Before he was known for some destination courses in a little town called Bandon, Mike Keiser spent his time playing “wilderness golf” on Lake Michigan, aiming at trees and other natural targets on a plot of untouched forest.
It’s this peculiar beginning that grabbed Erik Anders Lang’s attention, and inspired him to trace Keiser’s path from the nine short holes of the Dunes Club to a world-renowned 121-hole complex in Oregon. On this podcast, Erik sits down with this singular golf mind to learn about the yin and yang between business and natural beauty in the world of golf. To a developer like Keiser, they’re the perfect twosome. Some good dunes don’t hurt, either.

Well done!! What a great watch!! I live literally 10 mins from Bandon Dunes. I give so much thanks to Mr. Keiser and owe him single handedly for this game that I love. If it wouldn't have been for him amd what he built here, I dont know that I would be playing this game today. I have met Michael a number of times and he is just the kindest, gracious and down to earth personable person I have had the pleasure of meeting. Nice job Eric and one of these days we will be meeting up to get a quick Shorty's round at the Bandon Practice Center!!

Loved this. Especially the USGA bashing 😉 as a teenager who made his money caddying, big fan of Keiser's advocacy of club caddies. Makes a huge difference to the club, the experience and the individuals on the bag. Top work EAL.

There are people in this world that have made their stamp on their industry and sometimes you get lucky enough to meet the ones in the world that is also your passion. I have been in rooms and had conversations and even been mentored with these successful individuals. This is one of those great opportunities. Not sure I would say Erik was intimated, as much as he obviously has tremendous respect for Mr. Keiser and wanted to pull out the best information possible from him (pressure on himself to not F-it up. lol) . Enjoyed the "random wanderings" when Erik would lose his train of thought for a moment. Exceptionally honest and direct answer's from Mr Keiser made the VLOG incredibly interesting. Erik and his team's skills are on full display here as they capture a moment in time. Wonderful way to spend an hour.

It's ok to keep some notes in front of you, Erik. I know you're trying to keep it as natural and free-flowing as possible - which it most certainly is. But I was feeling for you when you were struggling to remember some questions there lol. Maybe just keep a couple of bullet points on a napkin? ;) Love the content as usual & so stoked to do a golf trip to Bandon. Peace.

Wow! Great interview! Mike is too humble to touch upon the community he saved in the process, and, yes Eric was a wee intimidated, but this was far superior to a shor by shot video and incredibly informative Pacific Gales? Dunes and firm fast turf. Sand is easy to work with as well and very natural. Feeling of nature
