People from Ttipura may be rightfully proud of him being from Tripura, but all Indians are proud of him being an Indian, and having created such memorable music. Not many MDs have sung themselves, Hemant Kumar and Kishore Kumar being the notable exceptions. The collection of hindi film songs by SDB is rather limited, but what a precious collection it is! He sang with such feeling and emotion. Asha Bhonsle in a recent Google interview mentioned that the computer music can create such wonders, software can correct a bEsur singer but it can never create the 'feeling' a live musician imparts to the song. When I hear wahaan kaun hai teraa, suno mere bandhoorE, O mere majhee, ... I tear up at the depth of feeling he puts in the song. And this is just his contribution to hindi film music. His non filmi misic, his bengali music, I can't even fathom how precious that is.

Inspite of his bad health , Sri Sachin Dev Burman went on giving lilting hits , till 1978 ! He was taken to the hospital & as the doctors began to treat him , he went into a Coma & was breathing for 5 months , in that condition & later succumbed to his failing heart ! 😢 . His last desire to return to his hometown , remained unfulfilled ! We, the Music lovers 🎶 are left with non-stop tears ! Our hearty Pranams to the highly-qualified & Musically inclined soul of Sri SACHIN DA BURMAN !

Very well produced documentary on this legendary composer. Well deserved tribute to a masterly composer. Every song of his are masterly creations... full of Melody and Perfection. Only composer to adopt to changing tastes and trends yet providing the haunting tunes for about four decades. Who can believe that one who composed Pyasaa and Aradhana are one and the same? Who can believe that one who composed Chalti ka Naam Gaadi and Guide are one and the same? Who can believe that one who composed Kagaz ke Phool and Jewel Thief are one and the same? List is long. Fountain of Creativity best personified. My salute Matchless Maestro! Just as Bhupen Hazarika is honoured with Bharat Ratna....nation should consider such an honour to Sachin Da.

This is an excellent effort from rajya Sabha TV. Really tears are rolling down my eyes. Now I can understand why Sachin Tendulkar's father was such a huge fan of SD Burman and thereby named his son Sachin. And the little boy became THE SACHIN TENDULKAR

Zan zan zanajan baaje, reminded me of Pt Malikarjun Mansurji. We should be indebted to this Devine avishkar, “ S D Burmanji”. Feel inadvertently or otherwise, he produced our Hindustani music when it was right for the filmy requirements. Hats off and my sincere Namaskar to this stalwart. Sincerely pray to the Almighty to give us dedicated and studied musicians now for our next generation. I sincerely doubt it . But, the Almighty is omnipotent,so possible. Let’s just pray.

Saw many programs and films during the 3 month lockdown. But this was the best. Dada A rare gem of a musician. I was one year old when Guide movie was released. So I had the privilege of understanding and listening the best music director during my growing up years. Respect and love for Dada.

Great documentary, Sachin Dev Burman is one of the best Bangal (East Bengali) of all time... Musical legend. Every time I visit Comilla to my Old school Comilla Victoria College, I think of Sachin Dev Burman and his music.

Burman Sahab recognised Asha Bhosle ji’s vocal Genius. A lot of his unknown but glorious compositions are sung by his daughter-in-law Ashaji from 1952 onwards

But his first choice had been only Lata Mangeshkar! His best songs were offered to Bharataratna Lataji! There is no need to list out names of films or the songs, that the combo of Sachinda and Lataji made famous! Ashaji was his second choice!

We are great full for the producer's of this video which depicts the early struggle undergone by Dada in Mumbai and slowly establishing himself in the selfish world of Mumbai where only money matters, and Burmanda soul creating magical song's one after the other for pure existence since he had burnt his bridge and no options otherwise which brought to end an illustrious carrier People like him are very hard to find you live in our hearts Burmanda.

I lost myself while watchinh Sachin Dadas historical background and his contribution in Hindi and Bengali music..I got to see some Indian films including guide.The music given by Dada was so melancholy that it was beyond explaining . The hindi music has made strong ties special friendly relation between Nepali and Indian people.

Unputdownable vedeo......many thanks to the presenter. It is rare that a composer, doesn't require another singer to sing his tunes,but then he allowed some singers to become immortal... No words can describe the pleasure his songs give to our souls..
