Randy was so humble lol wen Ozzy heard him at his audition he said " God sent me him" And on tour the kid would go to local music stored and get lessons just to see what more he can learn Big heart that kid and still NO1 can come close to his writing or playing

01:05 Listen to the level of empathy in Randy's voice when he says "I know," regarding Ozzy's depression. That is what truly separates Randy Rhoads from other guitarists- and other people as well. The enormity of his heart!

Some of this footage I've never seen before. I've seen the pro shot stuff but most of it seemed to be shot from the side of the stage near the bassist. I can't remember seeing it right in front of Randy when he was shredding out. The whole stage show of the Diary tour was beyond epic. It was absolutely perfect. If I could go back in time and see only one show it very well may be Ozzy with Randy on the Diary tour. I would pay a decent amount to have this footage especially with the tech they have today to help clean up everything.

Absolutely....if I could go back to see one show..it would be Randy on the Diary tour. That stage set cost $250k..We all would pay a decent amount of money for a full clear show as well as a Biopic/Documentary on Randy. That straight shot of the stage was so beautiful as well as the close up of him shredding. We are definitely missing out on perfect footage that hasn't been released! And it hurts not being able to see it.

@MatthewL-o8w 28 күн бұрын
I'm grateful for KZfaq, as I believe it will help preserve a lot of material that would otherwise be lost, and I am sure there is plenty of stuff locked up in "lawyer land"... I don't know if you are talking about Randy Rhoads (I don't know about Ozzy stuff), but I fear that if it's not out there now, a lot of the good quality live audio &/or video stuff in existence is either already lost to time (no masters or decent copies out there), or destined to be lost either through age and degeneration, or the death of someone (the sole possessor of a recording dies and it is tossed in the trash when things are gone over, located somewhere no one knows about, or locked up in lawyer land). There has been priceless recordings of things, both live and in the studio, that was tossed when a vault was cleared, taped over, or lost in a warehouse somewhere, already tossed or destroyed, never to be heard again. Makes me sick to think about, and grateful for what is out there, and always on the hunt for new gems out there!

Randy had funny little quirks he would do.....like putting on a British accent to throw people off. He also had funny secret words he would say to people, like "Do you have a Rayburn"?? instead of "do you have a match"?? Gene Rayburn being the host of the tv game show Matchgame. Lol....he had a little wicked sense of humor at times.

you are half right about the British accent...in the pre Quiet Riot days, him and Kelly Garni would talk in fake British accents to mess with people. But then...when he hooked up with Ozzy and went to England, he actually picked up an accent from just being around Ozzy etc...what you hear here is actually real!!...Kelly teased him about it so bad when they saw each other in 1981...kind of a funny lil story...

I can't think of one major arena touring band that doesn't have at least some shows on film. The footage is there.. unfortunately it's in Sharon's greedy hands and no one else can release anything without her say so since she owns the rights to everything Randy did for Ozz. Randy would have loved nothing more than for all of us to be able to see him at his best. Unfortunately it'll take a miracle for her to put the money into production and fixing Ozzy's lousy vocals..plus she wants to keep him relavent to younger fans who have no idea about his history and all the musicians they've screwed over the years. Sad to say the least.

Very true!! He wasn't happy about that! The only reason he stayed was cause he was so new to the rockstar/gtr g/d world and felt like he couldn't do anything about the firings. That's when he brought in Rudy and they brought Tommy in. He went along with the program but definitely wasn't happy about it. We would have gotten one more Album and possibly one more tour had he lived cause he was contracted for one more. But I'm sure you know all this already. Either way it's awful how they've done nothing for his memory and legacy. They put out Tribute but that was far from the best stuff they could have released.
