Rahoul, shakti movie me raj babbar i think dilip saab ke saath fight nahi de sakte the jo amit ji ne diya.. But yes raj babbar is a very good actor. Raj successful positive and negative both type of characters in movies. Mainstream movie ke bahar bhi unka kuch kam achha hain. I like this video..stay blessed

I knew that story of Raj Babbar not getting the film Shakti. But it was good Amitabh Ji was in that film bcz I don't think so Raj Babbar would have played the role so marvelously well like Amitabh did in that film. Shakti is one of my favourite films of Amitabh Bachchan 😊.

Yes, You are absolutely right about Raj Babbar. The Bollywood magazines said at the time that it happened because of the power of Amitabh Bachchan. Perhaps at the time,Amit ji didn't like Raj Babbar.

It was also because AB was a big fan of Dilip Kumarsaab and did not want to miss an opportunity to work with him. Glad that finally it was a clash of two legends at their best.

Raj babbar made a very big impact with insaf ka taraju, he was said to be the next no. One. But he signed too many movies and could not hold on to the top position. Other than that I remember that everyone loved him and he was a very promising actor. He played a very negative role and became a super star. He created some kind of a history. You can never dismiss him. Of course something worked against him and he couldn't sustain his top superstar status.

Surprised to learn that he was sidelined after giving a certain signing amount by the producer- director. It was nice on the part of Prskash Mehra, that he supported Raj Babbar by letting him stay in a flat which he owned.. for a whole year & Raj Babbar through his hard work established himself in the industry. He was a theatre artist & that too from Delhi... Smita ..his future wife was there in both the films !! Fate does play games which are hard to decipher... Raj Babbar and rekha made the best pair in 80s. They were so fresh fresh. Love them a lott. Raj Babbar may little fall in dialogue delivery but he was a find actor. If you see all actors of 80s were professional and had a healthy lifestyle as compared to previous generation. They did not get much popular songs but overall worked in good flims. 🤗

Eventually Raj Babbar got to work with Dilip Kumar in his benefactor BR Chopra’s film Mazdoor (1983). Feel sad for RB but Shakti wouldn’t have been good without Amitabh. Same I feel for the casting of Namak Halaal. Shashi was most suited than Raj.

Raj Babbar was ahead of his times. Today all popular actors do negative roles... but back in the 80s, even big stars like Amitabh or Dharmendra never risked playing villain roles because it would affect their star status or hero image. But Raj Babbar dared to do villainish roles even as he was getting hero roles. "Shakti" was the remake of a Tamezh film called "Thanga padhakam" which dealt with the conflict between a policeman and his criminal son. The son's character was an out and out villain with no grey shades. But when Amitabh played the son's role in "Shakti" it was re-constructed as a hero role or "positive" role. It's for this reason that Salim-Javed reportedly wanted to cast Raj Babbar instead because they would have had the freedom to mould the character without bothering about the actor's image of a hero. But nevertheless "Shakti" was well appreciated,even though Amitabh once complained in an interview about his role not being to his satisfaction.

Insaaf ka Tarazu released in 1980 and RB was a known star by virtue of this hit movie, while Namak Halal and Shakti both released in 1982. | find it illogical that he was replaced in both movies because he was not a star. Something is amiss, Rahoul!!

Raj Babbar was bound to be successful as he is a fantastic actor but prakas Mehra kept his word he cast him in “ muqaddar ka Faisal “ along with Rajkumar sahab years later MR Bachchan was never in good terms with Raj , I remember Raj Babbar was thrown out from “ Insaniyat” also & and surprisingly the main hero of that film happens to be MR Bachchan . But these things are common in film industry.
