A&Z #1016 - Randy Santel vs Sami's 15-Egg Monster Country Breakfast Omelet Challenge at Sami's Family Restaurant in Joplin, Missouri. After canceling the rest of my planned Texas & Southwest USA Tour at the end of June 2021, I headed home and let my body rest and recover for about 1 month. Then I made the trip from Milwaukee, Wisconsin back to Springfield, Missouri so I could fully move the rest of my stuff out of my apartment I lived in while attending Missouri State University. I spent a week attempting 7 different food challenges within a reasonable driving distance from my apartment. For final food challenge #7, I traveled back to Joplin, Missouri so I could attempt Sami's 15-Egg Monster Country Breakfast Omelet Challenge hosted by Sami's Family Restaurant Joplin. I had 30 short minutes to feast on a delightful 15-egg breakfast omelet filled with sausage and other breakfast meats, plus lots of shredded cheese and it was all smothered with sausage gravy and shredded cheese. The challenge included 1lb of hash brown potatoes and 3 made-from-scratch buttermilk biscuits. It was all supposed to weigh around 5lbs/2.28kg total and I was trying to become the 2nd person to win my $36 omelet meal free plus a sweet t-shirt and spot on Sami's Wall of Fame!! BIG thanks to everyone with Sami's Family Restaurant in Joplin, Missouri for the fantastic food, drinks, and hospitality!! Thanks also to the amazing people who came up that warm July afternoon to watch and meet me!! Sami's Family 15-Egg Monster Country Breakfast Omelet Challenge in Joplin, Missouri ($36):
- Sami's Family Restaurant opened up back in 2013 to serve the Joplin, Missouri area.
- This 15-Egg Monster Country Breakfast Omelet Challenge started just a few years ago.
- There is a 15-egg omelet stuffed with sausage and other meats plus lots of shredded cheese.
- The omelet is topped with lots of sausage gravy plus more shredded cheese. It is delicious!!
- It comes with 3 large baked-from-scratch buttermilk biscuits and supposedly 1lb of hash browns.
- The biscuits and potatoes get covered with gravy too, and there is a 30 minute time limit to finish.
- Winners earn the $36 breakfast meal free plus a sweet t-shirt and spot on Sami's Wall of Fame.

Just to clarify what I said about this being my most disappointing food challenge... I have had events go a lot worse than this one, but I had low expectations for them, or knew they might not go well. Therefore, they weren't really that disappointing. I had high hopes for this one going great, which wasn't the case. It's all good though and best wishes to everyone with Sami's. Great Job Randy. The people at Sami’s should really apologize to you. The picture proof between what your friend ate in 16 minutes compared to what they fed you should of been enough for an apology. Until they say something I know myself and my friends are steering clear of that restaurant. Once again thanks for staying positive. You gave them a lot more respect then what they gave you!!!

In spite of Randy's gracious response to their underhandedness, I would personally never patronize an establishment that treated an honest, trusting patron in such a fashion. The whole purpose of promotions like this is to promote the restaurant, increase their business and foster a good community relation. Being greedy, two-faced and underhanded is most definitely *not* the way to do that.

What we don't agree about is that the only possible reason there could be more food is because they are somehow bad people and dishonest. They could have cheated him, but it's also possible the chef who made this plate wasn't even working there when the last challenge was served and has never seen a picture of it like me and you

It makes me mad when they try to cheat a great competitor. You bring a lot of $ to these businesses when you do your challenges since I see most of your fans order a meal, or at the very least a desert and drink. They should be grateful and play fair. Randy, you are a class act--venting your aggravation but reminding viewers not to swamp the restaurant with hate. Since he isn't paid by the win/loss ratio, I appreciate Randy being the best sport he can be given the circumstances. Nothing wrong with adding his doubts (and supporting evidence) about the challenge while giving it his best try. I can't imagine trying to argue with the refs makes for a satisfying experience. I'd rather he just show us what happened, remind us to be respectful (but mindful if you decide to take the challenge yourself) and move on.

Awesome job as usual, Randy! I was bothered by how they tried to screw you over with the extra food. This move is not ideal for the integrity of their business and they will be facing some backlash even though you are trying to prevent that. They should honor the challenge parameters regardless of the competitor. Either follow the rules or remove the challenge entirely. Plain and simple. We have family near Joplin, MO, and have eaten there before, BUT NO MORE !!! If Sami's cannot conduct their business HONESTLY, knowing that this video will go out to KZfaq, and all your followers, and you most definitely are promoting their restaurant, and they treat you like this,...we cannot and will NOT, frequent their location, ever again. Its very possible that a different chef made the challenge or that it was an honest mistake to put more food. There is no reason to automatically assume they are bad people or tried to cheat Randy. Jumping to conclusions like that makes you sound like my ex girlfriend LoL

Randy Santel, could and would only bring good publicity to Sami's Resturant...BUT THEY MADE IT BACKFIRE ON THEM. We as a family and my friends will be made aware of what they did and will not frequent this establishment. We only deal with HONEST PEOPLE...

As someone who comes from sales, I can tell you the ripples in a pond from reviews, comments or word of mouth are 10 fold for negative vs positive ones. Someone has a good experience, they may tell 1 or 2 people. Someone has a bad experience, the put it on high blast. Someone probably thought they were being cute here in adding so much to this challenge. Not another winner, humiliation of one of the best, or worst (and dumbest), to save money. Now they have all this.

I mean... who on Earth would WANT to go eat at a place that would try and sabotage RANDY SANTEL in an eating challenge? He's such a nice dude with endless class. Even when they tried to get one over him - he STILL put on a nice face, SMASHED the challenge, AND happily talked up the restaurant! What an absolute beast and inspiration of a man... Randy just rocks! He's a genuinely great guy, through and through.

I think that when the owner of the restaurant (supposedly named Sami) heard you coming he thought sabotage...owner needs to go on the top 10 bad food challenges list..you should print a flyer for your challenges with a rule that states overloading the platter on the challenge is not allowed and I will walk if this is discovered...if you mr. owner want to be a snot to food challengers it's not going to be on my watch.....thats my opinion.

Randy I love the fact that you are such a gracious person!!! But hun they should have been honest and not gave you twice as much food as they gave Ethan half as much as they did you!!!!! The restaurants need to be completely honest and treat all challengers the same!!! It makes me mad that they keep doing this to you. But I'm still so proud of you for being able to complete the challenge. But your so honest and humble!!!!! Some of the restaurants need to be as honest and humble as you!!!
