Thanks for the reply Mike! I'm really impressed with this EcoDiesel. Again in my research, I don't like the Nerf boards that RAM offers and even on the RAM Build & Price site, it doesn't allow you to get wheel to wheel boards for the Eco on the 1500. Someone told me it was a weight issue but I can't believe that. But the other dealers, autotrucktoys etc do not offer wheel to wheel either. Why is that? I never owned a RAM truck but after test driving the Eco, I think I'm sold. GMC just didn't keep up with the technology. Plus the air suspension in the RAM looks like a great plan. Please give me your opinion on the side steps, running boards. Thanks

Hello, I want to buy a 1500 hemi 2014. I drive in rural and town street sometimes in interurban streets. No tow no cargo into the bed. What type of rear axe ratio do you suggest.? 3.21/3.55/3.92 I'm looking forward to hear from you Roberto Italy

Mike, what is in the Customer Preferred Package 28S in the RAM 1500? Product info book and online site don't describe it

+Paul L Lang If you have access to the window sticker it will list all the features under the package. Juan Fernandez The 5'7" box is the most popular size however the 6'4" box is not bad looking and it does give you more room in the bed to haul stuff.

have had nothing but problems with my 2014 Ecodiesel. In the shop now for the 4th time and has been sitting there for 2 weeks waiting on parts. Service manager just told me it could be another month. Am filing the paperwork for Ram to buy this truck back from me. Owner of dealership told me to take my truck somewhere else for warranty work. Will not buy another product from Dodge. Do your homework before buying.

yeah if u can afford $50k.. They don't even make a Tradesman model which is their cheaper RAM 1500 model for ecodeisel.

You can get a tradesman with the EcoDiesel. You have to have either the quad/crewcab or a regular cab with the 8 ft box. They won't make a RCSB with the diesel. IIRC it's available with all trims save for Express and Sport.

RAM offered to buy back my Ecodiesel. Turned to be nothing more than an attempt to get me to pay 47,000 dollars for a Hemi powered truck the dealership had on sale for 33,100 dollars. I refused and am still driving a truck RAM has recognized as being defective. So much for corporate ethics at RAM. Buy at your own risk.

Thousands were waiting for an economical 1/2 ton Diesel for a looong time!... Average consumers don't want the overpowered workhorse type Diesel or Gas engines. Europe is way ahead on this... in some counties over 70% of Cars, SUVs and light Trucks are powered by modern economical Diesel engines! -- Incredible it took so long over here to recognize such a no brainer. Fiat/Chrysler will be highly rewarded for taking the lead with their EcoDiesel.

Yeah the $2800 extra over the hemi wont pay for itself in fuel savings. At lest not for a while. This engine needs to be the same price of the hemi if they want a real incentive for people to buy it. Its a good idea though.

Pretty sure they're selling like crazy right now and it only makes sense, up until just recently diesels were really only designed for people that have to tow stuff all the time and finally people have realized the advantages that diesels provide in reliability as well as consumption. I'm a "young guy" and I would gladly buy a ecodiesel IF it wasnt 40 grand.
