On a scale of 1-10, how excited are you for the Xbox Games Showcase & Starfield Direct?

We always hype these showcases up only for them to be underwhelming. But I really have a good feeling about this one. Please xbox, just get it right.

I honestly love all these shows during the Summer ...seeing all the new games is always awesome

10 / 10! I’m sure it’s going to be an AMAZING show! They are showing a lot of stuff and that’s all I asked for, even if not everything suits my taste it will be refreshing to finally see games we have been hearing about for years and not yet seen anything! This showcase will definitely give us a glimpse of Xbox’s roadmap for the next few years.

Hopefully this show lives up to the hype

If they show a lot of exclusive games coming to Xbox with new IPs plus games we have already seen with release dates and gameplay, 60 fps plus played on Xbox not on pc it would be a big W for Xbox

I think the reason for Xboxs Tweet was the "Coming to PS5" on the bottom of those 3rd Party trailers. For the people who aren't in the know, it sounds like "Only on PS5" due to Playstations track record. Plus they were mixed in with actual PS exclusives. It was kinda sneaky lol

This could quite possibly be the best showcase by Xbox of all time.

You do know Aaron has always been the person to keep telling everyone to temper their expectations, basically who some people thought for some reason to always “ruin the fun”. So the fact that he is showing hype is definitely something to take in

The big difference between Sony heading into their showcase and Microsoft heading into this one is the length of time since their studios released games. All of Sony's biggest studios had dropped games in the past 3 years. Meaning that bar Insomniac who's release cadence bucks industry averages, most of those studios won't have games for 2 to 5 years. Xbox on the other hand, has all these studios they acquired that haven't put out games for over 3 years. Meaning they should have lots of games coming in the next 2 years. Whether they are good or bad remains to be seen but there should be a stupidly high number of games on the way for Xbox.

I thought the underwear comment was a joke about that PS insider who said you will need an extra pair of underwear for the PS Showcase.

The reason why fans are so often disappointed with these shows is because the shows always include a bunch of games they're not interested in. Normally, if MS, Nintendo or Sony were to come out & reveal a highly anticipated game, people would be stoked. But if there's 40 other games shown off you don't care about, you somehow feel less excited. I see this all the time with Nintendo Directs. You had a ton of ppl begging for TotK or Metroid, then when they get it, people are still bummed the rest wasn't also huge bombshells. So even if MS shows off Fable, Avowed, Starfield, Forza, Everwilds & Hellblade 2, people will think a show is "mid" if the rest in between isn't massive reveals. Where's Perfect Dark? Where's the new Gears? Where's Elder Scrolls 6? Unless it's just reveal after reveal of huge rumored games, people will somehow be upset. They think EVERY game has to target their specific interests, even if MS is trying to give something for everyone.

Can't wait for the show.

I've not seen that many wild speculations around the showcase, most seem to be about games announced between 2020 and 2021, and I expect many would be ready for showing this year. However one thing he did say did temper my expectations, he said no 'full CGI' trailers, which suggests to me, we won't see games more than two years away from release as I would expect CGI for those. That' not a bad thing, if anything has me hopeful that the past 5 years of putting in the pieces to be able to deliver multiple first party games every year is finally starting to pay off and we are going to see 'Xbox has no games' meme well and truelly die.

I’m excited for sure. I think two gameplay walkthroughs, Starfield walkthrough and a good amount of further explaining of 2020s stuff would be enough for me to call it great

10 as in 10x better than the PlayStation showcase.

Can't wait. I'm going to the Melbourne Showcase event (as I did last year) and after what we were subjected to from Sony, this can't not be a great event!

I'm not even sure they took the CG thing to heart as much as the stuff is just ready to show now. But I think the show will be at least a 9/10. You know, based on my expectations, which are different from what others may have.

I think this is going to be that banger showcase we’ve been waiting for and the next couple of years are going to be awesome for Xbox.

God I hope they announce a collectors edition for Starfield. It's been too long since an Xbox first party game had an Official collectors edition (Halo Infinite's merchant made ones don't count)

I won’t lie I’m mad hyped for this, would love to see hellblade 2 gameplay, I would pass out if we got a gears 6 teaser or trailer, very much looking forward to fable. Very very excited man hope we get some crazy stuff

All the studios they purchased in 2018-2019 will finally start showing results.I expect Hellblade II and Avowed to launch in 2024.Also, Imagine if they revealed Quake reboot by id software...

