This is the event where I choose to sell my Xbox. I want AAA games. Not indie or low budget trash. I don't have enough time in my life these days to play games that I don't care about.

True, but we’ve never been in this position before either. This is the first time Xbox has had 23 studios with the majority of them 3-5 years into their next games. 2024-2026 should be stacked for first party releases and hopefully this showcase shows that.

I actually expect the Kojima Xbox game to be revealed at either the showcase this year or at one of the Keighley events, assuming it follows a similar timeline that Death Stranding did. Kojima announced his first partnership with Sony back in 2015 after leaving Konami and then, a year later, they revealed Death Stranding with a CGI trailer. I think there's a pretty good chance that the Kojima Xbox game - which is apparently a horror game called Overdose - will be at this year's showcase. Further evidence that supports this assumption of mine is that - in Kojima Productions' New Years video from December 2022 - Kojima mentions how he's going to share more info on Death Stranding 2 and his other unannounced projects in 2023. So yeah, it'll probably be at the showcase, I think. Or maybe at The Game Awards.

I’d be surprised if we see it in less than 2 years. Last we heard of it was literally just a confirmation of a rumor with zero elaboration. We do know it’s experimental (which reminds me that Xbox started a whole experimental cloud game development arm) and apparently a massive project not possible without Microsoft and azure cloud technologies. We know basically nothing about the game. Its easily more elusive than the Elder Scroll VI right now.

And wait for another delay😂

I want some AAA crazy graphics exclusives. I went with Xbox this gen because of games like Halo. That's the kinda games I want.

Perfect Dark has been in development hell for a long time, so I wouldn't hold your breath on that one, unfortunately. I think there's a good chance we finally see Fable gameplay though.

@ Lor Fable is the I worry most about, since Booty said it was remade for a global modern audiences and modern sensibilities; in others words its going to be woke. Fable going woke makes as much sensen as Saints Row going woke.

@@afcansf5996 1) people forger saints row died at the 4th game and then briefly came back to life with Gat out of hell. The reboot was just the nail in the coffin 2) Yeah no. Saints Row was more woke in the third game. Also from how you worded your comment I question whether you know what woke means (which puts you right there with most of twitter and the internet (though I guess with how language works that will soon become the definition much like mary sue means nothing now)). In general you seem to be confusing it with being progressive which is more likely a statement on how the game is being developed, what features it will have, and what gameplay changes will be made (which is potentially more alarming since a lot of modern AAA gaming choices suck away the fun).

There’s nothing wrong with it running at 30 at a showcase, I say this as a ps fan. Everything these companies show is running in resolution mode at showcases even when they have a performance mode.

They ll most likly be pc versions since that's how marketing works you always show the best version of your product.. the only reason sony doesnt do that is cause pc versions dont even exist till years later

Yep. I need a drink after reading these comments. I realize that there's nothing I can say to change minds about Xbox. They just have to deliver at showcase and then start releasing great AAA games consistently. That's the only thing that's going to heal this and win back mindshare.

They don’t have a lack of content or a bad content problem. They have a terrible marketing problem. Last year in their “drought” they had a lot of great AA releases and creative smaller projects like pentiment, grounded (full release), scorn, and dusk falls. All of which were barely talked about. This year we’ve gotten quite a few first party games already. Hi-Fi Rush (saw fantastic critical acclaim), AOE 2 DE on console (an amazing RTS game and fantastic console port), Minecraft Legends (saw good reviews and is easily Microsoft’s biggest first party IP), and Redfall. *Four major first party console releases in five months with only one being a miss.* The problem is that Microsoft really ONLY marketed the miss. AOE was treated like a port and not full game release in terms of marketing (which is fair but not the position the publisher should take). Hi Fi rush got nothing post release when it should have gotten a ton of marketing focusing on how good everyone said it was and a physical release. Minecraft legends was radio silent despite being their biggest first party IP and a great example of them fulfilling promises to release major games multiplat. Heck, Halo Infinite saw its best MP update around when Redfall launched but they couldn’t do anything to market it to save their lives. Halo Infinite is fantastic now between forge and consistent content updates and playlists but it won’t matter if they don’t give it heavy marketing.

