I think it's actually not Anyone can do it It happens with people with PTSD who struggle with dissociation [there's more to this but I can't remember the big words] but anyways something really small can trigger them to start dissociation or 'spacing out' some don't keep memory of this happening and to them it's as if they blinked or fell asleep Therefore Dream just knows Ranboo's trigger and uses it

He's named it his "Enderwalking state" it's basically when he sometimes does things that he cannot remember. He didn't even know he did this until Dream's voice that talks to him, while he's in his panic room, told him. When he's in this state, he's vulnerable to being controlled which is why Dream manipulates him and forces him to do things he would never do while awake, like help blow up the community house, help get TNT to explode L'manberg, get obsidian for Dream to build the walls around L'manberg, etc. Although, when Dream isn't controlling him, he pretty much just roams around in this state and acts completely like an enderman. In a couple of his streams, he records that he sometimes wakes up in a place he didn't fall asleep in and his pickaxes have been losing durability which is why he suspects that he is working on mining something in his enderwalking state. ":)" mostly triggers it, that's how Dream gets him to do what he wants whenever instead of having to wait till it triggers by itself. If he happens to talk while enderwalking, he speaks in enderman, if someone also looks him in the eyes, he will stare straight into theirs and the victim will be frozen until Ranboo looks away. Usually, if he's followed around too much by other people in the SMP, he will trident away and somehow disappear into midair (probably teleport) while the people following him are distracted. When he walks, he'll usually take either extremely sharp turns or very soft, organized turns and he walks in a perfectly straight line. Hope this helps explain it, Ranboo lore is confusing but fun! Basically he gets mind controlled by dream when he sees a smiley face and he does whatever dream says until someone punches him.

I will try to explain! It's like enderman sleepwalk, wich is a state that ranboo isn't exactly conscious (he says that he doesn't remember anything that happened while in it), when enderwalking, ranboo speaks and writes in ender language, and seems to show affection to tubbo (he gave him a flower while enderwalking once). The enderwalk is trigerred by stress, and Dreams knowa that. The smile is representing the panic room, something that really stressed ranboo, so it is a trigger. Hope it's clear!
