If you're tired of slamming the tailgate, or trying to struggle to keep it from smashing open, you need the Deezee tailgate assist.
This simple device allows the tailgate to drop down at the perfect speed-not too fast, not too slow.
This is great as anyone can now opperate the tailgate, without the fear of being squished. Kids, wife, grandma...hell, even me. I got tired of opening the tailgate and trying to keep it from dropping down too quickly and making a horrible thud sound. Not to mentioned that if a kid opened it or something they could be injured. 15 minutes (or less) and you'll have a smooth dropping tailgate!

I bought the same device but I can't screw the silver ball mount into the gold 'blind nut' because it literally seems there's not enough threat inside... do the ball mount sits lookse in the blind nut and there's just a little bit of threat at the end of the blind nut, but the ball mount doesn't even touch it. Am I doing something wrong or is my tail gate assist faulty? It's a mk4,5 RAM 1500 5.7hemi European sport model

Have you done the step to tighten/secure that gold nut? Once you tighten down and crush the gold nut into place the ball with threads should have no problem reaching it. Check out rivnut or rivetnut videos.

Still working great-I forget it's there now. Just "pop" the tailgate latch and let it do its thing. Gone are the flashbacks of the tailgate smashing down lol.
