Being a sellout is changing your style and image to make money. Rancid has never done any of that. They have been true to what they have always been. When out come the wolves came out the turned down so many offers from major labels to stay with epitaph and have been with them ever since. They are truly a great punk rock band and will always be one of my favorites. Just because they have some popularity now doesn't mean they are sellouts. That's the farthest from the truth.

@@Gardner316 yeah, but you can change without betraying your own ideals and morals. rancid could have signed to major labels on several different occasions, and made more money on a 5-year, 3-album contract... but then they would have basically been creatively bound. epitaph's strongest point is their standing contract deal, 1 year, 1 album. it has allowed the guys the freedom to go separate ways and make their own music, from the transplants to lfb to devil's brigade, and much, much more. they aren't greedy, they're making enough to live on, and are still free to make the music they want to.

Selling out is when you push political trends for money, which includes NOFX, Green Day, Jello Biafra, Offspring, Circle Jerks, Bad Religion, and Rage Against the Machine.

well just for the record motorhead also did same thing years ago for the wrestler triple h from wwe wrestling. i seriously doubt youd say they did it because they needed a paycheck.

It's called being a fan of wrestling and being friends with the wrestler. They even gave her her name. This was a cool moment for her and I'm sure they were glad to do it.
