To me, the Tekken franchise has one of the most interesting video graphic progressions in combat video game history. I like how they weren’t afraid to experiment with the animation technology of the earlier eras.

I liked the fact that they remained one of the top of the lines graphics wise. Tekken 5 still looks amazing it was a PS2 game. Even the jump from 1 to 2. The characters started off blockey with limited details. Then Tekken 2 made their proportions a bit more realistic everyone had a unique look and felt like individuals instead of palette swaps.

@@someguy2842 Tekken within its fanbase it known and beloved, but in that regard outside of it, I agree, it's so underrated. Tekken 2 Jun's design is always going to be my favorite too (also the nostalgia when I was like 5 years old playing it on the PS1 omg....)

Tekken 3 is probably in the top 5 PSX games along with Metal Gear Solid, Final Fantasy VII, Resident Evil 2, and Crash Bandicoot games, and was the most beloved and sold Tekken game in general (though Tekken 7 might've out-sold it with all of the DLC since 2015.) As nice as the graphics are from 1 to 2, they REALLY improved the graphics in Tekken 3. I think that might've had the biggest jump between games.

Tekken 2 is the best intro. It tells you the story through the visuals, provides a great backing ost, and gives proper intros to new characters.

Tekken 5 will always be my personal favorite. I remember showing it to my best friend and he absolutely loved it. He recently passed away and it's been so long since I've seen the opening. Watching it now just brings back so many memories💚

I love Tekken 2 and it's opening, but I don't know...Tekken 3 (my top favorite), Tekken Tag Tournament (both), and Tekken 5's opening was mad lit! Think it equals to Tekken 2 or if not, better. But I like all Tekken 2, Tekken 3, Tekken Tag Tournament (both), and Tekken 5's opening just the same.

Dude the music sounds the most like BGM that fits the Tekken series, plus it has poetry being spoken over it (Black Winter Night Sky), the cool tone/atmosphere of the whole thing, plus the direction of each of the scenes... Tekken 2 still the best Tekken intro, I wouldn't chalk it just up to nostalgia. I could just as easily say the newer intros are just more popular now because they have better graphics and more mainstream music.

TTT opening is so clean and badass, the music was the best in the franchise even if it was a bit overloaded with characters. Check out the end credit music to that game. Just phenomenal.

TTT will always be the best of the original system 11 games, we still go to play on an original cab from time to time. It was also the first one for a console that was better than the arcade versions, the music, the vibe and most of the characters from 1-3. everything was amazing

I find Tekken 6 Home Edition to be the best in showing the story, the choice of music as the tension builds up, then the display of Azazel at the end as the punchline that at first made you go, "Tf, What muckery is it this time to fight another mucking beast?" Same as Kazuya's badassery in Tekken 4 on both editions. But personally TTag 2 over all because of the hype, the quality of the graphics, display of smooth animations, even so they're non-canon. Notice the wild audience suddenly shuts up when Angel appears. So dope.

I grew up with these games. Tekken 3 and 5 were easily my favs. Tekken 3 was actually my first fighting game, I still remember getting all the characters and feeling so accomplished. That soundtrack is flawless.

Tekken 3 is one of the greatest games of all time. Nothing overpowered just straight fast fighting. +so much to unlock, more than most games these days. It is the 5th greatest selling Playstation 1 game of all time.

Candas Turan just because it's the one you've played first or the one you had the best memories with, doesn't mean it's the best. Since Tekken 3 came out, no ground breaking improvements came after that. Critic consensus will tell you that. Tekken 3, still the best and not just my opinion but critics and the general consensus as well.

Candas Turan like i said, general consensus from both critics and majority of fans. They like FF7, i don't (FFIV and VIII and X for me). You like tekken 2 simply because it's nostalgic for you doesn't make it a better game than tekken 3. My point went beyond your head.

Also; Lars is Kazuya's brother; and Jin's uncle; and Asuka(the girl from Tekken 5's intro that rescues a cat while riding a bicycle); is Jin's cousin. And; Jun Kazama is Jin's mother. Kazumi (from Tekken 7's intro); is Heihachi's wife and Kazuya's mother; who had apparently hired Akuma from Street Fighter to stop Heihachi.

