Rampage ADV Tower Ep1 How I built my own tower for my KTM 690 Enduro

This is a video that shows my self built KTM 690 Enduro R Rally Navigation Tower.

The project took approx a month of which most of the time was spent on the design phase using On Shape CAD software. The aim of the tower was to be ready to start riding local Rally events that require a roadbook or GPS.
The design is based on what I feel the best-of-breed is from a couple of existing products found internationally.

No, sorry. Unfortunately we only focus on KTM and Husky due to the screen we use on the tower. However, the tower is separate from the mounting bracket so the tower can be fitted to any bike with a custom bracket.

Hey, is the CAD windscreen correctly dimensioned, and is it possible to get the file? Also how did you make the side fairings? And well done!

Hi Lars, on the 3D model the screen is not an exact replica. Its quite difficult to replicate in 3D modeling. But we use the OEM 450 KTM Dakar screen so in real-world its fine. The focus for the CAD 3D is the structure design which is precise. The side fairing are made from a bendable polycarbonate material and laser cut to shape. Fastened with DZus clips

Cool built! Is it a big difference with wind protection? Buffeting?

Thanks. Huge difference in wind and off-road all kinds of branches and protection. No buffeting. Although that's also dependent on your helmet, visor and height.

How are the side panels connected to the bike?

Hi, they slide underneath the existing panels as get fastened with a D clip.

That looks like a copy of the Nomad ADV tower?

We took a lot of inspiration from Nomad as well as RebelX and Raid garage towers. Having ridden with all of them, we designed the Rampage tower from scratch but using the elements from the various towers that worked best for us. The flat surface similar to Nomad was best for adventure biking by far. We have, since this video, made made new upgrades and changes.
