Rampage is a 1986 arcade game by Bally Midway.[1] Players take control of a trio of gigantic monsters trying to survive against onslaughts of military forces. Each round is completed when a particular city is completely reduced to rubble. Warner Bros. currently owns all rights to the property via their purchase of Midway Games.[2]

What's even longer is the way dedicated Rampage arcade players played this game. You can repeat the 128 day cycle a total of 5 times after you hit Plano and get the bonus vitamin. A total of 768 days (levels) are available until the day counter resets to 1. At the time this was discovered, dedicated players were disappointed with the lackluster ending sequence.

Count me in as one of those dedicated players. When I bought an arcade cabinet ten years ago my brother and I played this game all night to see if there was a "kill screen". Nope. To say the least we were pretty upset.

Thankfully the NES and Master System ports gave the game an ending But you had to earn the ending on the Master System because in the final city, you won't be able to continue.

Dear Warner Brothers, Since you own Most of the intellectual properties of Midway Games (Which also includes Leland Corp., Williams Electronics and Atari Games Corp.), You should partner with Digital Eclipse and release this game with all other Midway Arcade Classics for PC/MAC, Nintendo Switch, PS5 & XBOX Series S/X. The younger generations have never heard of these games.

holy shit im so glad i was able to grow up with this game. im 16 now, but finding it in my dads nintendo64 games when i was 6 was the best decision ive ever made. i look for it at every arcade just to terrorrize those cities :)

I played this game a ton on the Midway Arcade app when I was a young kid! Super fun :) I always played as Lizzie, and just assumed he was Godzilla.

Must be horrifying to wake up covered in ash, burn marks and bullet holes naked in a destroyed city take a few steps and then you lose control again

A lot of us including myself when we played this game believed that Lizzie was based on godzilla but Brian Colin the game designer for the first rampage game has revealed that Lizzie is actually based off off of the Ymir from 20 million miles to Earth. For 2 reasons: 1. Brian Colin was a huge fan of ray Harryhausen including myself I love ray Harryhausen movies. 2. Brian said that Lizzie had to fit in the same frame as George because because he claims that godzilla had is had a huge ass lol.
