We decided to try a different style video to show a raw walkthrough of Phil's brand new RAM 3500 2022 Crew Cab and how we set it up with the crucial items to tour the country comfortably and safely.
Suspension is always the most important part and when added extra weight like this great looking Offroad Creative Canopy and Front Bar Combo it pays to dial in the suspension correctly. We started with a Carli Kings 2.5" Pintop Levelling Kit. The massive 2.5" King Shocks tuned by Carli will handle the Australian conditions and we opted to start with the base kit which is a massive improvement to the ride quality. The rear end of these trucks when a canopy is fitted varies a lot with different options and load so we tend to customise the factory leaf spring to gain desired ride height and upgrade the leaf pack to suit the heavy load.
Firestone Airbags were installed to help secure the rear end with the caravan on the back and Phil can simply run his compressor and pump up each bag at the rear to the desired pressures. We can then upgrade this setup to have in cabin monitoring and control.
Phil decided to keep the night edition wheels and upgrade the factory tyres to Blackbear 35x12.5x20 All Terrains. These tyres have proven to be great in all road conditions and are nice and strong in the sidewalls when travelling offroad or hitting those nasty conditions on the way to camp.
We have opted for a basic Rhino Roof rack and communications package being a GME XRS 370 4x4 Connect Pack along with a Telstra Celfi Go Mobile Phone Booster which runs a 1.2m GME Antenna. Both antennas are on ‪@RhinoRackAustralia‬ folding brackets for those low clearance tracks.
Offroad creative have nailed it with another full tray / canopy combination and this setup has all the creature comforts to tour in style. Offroad Creative have also released an amazing looking front bar option which houses a 15k Carbon Offroad Winch along with a Stedi lighting package.
Phil wanted to option this setup with the basic requirements to keep the family safe, stay in contact with relatives and tow the caravan comfortably to the next destination. If you are wanting to set up your new American vehicle we are here to help from the start!
