As a dumb middle schooler, we were required to do a portfolio on one of the ‘08 presidential candidates. I selected Ralph because he was different from who everyone else were picking. I will admit I was slow to realize what a great man Ralph Nader is . When so many public figures are insincere , driven by ego and desire for money and fame one becomes cynical . Time has proven there are exceptions . Ralph has never stopped working in the right direction , and most impressively has never lost his sense of optimism and stubborn belief that each persons efforts matter . He is an inspiration by words and example . I hope there are more like him in our future because the world will need them to balance the Types who seem to push to the front of the pack but misuse the position for personal gain .

i worked for A&P when they bought out some Kroger stores & so many things changed. a complete hiring freeze, wages cut, over-management, full-timers were cut to part time, paid vacation time cut, no new equipment, neglect of the sewer system. and rediculous things like they removed telephone boxes in the back room so it was harder to communicate with cashiers & customer service on things like price checks. they also increased security & had them watch the workers more diligently & set traps for us (enticing us to steal so they could fire us). they also distributed unusable boxcutters, so we would start buying our own & they didn’t have to supply frequently. worker moral was horrible. there was alot of bullying & anger & quitting/firing. the store eventually closed 7 years laters & all of those original Kroger owned stores closed too

Yes it is important to show that there are people that succeed with moral and ethical values. There can be sustainable, responsible, business models. More of the information from Mr. Nader's book to hold up when our young people are learning and shaping their ideas. Recently in college business courses a few students would choose to pursue these ideals. Sadly there were teachers/professors that undermined, criticized and hindered those few students. Change the mindset, change the world 😉

That is an idiotic lie. I have met hundreds of Democrats that blamed Nader for bad-mouthing Gore in Florida in the three days before the election and taking 80,000 progressives votes from the world's most preeminent environmentalist and NOT ONE of them loves Bush. Naderites live in a demented fantasy-world. The greater of "two evils" in 2000 was the Iraq war.

@@flixfan1 And yet those Democrats have been deceived by the establishment and their talking points to resort to Scapegoating as well as Gaslighting. Even so, I've seen pictures of the Obamas chilling with W. There is no such thing as voter siphoning, either. Once again, your hero, Albert Gore cost himself votes because he was a mediocre at best candidate, and was hardly a progressive. Dude couldn't even win his homestate of TN. And once again, more FL Democrats voted for Bush than Gore or Nader combined that year. Plus, Gore picked a lousy running mate too. Also, I find it ironic that you are saying Naderites are living in a demented fantasy world, when you yourself are creating a reality where the Democrats are the good guys and everybody else is the enemy. If that's not hypocrisy right there, then I don't know what is.

I was really surprised that he brought Anita Roddick as an example. Especially considering the controversy of how she acquired The Body Shop brand name & identity from two independent women entrepreneurs in the US which seems to have involved some unscrupulous trickery. She also used to brag about spending time working in an Israeli Kibbutz (i.e. illegal settlements under international law built on stolen land) while simultaneously propping her brand as being socially & ethically conscious. Also she was hardly an "industry disruptor". A more legitimate beauty industry disruptor would have been someone like Paula Begoun who not only called out Anita Roddick back in the 90s in her popular books, but who actually went on to build her own brand on challenging the industry while creating a great place to work that also conducted its business ethically in ways that were truly unparalleled at the time.

Not sure where you are getting your information . My son was in a high speed rollover accident earlier this year . He broke his neck . Luckily he lived and was not paralyzed . But his initial treatment was a halo brace screwed into his skull to stabilize his neck as bone healed . I learned from doctors and neurosurgeons that the type of break he had is most common in either older people ( falling ).. In younger people it is most frequently from car accidents but in the last twenty years this type of injury has plummeted because of air bags . ( my son was driving an old truck ). There are all kinds of statistics about lives saved due to seat belts and airbags if you care for facts . The problems with airbags are related to automakers using a low bid subcontractor for airbags who used ammonium nitrate as a propellent which is unstable and should not have been allowed . That is the fault of automakers cutting corners in the interests of profits .
