As the holiest month in Islam approaches, it is important to prepare our intentions and what do we wanna get from this Ramadan that we can carry through out our life as a habit and new knowledge.
I am very excited for Ramadan and I hope you'll find this video helpful, inshaAllah. May Allah SWT accepts our prayers and good deeds this Ramadan. Aamin!

Ramadan mubarak! This was really cool to watch and rather educational. Of course, one can learn about ramadan from scholars, but i'd say it's just as valuable to know about traditions and practices from normal average people and from the way each person adapts it to themself

Ramadan Mubarak dear Indah and assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu from Germany. I like Junk Journaling very much (especially the way Johanna Clough creates it) and it is so nice to see this combined with Islam as I am Muslima too.

Ramadan Mubarak. It's wonderfull to see how excited you are about this preparation and this month. I wanted to ask if it's fine for me to adapt some of Ramadan principles as an atheist. I just want to partially try as a way to keep palestinians in my mind and heart. I know you can't talk on behalf of the whole muslim community, but I wanted to know your opinion. It would be, instead of fasting, abstaining from selfregulating foods, like chocolate or cheese, any food that easely make me feel better and that feel easier to eat. Just so that every time I want to, I tell myself no and think about them, and put the work to cook something harder and that requires more work and while working, think of them too.

I don't want to advertize it as a "lighter Ramadan" in any way, it is inspired in Ramadan, but I don't intent on being telling people that or anything. I just want to do the internal work that I feel that Ramadan encourages one to do. (Please tell me if any of this is being rude or cultural appropiating in any way, I want to be respectfull and learn) If you (or anyone) thinks I shouldn't, I won't do it. 💖💖💖💖💖💖 🍉🍉🍉🍉🍉🍉 Hope my intentions come across in my wording😅

Hi ❤, thank you so much for your question. It is very compassionate of you that you want to do Ramadan principles to keep people in Palestine in your mind. I can see that you have such a kind & beautiful intention. I truly feel honoured that you asked about this matter to me. You’re not being rude at all, you’re being compassionate towards people who are having hardship. So, anyone can do the principles of Ramadan as there are only great benefits about it. Ramadan is so much more than just fasting. It is the month where we are encouraged and learning self-control, self-discipline, breaking unhealthy cycle, creating healthy habits, doing good deeds (such as helping people in need, charity), be more patient, resist desires, be compassionate with those who are less fortunate (one of them is by fasting), and ultimately as muslims we are obeying these commands from Allah as an act of worship. So implementing those principles can be in many ways in our daily life. These are some examples that I can recommend you: 1. Dont eat excessively and not waste food. People in Palestine dont even have enough food for a meal and many, if not most of them, can’t even find food for a day. So by eating just enough and not waste any bit, we are remembering people in Palestine because they would beg for our food waste to eat. 2. In Ramadan, our good deeds will be multiplied by so many times. The smallest good deeds will be rewarded such as simple as smiling. You can do any good deeds around your family, friends, or community. Instead of waiting for someone to ask for your help, you can offer them help. If you are able to, you can do donations. You can check your surrounding community and also donate for Palestinian cause, but we are actually encouraged to help our family first. See if any of your family is in struggle financially or emotionally and maybe you can do little things for them. We see on our screen that Palestinians never throw their neighbors under the bus. They’re always helping each other. From sharing food to help getting someone out from the rubble. That sense of community is truly what we can learn from them. Doing good deeds doesn’t need to always require money to spend. (continued)

@@aracelipascualjover678 (continuing my reply) 3. Control your emotion. Be more patient and try to listen first before react on to something. Resist desire to say bad things about or towards someone. Resist bad desires. Being the bigger person (I think) is always a win. Amidst all the destruction, Palestinians are kind to each other, they dont do humiliation back like what their people have been treated. They only want peace, living a normal life and be respected just like any other human being. No human is better than the other, and no one is less than the other. 4. If you wanna get the essence of fasting: When I was a kid and learning to do fasting, I did fasting half day. So I ate my meal before the dawn then fasting until lunch time. I ate my lunch then continued fasting again until sunset. This way you will feel the hunger and thirst that people in Palestine have been suffering for months. This way, you’ll be more appreciated in what you have in life and be more compassionate (This is how I feel personally) So there are definitely more things that you can do to implement the principles of Ramadan. Most of the principles, we implement it from the heart. I hope this answer your question. Apologies in advance if any of my wording doesnt go through the beautiful intentions of Ramadan, English is not my first language >.
