Ralphie the buffalo: the live mascot of University of Colorado. In a four part series we look at live collage football mascots. Ralphie is an american Bison and runs across the field and CU football games.

Came here to see a video of one of these runs after reading that Ralphie V was being retired because she has been running too fast for her handlers lately! A very majestic animal, and I'm glad to hear she will be retiring to a ranch with other buffalo and former mascots.

My wife, who isn't from CU, saw Ralphie for the first time live and was speechless.

LSU has a great live mascot and Auburn University releases an eagle (a golden eagle I think), before the kick off. it soars ouf over the stadium and all "her" fans. she circles over everyone and then zooms into the field for the kill.....Its pretty cool.
