I love this performance of Abbas where he displays arrogance throughout the movie and maintains that attitude perfectly up to the climax even when he is losing the girl and getting his heart broken. Such a wonderful nuanced performance.

Both him and Madhavan are shown as gray. At the end it will be tough for the viewer to decide who the better man is, because Abbas is not giving up the girl because he’s selfless. He is very egoistic and can never imagine his partner in love with someone else. That’s his primary motivation to give up his love.

Maturity is when you realize Madhavan character is the evil one. Abbas character is the real gentleman for stopping his own wedding with the girl he was in love with to unite her with who she loved (who is also his grave enemy). Unfortunately many girls play with the emotions of their fiancés and get married to those who lie and cheat. This is being promoted in movies too like Remo.
