Fun fact: Flake can control the speed of the treadmill so his step cadence matches the bpm of the song - the treadmill can also rotate 180 degrees so he can play both keyboards 🙃

I had them on my bucket list from the moment I discovered them (2007, when I got the internet), and finally saw them this year in Padova (Padua, Italy). BTW, I'm 72 and have the ticket for Klagenfurt (Austria) next year, again in the Feuerzone, I'll be 73, but feel like a teenager madly loving his idols. The experience was so completely positive, some 35-40.000 people, from everywhere, but no pushing, everybody singing in German, most not knowing the language, for more than 2 1/2 hours. Indescribable. And, the controversy is resolved, the German police (and they are not so beloved there) closed the worldwide investigation, with no proof of illdoing, so that's IT. You're one of the very few I subscribed to. (BP) Do more Rammstein, please!

In 2022 my son was at the Rammstein concert in Oslo, just in front of the stage, they call it "firezone". He told me that this was not a concert it was an adventure and yes, the firezone was very hot. In may 2024 we, my son and me, will go to Dresden.

Native german here. I like to explain the text for non german natives because it has several word games in it. There are 2 words in german, they sound the same: hast and hasst. Du hast means you have and is no complete sentence. But Du hasst means you hate and is a complete sentence. Then the next repitition says Du hasst mich. This also is a complete sentence and means You hate me. When the next word comes in addition its changes to Du hast mich gefragt - you have asked me. The sentence Du hast mich gefragt. also has a second meaning, the meaning when sombody askes to be married. Next sentence is: Und ich hab nichts gesagt. And I didn’t say anything. So she asked him if he wants to marry her and he didn’t say anything in response. Next part is the question: Willst du bis der Tod uns scheidet, treu ihr sein in allen Tagen? This is a traditional question that the priest may ask the bridegroom. Will you until death is divorcing us (you) be true to her in all days? And he answers Nein (no). The next time this sentence is altered: Willst du bis zum Tod der Scheide treu ihr sein in allen Tagen? - divorce is Scheidung. Scheide means vagina. So its: Will you until the death of the vagina be true to her in all days? And he answers: No.

i know its an older comment, but i want to point out that "bis zum tod der scheide" can also be interpreted/understood as "bis zum tod [welcher] scheide[t]" ("until death, which parts") which plays into the wedding vow. you translated the german vow directly to english, but the its actually "till death do us part", which means exactly the same in the end. so even that line has a double meaning, the one about not willing to stay with a partner thats infertile or... lets call it asexual, but also simply not wanting to be faithful at all.
@haggihug3162
@haggihug3162 13 күн бұрын
@@srkares I just translated it into english for people who can not speak German. The interpretation of the meaning I wanted to leave to the audience. And yes, your way of interpretation is something that is in this song, you're right.

There is another reason for so much fire. Rammstein called themselves Rammstein Airshow in the beginning. At the US base in Ramstein in 1988 there was a catastrophe during an airshow in which two airplanes collided near the audience. 70 dead and 1000 injured. At some point they realized that they had spelled Ramstein wrong and dropped the airshow. There is a song called Rammstein. It's about this catastrophe.

The keyboardist basically on a Van De Graaff generator creating static electricity for the lightning bolts in the show, he is wearing a grounded suit like a Faraday cage to direct the electricity and protect him, you can see it better in other videos'. Want to see something crazy ? Check out "Ich Tu Dir Weh" by Rammstein, other than it's a great sounding song (the translation is pure S&M) but the frontman, Till Lindemann had his cheek pierced and implanted LED's in his mouth. It's awesome. Like fire ? check out "Feuer Frei" with face mounted flame throwers throwing out 20'+ flames.

I saw all this fire live but not in Paris... ;) And ligth to keyboard aren't postprod, they were there... You are right with his high licence but there is still a team of pirotehnicans that prepare the stage and shows, but bc of his high licence he can use it all, turn it on, etc, there is always so much ambulans and fire tracks for concerts ahhh you know it will be great. And I honestly tell everyone even if you don't know one song go to the show. Ohh my father also was the one who listen to them and I started then I was like in middle school, and it was still when we listen music on cassette 😉 ahh i'm fan for 22 years.... (Feeld old writing this) I actually have performances I like more then this one but for sure if someone didn't watch a lot of theirs live it would be like the one to by wowed.... Hmm if you like theirs live show you should watch one when Till is cooking Flake (keybord guy) in cauldron.😂 song "Mein Teil",beven simply for yourself, it us quiet old performance sonI don't know how video's will look.

Anthony had it right, as he adds more words, it goes from deliberate double meanings to single. They thrive on folk tales and story telling. Genius. Sonne, official, is my favourite (beware, there is one live version that most folk react to, where Till is gassed out - that one does not do justice to the song, he was well-tired).

I got to see them live the last two times they came to Texas. They actually have a countdown on the Trons right as the lights go out. It's a black screen and it says something like "The show is getting ready to start. Please put your phones away and enjoy the show." then counts down from 10. I've been to a huge amount of concerts, and they're the only band that has done that. I love how committed to their show they are….Side note, I don't know ALL the details, but I read somewhere that they named theirselves after an airshow disaster that happened in Germany.