What’s left game pass ? Plus you save money if it’s a 3rd party game if its leaving by 20% 10dollars a month verses 70 a game hmmmmmm lol 😂

@@dbszady I agree the games that aren’t on gamepass I have no problem dropping full price on since I save so much money on gamepass plus I find so many hidden gems because I don’t have to worry about wasting money

But indie games are better than triple A stuff anyway... I played Hogwarts for like 30 minutes and was like "well, I know how this will go for the next 10 hours, next". Maybe that is because I have been gaming since the mid 80's... I play for an hour or less and know exactly how the experience is going to be for the rest of the game and thus are not going to waste my time with it.

@@Planetdune I like indie games, but we really lack AAA games from Xbox. If all I played was indie games, I would have never bought a series X. I want something that can only be achieved on a powerful console.

@@Planetdunestop, indies games are not better than TLOU part II, GOW Ragnarok, Ghost of Tsushima, Elden Ring, FF VII Remake, RE 4 remake etc.. Indies games are cool but we didn’t buy a 500€ next gen console for playing mediocre indies games whôs running on XBOX 360....

If nothing else Xbox does a great job entertaining and incorporating fans into shows. There’s gonna be floor shows at certain events and some people like major nelson traveling, last year the fan fest stream was cringe but fun high energy cringe, and now they’re even giving away tickets for showings at a movie theater with some snack credits (I imagine they’ll be gone fast though). They at least do a lot to make these showcases pretty big fan events even without e3. Though this is also why I wish they’d have more small digital only info oriented showcases in the year like the developer direct. Keep June’s showcase as a massive Xbox Fan and Information event, but add in more info only consistent updates.

Last xbox shows have been pretty good..really I think it all depends on what games interest you more..

I know the developer is working on an original IP currently. I’d like to see another Gears Tactics or a Halo Tactics version.

I think the 12 month thing went pretty well. Saying its a failure is why we get showcases like Sony’s and the now “on break” e3. About half of the games did launch within the 12 months promised which is pretty good considering how many were shown. The main thing is it forced Microsoft to show gameplay and games they and developers they worked with (first and third party) we’re confident would release in a year so we knew they were pretty far along. Compare that to the likes of e3 where we only see cgi trailers and don’t even get release windows or the sony showcase that just happened where we don’t even know what many of the games show are even about. Microsoft saying “these games are planned to release on Xbox in a year” and us rolling our eyes is one of the best situations we can get for a big showcase. Short of Microsoft only announcing games when they’ll release that month or like the next day for them to be positive.

I got tired of waiting for Playstation to put something out so I went out and got a series X . Both showcases need to show us something because honestly there haven't been a lot of games released lately. I think the latter half of this year will be good for both platforms.

My suggestion would be to play somthing then instead of waiting since new games hit xbox every single month.. there is absolutely no need to wait unless you actually want too

@@dusermiginte4647 agree 💯 I think it is going to only get worse for Sony. They don't (as of yet even after a showcase) have a roadmap for 2024. Going to live service the way they want to is going to have a negative impact on them . Lastly this is now Jim Ryan's Playstation and you can see it's live service and overpriced hardware. I really think Xbox is on the way up and they will really hit with the games.

@@De1usionsofGrandeur I am in a different category of gaming because I am retired and will game for 12 hours a day minimum 😁 I really can go though games and the Playstation became dry for me. Because I game so much I use Gamepass and Playstation plus (just recently ) I really like both consoles I just lean towards Xbox now.

@@De1usionsofGrandeur you haven't been paying attention what Blizzard is been working on to have native control support. Plus the PC game pass has been data mined before and they found lines of code with "World or Warcraft Complete Xbox edition ". Look it up also that is really old news. When the deal goes through WoW will be on at least the pc gamepass. Makes no sense to pay for two subscription when u can pay one and keep playing WoW plus all the extra games u get to play

Even an Xbox content creator that I know here on KZfaq told me just how much he thinks Xbox has failed and how he's lost faith in the brand. He even took issue with me merely saying that I was looking forward to what was coming down the pipe. So people are very down right now and there's nothing I can impart that's going to change their minds. It makes it hard to be part of the community. At the same time, based on what we know is coming, I am excited as hell. I think we're heading into a new golden age of Xbox. It might sound "out there", but there's just no way Obsidian, nXile, Bethesda, Ninja Theory, Playground, The Initiative + Crystal Dynamics, Rare and their other studios are all going to fail us. I just don't believe that.

Maybe people are just tired of waiting and waiting for Xbox to deliver. There has been games to play and enjoy but when you invest hundreds of dollars into an ecosystem, you expect to have some big tentpole exclusives, and that just hasn't happened. We're almost three years into the console life cycle.