The thing is at the start of tekken it was just a tournament the winner gets millions of cash But later on it became a family war This is why all the intros are for the mishima It is the mishima saga the tournament is only a façade to hide the real motive of the tournament

Looking back on the first game really gives me a ps1 feeling. You come back home from school and you sit down immediately and play. But tekken 2 I think was when true nostalgia was created

I remember once in '95 I was staring (and drooling) by chance at a tv in a comics shop window, watching multiple times the first Tekken fmv intro (for Ps1, of course). It was surely just a trailer loop or something, few months before the actual game release, because there wasn't any gameplay demo/attract mode, only the intro. Anyway, I especially enjoyed it when Kazuja blowed out the candle with his fist (although Paul Phoenix on his bike model and animations/lighting were definitely better realized) . At the time I didn't even know it wasn't in real time (hence, moreover, the jaw dropping). Now it mostly looks like well made child plasticine figures, and yet I still appreciate it.

Tekken has been my favorite fighting serie of all times! I can't believe it's been 23 years when I started playing the very first Tekken in the arcades, way before it was released on the the first PlayStation😱 and of course I am getting my Collector's edition of Tekken 7!!!!😃👍👍Can't wait!

Tekken tag tournament represents my childhood, that's why i love mostly its intros, and Tekken 5 too that came few years later. I started playing it when i was 6 and i'm still playing that game (i play also all the other chapters especially Tekken 5, another great game). I remember that me and my uncle used to play survival trying to reach 20 rounds... 12 years later we're still trying, without changing our favorite characters, mine is Hwoarang and his is Lei. Hope that no one gets bored reading this, I just wanted to share my thoughts.

I love most of the Tekken intros, but Tekken 3's home edition intro is absolutely perfection. The entire feels and intense scenarios everyone was in. It was also more on the mature and dark vibe which completely is my favorite vibe. 20/10 I will forever love Tekken 3's home edition intro.

I thought for sure that Jin would be the tekken rep for Smash because Tekken 3 is the most sold fighting game at that time, Jin is super popular and had so many times were he was the poster boy. But I guess they did do what I thought they would, they picked someone with the Devil Gene for their gimmick and final smash. Who better than to have the one who started and ended this whole Mishima "throw off the cliff to grow stronger" feud in the first game and possibly last game in the series.

To be honest, I like Kazuya as the rep. A villain protagonist as the rep for their franchise is original.

@@ChiefMedicPururuCould've had both Jin AND Kazuya; as sort of a Tekken Tag representation. If they can add Sephiroth as the other Final Fantasy rep; then I don't see why we couldn't have had both Jin and Kazuya. Or even Lee(Heihachi's adopted son); and Kazuya; or Hwoarang and Jin. Or even Hwoarang and Jin; who are pretty much the Ryu and Ken of Tekken. Not trying to discredit Kazuya; he's a great idea for a Tekken rep in Smash Bros; but let's not forget about Jin; Lars; and Hwoarang either. Lars; (was the main protagonist of Tekken 6) AND also, Hwoarang is also Jin's rival.

@@ChiefMedicPururu I'm not entirely sure; but probably by flying back up using his devil form's wings. I mean; why not? (Other than that Jin doesn't WANT to use his devil form; of course). But like I said; I'm not discrediting Kazuya as the Tekken series rep in Smash Ultimate. I just like Jin more.

Omg I miss Tekken 4 and 5 sooo much. They were my childhood games on of my first games Tekken and Driver parallel lines. I started to play them when I was 3 yrs old. I liked evrey character especially Marduk and their movies and the intro was just so awesome. I remember when I had a fear of when Heihachi threw Kazuya off a cliff, god I thought it was so scary when the song off the scene started to play and Heihachi just came there with his son on his hands. I even used to wear socks on my hands, wear black pants and paint red fire on the pants just to look like Jin Kazama. Ahh miss Tekken 5.

It started to go crazy in Tekken 3 Abit when the timeline was push twenty years forward and started to go off the chart in Tekken 6 with Jin Kazama starting a world war 3 just to end the devil gene curse. Tekken 2 still have the best feel out of the whole series.

My personal top three 1.) Tekken 5 (Home intro): Self explanatory 2.) Tekken 7: Fated Retribution (Home intro): I always liked the "cinematic trailer" style it uses. 3.) Tekken 6 (Home intro): Has a slight cinematic flare and is packed with action. Also the first Tekken game I fully beat.

Wow, I had no idea the love Tekken 2 got around these parts. Personally, my favorite intro was Tekken 3 (home edition) followed by the Tekken Tags.