Hellblade 2 has already been shown a few times. But there’s enough hype around the game to show it again. The only one I’m not sure on is state of decay 3, ever wild, and outter worlds 2. I doubt those are here

It really doesn’t matter what games they show if they don’t release games not to their potential. And they need bangers right now. They need a 3rd person action/adventure game. Everyone doesn’t like 1st person games all the time

Xbox showcases have been the best in recent years which is why I am hyped as usual for the upcoming showcase.

If I see State of Decay 3 then I’ll be extremely satisfied. Can’t wait to see StarField but SOD3 is the game I wanna see. 🎉

I'll still keep my expectations tempered, but this confidence means they have something big planned and ready. I guess the show can, AT THE VERY LEAST, be better than the PlayStation Showcase

Like most of us, I too will keep my expectations normal/low, but I do have a feeling this showcase will be really good. I’m excited for SOD3, hopefully they show gameplay.

I honestly think they'll start the show with fable. If they close the show it kind of ruins the tease since they usually say in these conferences, "we have one more thing to show you." I think the end should be held for something that's a bit .more of a surprise. Like a new game announcement.

Wont hype until I see everything but I am intrigued. Really hope its good though. My wishes include: Hellblade gameplay and reveal, a look at what Coalition is doing, Update on Perfect Dark, Fable, Avowed and dare I say a new Banjo and Killer Instinct looll

Fable, Hellblade , Starfield are three big titles . If they nail those with some dates and give the avowed fans something to chew on as well this will be a success of a showcase

My hypebis a solid 8 I really do believe that Xbox is taking notes and learning. from their mistakes and from PlayStations too. I think it will be an amazing event with some cool unexpected surprises...

I'm still tempering expectations until the show is over but I was going to be happy with Starfield, Forza & Hellblade...so adding Fable, maybe Avowed & 1 or 2 new 1st party announcements would be good enough...along with a bunch of new / updates for third party Game Pass games will be a great show

I’m skeptical to be honest. However they did have a pretty damn good Xbox direct when Hifi Rush was shadow dropped. We know that Starfield is going to be there and have it’s own direct showcase, that in itself already has the Sony showcase beat by a mile. The one question nobody asked A.A.Ron was will the gameplay be “captured on PC” or actual series X footage? That’s one of my concerns.

My excitement is at a 5 to a 6 due to the strikes against them concerning Starfield. Strike 1 was them shooting themselves in the foot saying nov 11/22 was the release date...DELAYED to EoFY23. Strike 2 is it's being released at 30fps instead of 60fps that they said it would be released at. If the delay until EoFY23 was to make sure they released it running at 60fps then more power to them, but as of right now that doesn't seem to be the case. So what's really going on? That's the main reason why i've lowered my excitement level.

my attitude now regarding anything xbox is that i'll believe it when i see it.

I'm definitely excited...on a scale from 1-10 probably an 8. I do try to keep my expectations in check, but I'd say I'm more optimistic for this showcase than I have been for any Xbox showcase in quite some time.

Always temper expectations is what I've learned. Always.

I feel like content creator hype is a little too high, and even journos are creating absurd lists on par with those fake leaks. I'm not necessarily saying "temper expectations", but I think folks should be expecting the unexpected (and not something bigger than expected). Nice indies and third party game pass inclusions. Maybe some stuff for 2024;. Maybe one known or semi-known thing for 2023.

I'm telling everybody to be hype AFTER the presentation. It feels like we're blowing our load early.

A win for me is opening the with shadow drop of Banjo Kazooie for ColtEastwood, followed with Fable gameplay and 10-12 of the expected showing 2-5min on XIS hardware 15 reveals of things to come 1-3mins... 5-10 new projects coming in the future. Closing the show with Forza, Starfield & Live is now free for all plus family game pass coming this year... Announce more compact all digital Xbox seriers XIS Elite revised console coming 24-25. Xbox wins back its belts they lose and loose the black eye they've been sporting for past decade. IMO

Honestly how I'm seeing this whole situation with xbox is strictly: I'm just gonna go wild with expectations. I've been let down for a couple years, one last trip to the well and I guess I'll just see if I'm happy at all

As an Xbox player, I'm keeping my expectations pretty low. But if they somehow knock it out of the park then I'll be genuinely surprised.

Compared to all other “E3’s”. I’m at a 10 for this one!

1. I am going to watch it with very low expectations. That way I can't be disappointed.

Here's how I'm approaching this showcase. It's going to start at a 10 out of 10, and based on what I see I'll be adding and subtracting points. In fact here are some guidelines. Things that will raise the score: fantasy RPGs, non-soulsbourne action adventure games and anime fighting games Things that will lower the score: Forza, live service games, shooters, Minecraft and superheroes.
