Great content! I played this matchup 4 times with a friend last night and lost the first two with the SS deck when I misunderstood how important it is to take advantage of the ink ramp chances early. After that, his removal just wasn't enough. I still feel like she was a little unlucky to loose all four matches though.

Great content as always been playing the game for about 3 weeks already and it is a lot of fun couldn't get my hands on a Starter but managed to build an Emerald/Amethyst deck from scratch😅 it has been my baby ever since, can't wait for you guys to try out the multiplayer aspect of the game keep up the fun and great content🙏

These videos have been great. This is my first TCG and I'm playing with my girls so this series has been instructive. So far I found the Ruby Emerald deck to be strong but it's clear experience of how to play and when not to, really comes into it.

The ruby/sapphire deck is worth it just for the Dragonfire alone. But its always fun watching these decks do their thing

These games are suprisingly fun to watch. Not sure I can afford a new TCG (even if I could find this game in store) but this does look pretty cool. I am more of a pokemo player and yugioh before that, I've neer played magic but I like the concept of this game.

I haven't actually played using the starter decks- I immediately mashed thr Amethyst and Steel bits together- but it certainly seems the Amber/Amethyst is the best deck as it gets some good draw power and retrieval. Top decking for multiple turns is not that fun. Great videos though and it's nice to see it done with real cards.

At 10:27, shouldn’t the grab your sword not be able to hit Aladdin cause of Ward? Meaning items/actions/songs are ineffective against Aladdin? He can only be challenged?

If a card says to everything, then Ward doesn't apply because there is no specific target

Ward means Aladdin can't be targeted by items/actions/songs. Unfortunately, grab your sword is an AOE, so it doesn't "target" a card, just deals damage to all.

I'm so sad to see my deck (Ruby/Emerald) has been doing so poorly! Nerdygirl is right though, for some reason Sapphire-Steel seems to have card that deal with the opponent much more efficiently...weird...

At 1:30 she says "and she has an ability that doesn't do anything anymore." What does she mean by this?

This means the character did something when it came into play or needed something to make the card work. Once that time passes to means the character doesnt do anything any more. Its a short cut to let the opponent know that it is not a card they have to worry about.

I'm sad that Ruby/Emerald made such a poor showing here. Especially since I went undefeated across 2 tournaments with it (6 rounds, 12 games). It definitely can be really bricky but if you know the matchups between the starter decks well enough it has the highest skill ceiling.

This game was underwhelming. The game is too simple that any "strategic" move seems too easy to figure to call it a good play. You're just working with cards in your hand, and considering simple mechanics, choosing the best play is almost entirely based on what cards you have. It's the same thing almost every round. Put resource in inkwell, quest, get your point. Or challenge and banish character.... Repeat. This is going to sound really mean, but it just seems like a game was created just to "do something with the card" because it's dumb to just stare and admire the art.
