I don’t understand why people care about a dash area being soft to the touch. I’ve personally been driving for around 15 years, and the only time I ever touched the dash is when I’m cleaning it. I just don’t understand why this is an issue. Great review as always though 👍

I appreciate your review of this S trim. Most videos on KZfaq are for the higher trim packages with the turbo and DCT transmission. Great to hear the basic 2.0L motor and CVT gets the job done for basic driving.

Prior to purchasing my 2021 Telluride, my wife purchased a Seltos S, white with the Cherry Black roof. She loves it and I must say I am extremely impressed with the fit and finish quality! Sue it doesn't have many of the options and leather the SX has but she didn't want a payment over $270.00, done! I'm 6 foot and find the seats really comfortable and it rides really well for the size and price point. Not to mention, she goes almost two weeks on a tank of gas, of course she works about 10 miles away. This is what lead me to looking at the Telluride for my SUV. Kia keeps hitting home runs for sure!

My hubby bought me a 2021 Kia Seltos SX. Best vehicle I ever owned and drove. Excellent handling and super comfortable. I got the limited edition Starburst yellow. I love hows its sporty and luxurious without the big price tag. Absolutely love it.

I own the Seltos "S" w/1.6 Turbo and 7 speed Dual Clutch trans, and I'm really happy with it. Has all the tech like lane keeping, auto front and rear collision avoidance, rear cross traffic detection, Android Auto and Apple car play and more.

Now i have to buy M&Ms and Twinkies.. Nice job, fun to watch and informative!

I drove it last week, I think you’re an excellent presenter especially in identifying the storage areas for the snacks and candies. The one I drove was the $29,000 top package lots of features but it’s 75 and 80 miles an hour on the interstate not real quiet, Mazda’s new CX 30 doesn’t have as many features but it is one comfortable quiet ride at 70 to 80 miles an hour. All cars feel and sound good 35 to 55 miles an hour. Another great review remember in your reviews quiet counts Comfort counts

Very thorough review. I'd watched a previous review on the top of the line Seltos. I also read Consumer Reports' review and it's not nearly as positive as yours. The magazine discusses engine noise filtering through the cabin as being annoying. Also, plastic panels. Persoanally, I believe Kia has a winner on its hands. I wanted to find out whether the Seltos does offer power seats but couldn't find the specs. In fact, I always have trouble navigating the website, especially when I want to build a model online. I don't know if it's me or the website isn't user friendly.

found your channel last week looking for a new car i absolutely love your reviews! I test drove this exact model (in white) the day before i found you but i really hate that key. I don't mind having a key just not a switchblade style key and even the salesperson agreed that it could get stuck in the open position but I if it gets stuck in the "closed" position your SOL. Drove nice tho, but the key was a huge turn off. But i don't get why all these new cards have "infotainment" systems that have to exceed the height of the dash that's ultra annoying.

The SX trim looks the best with the full LED headlights. They should have offered the full LED headlights on the lower trims through a premium package option.

It’s too funny on the top of the motor I’m guessing it’s the dipstick and all but it almost looks like a pull start for a lawnmower LOL!

Took my 2016 Soul, which I loved, in for an oil change about the same day this review was posted, and came across the Seltos while wandering about in the dealer showroom waiting for the Soul to be finished. Never new it existed, but on Feb. 29, I traded the Soul for this same model Seltos in 'Mars Orange.' For me, the only knock on the Soul was the lack of cargo space with the seats up, and the Seltos resolves that. So far, I love it, and it fits my golf clubs without having to put the seats down (yipee!). Rides very much like the Soul, but perhaps a bit smoother. My wife has a 2018 Suby Crosstrek that I'd say rides smoother, but size is very similar, though I think the Seltos has a bit larger cargo area. But I love Kias because of the warranty, in addition to just liking their vehicles. Came across this review looking to see if there was anything about the Seltos I hadn't discovered yet, and while I didn't learn anything, it did confirm my feeling about the Seltos. I will say that I don't like the higher trim levels because they are leather-only, and much darker inside. The 'S' has every option I would want, though I guess blind-spot monitoring would be a nice addition. One option I found that had not been explained to me at the dealership is 'Lane Following Assist' (activated with the button with the steering-wheel-like icon clustered with the cruise control buttons. Works a bit differently than Lane Keep Assist in that it basically steers for you if the lane markings are visible (though you ARE required to keep you hands on the steering wheel for it to remain active). Thanks for taking the time to review the Seltos.

In my experience with an FJ cruiser, white roofs really help keep the vehicle and the twinkies a little cooler in the summer. Also this Seltos has a key option, not a fob, and that's a big plus for me. I may need to look at one.

In a non clutch transmission should I go for a AWD will it slow down the car ?

The wife is looking for a subcompact suv. Right now she’s deciding between the Kona and the CX-3. I showed her this video and she prefers the look and colors of the Kona and CX-3. We don’t really need the extra room that you might get from the Seltos. Also although it’ll be her car, I prefer cloth to the fake leather. It’s just a personal preference. AWD is a huge plus here in Minnesota. Excellent video Joe. It was nice to be able to show this option to the wife. Keep up the fantastic work!!! 👍

I was relatively interested in this until he got to the back seat. This time around I want rear AC vents for sure. I'm tired of freezing myself to get air to the back. Aside from that deal breaker for me it seems like a good choice. Lobe the gas mileage and the look of it.

we got the 2wd S version and I like it....ill probably get the 2024 version as well at some point also with 2wd...i think Kia should have offered the LX with 2wd as well - overseas you can even get the 1.6 turbo in 2wd

Test drove seltos and kona, both 1.6T AWD, but in the end bought the Kona, better stance, and all around better, my choice, but Kia Seltos is def. a close call, same engines, so it come down to looks more than anything

You did fail to mention that Kia's IVT is chain driven, not belt, You don't have to worry about it breaking and the shifting is much better than the competition

For the price, not bad at all. Yes, it doesn’t have the best interior and power everything, but for around $23,000, with a nice infotainment, AWD and plenty of cargo, this is a good affordable option for many.

Does the S- Model have the backup cam?

I recently saw the fully loaded Seltos 1.6T at our local auto show. I didn't like it as much as I did in photos. Those speakers very much look like they have damaged grills on first glance. In my opinion, the Mazda CX30 is easily the best non ev in this class. The style and quality inside destroys the Seltos. The best overall though imo, is the Kona/Niro EV. On second thought, after watching your fully loaded Seltos review, it is obvious I wasn't in the fully loaded Seltos. I retract that statement.

Starting price for this in Jamaica is $29k US for the base trim, cars are so damn expensive here. All i can do is watch 😂.

KIA Seltos rear Aircon vent blowing warm air when Aircon temperature is set at 25 degree celsius and outside environmental temperature is above 34 degree celsius, their service work shop claimed that is normal. During the visit on 26 Apr 2021, inspection was carried out on the vehicle’s Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning System; the values such as Ambient Temperature Sensor, Evaporator Temperature Sensor, photo sensor, In-car air temperature sensor and other related values that maintain the operation of the climatic air-conditioning system. We did not find any abnormalities in the values and all sensors and actuators are functioning normally and a diagnostic scan with the manufacturer’s diagnostic scanner did not report any diagnostic trouble codes. These data was also inspected and compared to 2 other similar vehicles and the performance was found to be similar and thus the vehicle’s air-conditioning system was judged to be operating normally. That's radiculous Air con control system

Would buy a Kona cause you can get a 6 spd trans, but can't stand the front and rear with the five thousand lights,vents, slots etc. Yech.
