Yes, he never lost stardom, as he was the HIGHEST PAID SUPERSTAR FOR 17 YRS. CONTINOUSLY, which is still a record. That too via SOLO HERO FILMS. Even in 90s, he performed always lead roles Khudai, Aa aab laut chalain... etc. during his political days as Hon'ble M.P. from New Delhi

No question of replacement here; Rajesh Khanna and Amitabh came almost at the same time and Amitabh's stardom started post 75 with Multistar fims, whereas Rajesh Khanna conquered as first selected candidate among 10,000 candidates during his selection through All India Talent Hunt Contest and Amitabh entered in film industry with support of late Mrs. Gandhi. Rajesh Khanna ruled rather the term SUPERSTAR INVENTED only for him in 1969 onwards and he was the highest paid Superstar from 1970 to 1987 whereas Amitabh shared the same tag during 1977-1987. Amitabh's films were mostly of cheapest taste and Rajesh's were most high standard films. So here question of replacement does not arise any way.

@@subhansaleem3552 I've commented on this aspect once but I'll comment again to enlighten you. I had a neighbour some 15 years older than me who worked on a film set with RK and Prem Chopra. He used to tell us anecdotes about actors etc. I was around 16 at the time and was amazed to learn from him that RK was very arrogant, did not speak to my neighbour and other manual workers. However Prem Chopra was very friendly. I learned a lesson in those times, and that was not to believe what I saw on the screen, because that was only acting.

rajesh khanna saab was n still a great mega star n v generous warm hearted person l met him in Nairobi he talked to us so nicely n he looked soooooo handsome v fair dimple n little twinkle was also there mind u there were no cameras while wen we met amitabh in Mumbai he was all smiles in front of cameras but wen we tried to talk to him there were NO cameras he was so rude n looked at us angrily the smile had disappeared this is my experience

@@Anujgymoholicvlogs yes I have also heard that stardom got on his head and it affected his behaviour, arrogance,coming late on sets.Obviously he was a great actor but couldn't be humble in his peak which was the reason for his downfall.You see after downfall he became very humble.Thats the difference between Mr. Bachchan and him he alway remained humble and took brave decisions that's reason why he is so successful till date.
