A&Z #1059 - Professional eater Randy Santel and "Eager" Ethan Teske each vs Mom's Kitchen's "Packer Backer" Cheesy Wisconsin Breakfast Challenge w/ Apple Fritter French Toast hosted by Mom's Kitchen in Eau Claire, Wisconsin!! ‪@KatinaEatsKilos‬ and I attempted a few food challenges earlier this year in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. After that weekend, our friend Luke invited us each up to his restaurant Mom's Kitchen that is located nearby in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Our friend "Eager" Ethan Teske came over from the southern Minnesota area to join us and we each took on and helped kick off Mom's Kitchen's new "Packer Backer" Cheesy Wisconsin Breakfast Challenge. Katina attempted the challenge after Ethan and I went. We each had 1 hour to feast on one of the best breakfast dishes I've ever had, Mom's "Packer Backer" but 4x the size of the normal portioned breakfast. It has hash browns, healthy grilled onions & green peppers, lots of Johnsonville bratwurst slices, scrambled eggs, and fried Wisconsin cheese curds, all smothered with homemade hollandaise sauce. The challenge also included a double portion of Mom's popular Apple Fritter French Toast which was covered with Mom's homemade apple pie filling. We were each trying to win our $40 breakfast meals free plus sweet t-shirts and spots on Mom's Wall of Fame. BIG thanks to the owner Luke and everyone with Mom's Kitchen in Eau Claire for the wonderful food, drinks, cinnamon roll dessert, and hospitality!! Special thanks to everyone from around the Eau Claire area who came to watch and meet us that early afternoon. Mom's Kitchen's Supersized "Packer Backer" Wisconsin Breakfast Challenge in Eau Claire, WI ($40):
- Mom's Kitchen has been serving the Eau Claire, Wisconsin area since back in 1998.
- Mom's Kitchen is now owned by our friend Luke who invited us to help kick off this challenge.
- The "Packer Backer" is one of their most popular breakfast dishes and it is extra delicious!!
- The name comes from the original owner being a huge Green Bay Packers NFL football fan.
- The main entrée is a "Packer Backer" 4x the size of a normal portion with 4-5x hash browns, 4x diced Johnsonville bratwurst pieces, 4x fried Wisconsin cheese curds, 4x healthy grilled onions & green peppers, 8 scrambled eggs (4x2), pickled jalapenos that Ethan and I each added, and that is all smothered with lots of Mom's hollandaise sauce.
- This challenge also features a double portion of Mom's Apple Fritter French Toast (6 slices).
- Apple Cinnamon bread is covered with French toast batter and they are smothered with Mom's homemade apple pie filling and lots whipped cream.
- There is a 1 hour time limit to finish. There are no other drinks, sides, or desserts required.
- Winners earn the $40 breakfast for free plus a sweet t-shirt and spot on the Wall of Fame!!
