven't tested the Escalade yet but I will. At this point I'm leaning more towards the Navigator.

It’s a nice car. The problem however is that of reliability. The 2021 model had a lot of problems with all that technology they have put in the car.

I agree with the reliability issue. It became an issue in my 2018 and I finally couldn't take it anymore and sold it. Do I miss it? TOTALLY, 100% But for the price it HAS to be reliable and the GDI engine is NOT as are many other things. I don't think you can compare the Navigator anymore since they popped a V6 engine in an ultra heavy truck and now you are not comparing apples to apples. If I win tonight's lottery I will order the V cause I'll be so rich at that point I won't care if it's reliable, I'll be able to afford fixing it. I still think aesthetically and for my personal taste it is the best looking SUV on the road ( period!) I might have to buy another one before I die.

My big Zonk is at this price-point, the second row seats should be all electric assist, as well as ventilated. I'm sure the reasoning for non-electrical seats is so they can bend and shove forward, but again at this price-point, the engineering should be there to make that happen. Same with the 3rd row seats lacking the full leather accents. If Lincoln has one thing that Cadillac doesn't, then Cadillac is losing the battle. Visually, it's a stunning SUV.

disabled the limiter on my honda odyssey minivan, GPS said 140 mph top speed, odysseys are so aerodynamic and their gearing makes them a BLAST to hit top speed
