"...Grew up dreaming of playing the role of Aladdin.
Eventually I auditioned for the role at Disney's California Adventure and made final cuts two years in a row but wasn't cast either time, and quit auditioning. Years later my dream resurfaced.
Lea surprises her audience by inviting a random enthusiastic volunteer to take on the role of Aladdin and join her on stage to sing 'A Whole New World' ...that night SHE PICKED ME!!
I dreamt for 20 years of playing Aladdin(also for many years dreamed of performing alongside Lea Salonga) and couldn't believe my dream was coming true! It was a perfect night." - DREAM HARD . CHASE HARDER 😎

The guy has a really good ear for singing: not only does he get the timing right, the vibrato, tone, volume but he harmonizes beautifully on the fly! Bravo! 🖤

That's what vocal training does. It's the entire point. He's very clearly a singer already, or at least trains. His technique is too spot on, especially his breathing and mouth movement. No-one untrained does these things, let alone thinks about them.

I love that if you watch closely, you see him blink and go "wait...is that the right note?" with his facial expression at the end of the line, but he didn't panic and pull off the harmony in any way, and it was indeed the right note. Not just great performance, but a certain amount of confidence to realize he was nailing it.

This performance was a magical memory for that man and us to, I enjoyed it very much as it is my favorite Disney song. I can relate to this performance, I was a singer in a band at a fair in Georgia and Miss Georgia was there signing autographs and someone in my band asked her to come up and sing with us on "I'll Fly Away" so I found myself sharing my mic with her. After that she became 1st runner-up to Miss America 1994 Kara Martin.

My wife and I were there in the front row. It was a great moment in the show. What was impressive was that we could hear Lea directly over the sound coming from the loudspeakers. What a voice.

Thanks . Yeah i was called back for the role at Disneyland years before this night... so I had to drill those harmonies . Hardest part of the whole audition for sure lol

That was what got me. Most of us know the song well (and I'm not gonna fault Jared referring to the lyric sheet under pressure, I probably would have to as well). But he NAILED those harmonies.

Jared what a memory! I first saw Lea by accident, when I took my fiancé at that time to see a small musical called Miss Saigon in London 1991. Little did I know I would see her many times again. She lasted far longer than my fiancé.

I’ve been listening to this video since my granddaughter was six and loved it. When she was 12, she played Jasmine in Dis. Jr. production at school and did an awesome job,,, I still love Jared’s voice with Lea!, (now she’s off at college and we still love Disney!)

Apart from a couple of dropped lines, they had a real bit of chemistry that fits the song perfectly. The nervous but passionate male lead and the strong independent and fearless female being taken on that magical carpet ride.

I saw Aladdin when it came out on my 9th birthday and I've always had this weird fear of seeing the REAL Jasmine because I didn't think she would live up to my expectations of cartoon Jasmine. So I've basically avoided watching any behind-the-scenes footage for 29 years. After seeing this I can finally say that THE REAL JASMINE IS INCREDIBLE IN EVERY WAY AND HAS EXCEEDED MY EXPECTATIONS!! She seems so nice and fun and incredibly talented 🤗
