15:44 I agree with this, knotting row by row is a pain and I segment knot when I can, but I can only read patterns row by row as I can never figure out how to segment knot a bracelet from a pattern. Btw I really love your videos Masha ❤️

You should get a tool called a beading awl. It’s a metal tool that has a sharp tip that gets slightly larger towards the handle. It’s made for undoing knots! It’s wonderful it works for embroidery floss and single threads.
@janelleyao4 жыл бұрын
Those people who say segment knotting is hard, say that because they don't want to learn how, I was following a arrowhead pattern and watched your video tutorial because the row by row method was takin way to long, segment knotting made it so much easier!

Thanks for featuring my opinions! I really do like alphas, I just wish I knew how to make mine look prettier (for some reason the pattern stretches out when I make them), and the parts where there aren't long sections of the same color bug me. Also with the crimp ends, I have this weird fear of gluing stuff instead of knotting it (I guess I see knotting as more secure than gluing). I sell my bracelets so I don't want to risk them falling apart or wearing out in any way.

Unpopular Opinion: I'm desperately right-handed and yet, backward knots are a million and a half times easier for me than forward knots are. I can do forward knots just fine, but in terms of speed, I can make 10 backward knots to every 2 forward knots. Crazy, I know. I flip all of my patterns to make as many knots as possible backward knots because most people prefer forward knots so most patterns are mostly forward knots. All my candy stripes also go the other direction because of that. :)

Idk if its an unpopular opinion or not, but I'm fairly new to making bracelets and reading patterns. I hate when theres a dark color (black, navy, etc) and the arrow isn't white or a light color on top. I can never read them and thus can't do the patterns of bracelets I really want to do.

Hey Masha, I wonder if I can ask for an advise for working with big threads? In one of your tutorials you say you work with the whole thread, but if feels too big for me? Maybe it is because I'm not used to it.
@MashaKnots5 жыл бұрын
Bobbins! But if you get them get the plastic ones and not cardboard
@KaulaNBR5 жыл бұрын
@@MashaKnots Thank you! I have some at home I can reuse for that. I might take the cardboard the big thread has out now that I can and make the thread into bobbings as you suggest. This reminds me on a thing. Have you ever tried a tutorial on how to work with the same pattern and different widths of thread? I would love to make a big pixelated image that I'm terrified to try because if a patter like the planets one is wide enough, I don't even want to imagine what it would look if I make, let's say, something with 60 strands or so. You love challenges? We can try as a community something weird like this 😂😂😂😂

I even have a patter from a cross stitch thingie with 142 threads. I would try it with regular thread, but I know it's going to be the end of me. I love experimenting with these stuff!
