I did this trail when I was 8. The lady at the sugar lands was like there is no way you can take your kids on that (I'm a twin) and then we set out to do it. It wasn't that hard....at least I don't remember it being strenuous or anything.... the waterfall is absolutely stunning no picture does it justice

Hiked this in 2011 and 2012. Got late start first time, didn't make it. Both times in late Nov. and was real cold. Made it the second time, was a hard trail but well worth it. Video brings back some great memories of my wife and daughter who trailed with me. Can't wait till 2013, what trail next, have done most of all the falls. Maybe Rainbow and Mingo.

great video.i just came back from the smoky mountains i staied in gatlinburgh.I hiked the ramsey cascades your right it wasnt a walk in the park but it was well worth the hike.my life time goal to hike every trail in the smokies...ha

i live on the s.c. coast.anyone know the closet access to gsm to me and maybe the best day hike and several day to a week hike from that access. thanks.

4 miles one way--8 miles total out and back.

Folks the bridge at 3:06 is very narrow and you can easily fall down the big drop down below. It is dangerous and if you are afraid of heights or don't have good balance, you will not want to cross it. We cross it in Oct 2015 but we will never do it again.

+Shafer Fine Art Not suitable for mountain bikes. The only trails in the park that bikes are allowed on are the Gatlinburg Trail and Oconaluftee River Trail. These are both trails with easy terrain. There are mountain biking trails in the national forest and recreation lands outside the park. Go to www.nps.gov/grsm/planyourvisit/biking.htm to get more info. Thanks!
