Poor guy....He was really struggling with those words. It's a rare man, let alone celebrity, who can be so openly, honestly vulnerable.

Interviewers love asking him about his mother to cause him discomfort. I'll never understand the desire to see someone's pain. He's such a sweet man.

A bit rude, to ask such a personal question. I love the way he holds his knee; it seems like a self-comfort gesture. He's so kind and patient..

beatrice ballarini Yes he is. He's an English patient :|

It's not rude - his mother is a celebrated author who also wrote about family life and her bond with her sons so I guess he could have expected this question.

Poor man, he sounds as though he still missed his mother very much. And he did look about to weep at 0:38; my throat ached just watching him.

Truly one of the greatest actors I think that I will ever have the privilege to see. From the icy, bitter, sadistic, murderous, Nazi with eyes that will pierce the strongest substance on Earth, to the funny, artsy man in Grand Budapest, to the unbelievable reincarnation of the original M in Bond...Just fantastic.

PrimevalFave This was long after her death. And it's not rude, this is exactly how this show works, painful subjects are brought up and discussed. Anyone coming on the show knows and understands this.

I hate this guy asking the questions. He's so cold and just reading off his questions,- not being very pleasant with his guests. Who decided to let this guy sit there? Terrible!!!! I'm sorry for Ralph Fiennes.

This is what inside the actors studio is like all the time. The interviewer is good, just because you perceive it to be in ill taste does not mean it is.
@AmyBrandlin9 жыл бұрын
The first line is kinda wrong. Ralph's mother did not chronicle a long and painful pilgrimage. His words make her sound like a whiner. She was a very strong inspiring person. I don't recall much in her book being about her pain.