I saw Rammstein for the first time in the 90s in a concert tent in Vienna in front of maybe 800 spectators. There wasn't a big show back then, but Till swallowed fire. Back then I would never have thought it possible that this band would become global stars. In 2022 I saw Rammstein on their world tour and in 2023 I saw Till solo but this show is so obscene and perverse that it will never come to the USA😆

Otherwise recent versions of "Ich Will", "Mein Teil", "Deutschland" would be great! As always - Great Reactions!

also, as for the make-up: flake revealed in his book, that the darkish dirt makeup is coffee powder with a bit of water mixed in. applied to the skin, it actually gets absorbed, and flake was suffering from insomnia while on tour. this is why he now dawns the white makeup (which is made from milk-powder) and doesn't amp him up like that.

There is not that many music groups or artists that have really complex lyrics that you need to hear more than once and in this case now the language how it’s built and how the difference in the placing of a word can shift and mean something else. I have learned that another group that use a lot of different meanings not just in their lyrics but in their mvs too, and that’s BTS they have said that they like too read and what people saying after they see and hear and are interpreting what their mvs can mean. Spring Day is one that has a lot of hidden meanings in it, the group has never said it’s about the Sewol ferry disaster but if anyone looks up what happened after that and how much it impacted people and look up videos that have theories about that mv they can see how much thought that’s hidden in that song and video. Bts has written songs about school and the expectations that are on youth, mental health and self love, too love one self, what society are expecting of people, about people hating them, criticise them for what they are doing and their success, of relationships both good and bad. Their debut song is about what do you want to do after you finish school and finished your education. About them showing their inspiration from different cultures in their songs and mvs. This group rarely use green screen, instead uses often locations and/or a studio with built up sets. They have done a video to show how they wanted their live performance to be filmed in different camera angles, when a live performance was filmed in odd angles and didn’t show it the way it was meant to be filmed. At the time they were a new group from a small company and hadn’t the power or influence to have a say in it, too stop rapping and looking in to the camera to show they don’t do lip sync. Yes their dancing is sometimes really hard and complex but they sings and rap running on treadmill too be able to do their performance. At one time the stage started to collapse when they performed their song Idol and the staff was holding it up so they could finish their performance safely and right after that they were told that they had to change the last songs because of the risk of the stage collapsing, so they didn’t dance in any of the last songs. This was filmed by a camera team that was filming for their behind the scenes documentary for their concert at the time. They have made the artists area on an award show move with the song Idol, there’s fan cams of the artists reaction when it happened. Their mv of I need you are in at least two different versions in korean, one titled original version that is longer could only be shown after 10 pm at night and a shorter version that could be shown at anytime, the original version has a lot of a darker theme, they also did a Japanese version too this song that is really different from the original version.

Only through music can you get a bunch of frogs to sing a song in German. This group came out in the late 90s and they fill what I call industrial music they came out with groups like Crystal Method, Chemical Brothers, Prodigy, and even some of Nine Inch Nails! He’s not covered in blood it’s fire retardant because the lead singer is a certified pyro expert so it keeps them from catching fire.

Wow, cool that you noticed the German, I took TWO WHOLE YEARS of German over a decade ago in high school, and the reference is that in German, "To hate" is Hassen (Replace the double S with an ess-set IIRC) so the past tense would be "Hasst" (Again with the ess-set) and the word for "To have" is Haben, but the past tense is Hast...so it's a phonetic play on words...It's like a singer in English saying, "You had me" when they are referencing a lover both possessing them and tricking them at the same time...

Another reason why Rammstein uses a lot of fire is the accident during an air show at the US airbase in Ramstein on 28. August 1988

I finally saw Rammstein live in 2019 after being a huge fan for atleast 15 years if not more, and let me tell you, it was hands down, by miles and miles, the single best concert I have ever been too, and I've been to quite a few, including other bands who are legendary for their live shows such as Kiss, but nothing, absolutely NOTHING stacks up too Rammstein!

I saw them here in South Africa. It was incredibly hot. I was in the fire zone. Lol. Till uses a flamethrower. It was insane. The blood is real. He repeatedly hits himself with the mic. He has a lot of scars. He seemed larger than life. He is very shy lol. He looks over the crowd not at the crowd.

I was a big fan of The Matrix movie. I got the sound track. On it was this song and I would rock to it in my car. It always blew me away. I am hoping that you will get to Ren's Eden video. I am considering Ren somewhat of a prophet like Oliver Anthony (I admit that Ren is OA x100 in a good way. OA did six months of suffering compared to at least six years of hellacious suffering for Ren. They both are prophets, in my opinion. But, I started on the OA rabbit hole before Ren. I love them, both.) Can't wait for your reaction to Eden. Just curious on your take. Have a nice day!

I remember seeing them in i think 1998 in Australia and they had the same fireworks then, but I don't remember seeing the electricity effects. But that was a long time ago. They performed Buch Dich and the keyboard was played by one of the other guys and it was on fire. The keyboard guy was otherwise engaged (watch the Family Values Tour Concert if you want to see it haha)
