Those are not all gamepass subscribers. They are gamepass core which is Xbox live gold. That’s pretty bad

@@Amearie Even if all of those subscribers were Core paying $10/moth, thats $4.08b/year. With supposedly 12m of those 34m subscribers being core and the other 22m being GPU members, thats $6,192,000,000 that GP is generating every year. There is no way to spin that to where those are bad numbers.

With the rising costs of games and shrinking margins we will see a future where either there are no true exclusives or games will be $100-$150. I think timed exclusivity will more and more start to replace actual exclusivity. We already see Sony not being happy with the status quo and they are the "market leader".

THERE WAS DISGRUNTLED employees.. and also employees that were fired but MOVED to other parts of Microsoft. Let me finish you, this.... Phil did say that the fundamental exclusive buisness model hasn’t changed for them. He also gave criteria for games that could go to other consoles. Older(more than a year) Growth potential has stopped(no one is playing HiFi or Pentiment anymore) Community based games(Grounded and Sea of Thieves) I think if we get all these games in Game Pass day 1 on Xbox/PC and if some smaller titles need some more sales(for studio cash flow) or some multiplayer(not Halo/Gears/Forza) games could use a community boost for growth. I have no problem with that happening for 1+ year old games.

That's true, but he also confirmed by saying "smaller" games... and year(s) later.... and when asked about the bigger games he said NO. NO.. and then said AGAIN " please don't use this as a speculation that MORE BIG GAMES are coming" he said DON'T use this as speculation.. You can believe Nate the drake or not.. you can believe XBOX 3 PRESIDENTS or not.. but I will believe them a bit for now... 2024-2025, no BIG games.. my take.. 2026 around there MAYBE 1 or 2 medium-big games that means NOTHING like what was said.. XBOX DYING NOW,, ALL GAMES MOVING NOW.. I think they won't start with forza gears halo..? WHY? those are doing INSANE only on Xbox brand and GROWING... they don't need to take those out first.. maybe bigger exclusives that aren't GROWING.. like REDFALL.... not Forza halo infinite or starfield which all are still growing and GREAT incentives to buy xbox.. ALONGSIDE 2024 INDy jones (exclusive brand) Avowed + Hellblade 2 and most likely Gears 6/collection and/or Fable next gen needs to launch soon. Phil said if any game is read to show and LAUNCH in 2022 was FABLE.

Wwe raw is coming to Netflix, The network is there for live events for free. They don't show raw/smackdown live because fox and USA network have 4 week exclusivity.

Exclusive is the reason I have a PS5, If I could have all those games on Xbox then I wouldn't need it. Exclusive can't go away at console level, certainly can go PC ethier day one or some time after.

Starfield is 3 times better than Skull and Bones. I played Starfield over 80 hours and Skull and Bones over 20 hours. I'd give Skull and Bones a 3/10 and Starfield an 8.

For me this issue has highlighted the divide within the Xbox community. Those who play on console and those who don't. Those genuinely care about the fate of the console and those who don't. In my opinion PC players aren't Xbox players.

I’ve been a Xbox, PS, and PC gamer since 1976 when my mom dropped a TRS-80 onto the dining room table and announced, “I don’t know what to do with it but it is the future.” We programmed a simple game similar to missile command. It’s never been about the hardware for me, just the games. I have invested a lot of time and fun into Xbox. Over the past ten days the controversy over hardware hurt it’s brand for no reason. I am checking out each Xbox podcast to see if each of the “boys who cried wolf” would apologize, not deflect or rationalize. Unfortunately most of the Xbot podcasters have chosen the latter two. 😢

Agreed. Xbox took such a bad public relations hit from these leaks, they had to change thier schedule, & called for an emergency podcast to stop the bleeding. How somebody isnt getting thier ass sued into oblivion is beyond me. Sony would not tolerate this stuff & Nintendo damn sure wouldn't put up with it.

Thought they would get more console gamers during Covid but they just didn't? What is Jez talking about, there was a console shortage for most of Covid. The current consoles are dead narrative is BS. Even with the console shortage for a year or so and a bad economy, PS5 has sold as many as PS4 in same amount of time. And switch is set to become the best selling console of all time. Console sales are cyclical just like the economy, they are not going anywhere. Especially, if we start to see more powerful portable/dockable style consoles.

I wonder how PlayStation will play this. They either help the games from Microsoft flourish showing ftc/cma that the games should come to their platform or don’t and if Microsoft buy another publisher, maybe in Japan, Microsoft can point to the fact Sony don’t want Microsoft to succeed at all cost.

None of the core Xbox games will go to PlayStation, that’s what I got from the Xbox podcast. Smaller games and creator service games is a possibility. I would like it if we could stop speculate on whatever game is going to other platforms until Xbox announce it.

Did you really watch the Xbox Podcast Rand, Phil Spencer said he would start with ABK news, but because of all the rumors he wanted to tackle the exclusivity question first. Your reasoning doesn’t make sense. They wouldn’t jump right into the games going to other platforms. 🤦‍♀️

I don't really care that much about exclusivity. What I was worried about was the health and viability of Xbox as a platform. Putting all of Xbox big games on PlayStation and Nintendo would completely undermine the idea of Xbox as a platform. It's common sense, who would buy an Xbox if you could get all Xbox games and PlayStation games on one box? The platform would start to shrink and would likely mean less developers would release games for Xbox. That's what I cared about. Now, if you're talking about Starfield coming to PS5 in like 2028, WHO CARES? At that point the game will be 5 years old and with all the stuff Xbox has in development, nobody will be thinking about Starfield as a big console seller.

How do we know that some ppl who didn't want any games to go to other platforms. But after the podcast they realized that its out of their control. They barked and clawed to hopefully discourage xbox to not do that, but xbox told them "Hey we are doing it, sorry not sorry, but it isn't starfielf or Indiana" So what's the better of the 2 evils now ? If Xbox wants to release games on their competitor's platform and not expect their fans to instead buy all their games on that platform then give them a reason. How about Xbox games cost Sony prices? Just charge Sony double what they charge Xbox players and then no one feels betrayed. It's not like Playstation users haven't been gouged for years already, they can handle it.

It is very clearly 4 small games _for now_ . It takes very little reading between the lines to understand this is just the first batch of likely many more to come (depending on how it goes, as Jez said). I like their plan overall though. I think it makes sense given the state of the industry. (Hope a game like Halo Infinite's multiplayer is in the second batch).
