Bluffing doesn't work in amateur poker. Amateurs will call you no matter how much you bet.

The number of times I've been knocked out by some old guy chasing a draw with terrible odds is unbelievable, and seriously frustrating. Recently i was in a tournament, in the early stages and i have AK of spades. I flop A K 10, one club, a heart and a diamond. I raised pre flop and he was the only caller. I bet decently after the flop, got called, the turn came with a 7 of clubs. I pushed having a good read, knowing he was on a flush draw trying to force him out, and i had him covered. He called again and flips over 5 3 of clubs. I'm thinking WTF is this guy doing in this hand and calling me twice with nothing... and of course, he catches a club on the river and cripples me in a hand he had no business being in.

@@anthonymarinucci325 the 90% of the time where you win that exact same hand, I bet you wouldn't be complaining. If you want that guy to fold every time then you do not understand poker. You want him to play the way he did and not ever fold. In the long run, you win so much more.

Daniel, these videos are not just helpful but very enjoyable. Walking through your judgements puts an extra thrill into them. So much better than dry practice hands. You know what would be killer? If you could get your opponent to comment his side on some of these. I would love to know his thought process right as he throws away. I think I know, but it would be great to hear it.

What a beast Daniel is. Learned a lot from this video. Using bet sizing to put your opponents in tough spots is one of the hardest tools a poker player can attain

Damn.. and I thought poker was all about luck..now I see it is a complicated business where you have to put in the time and effort to gain an edge over your opponents. I also see now why you can sometimes name with accuracy the other players hole cards. Excellent video!

Daniel, I was pleasantly surprised by how well explained - in other words, helpful - I found this video to be. Not sure WHY I should have been surprised given that I"ve always thought you to be adept at articulating your analysis and to be gifted with an unusually clear understanding of possible limitations or misconceptions which might impair your audience's ability to fully understand you. So I guess I wasn't REALLY surprised, just forgetful. Oh well.. Ayway, good one Daniel and thanks.

Some UI suggestions for your editor Daniel: Animated "range transitions" following action to action, street to street, would be amazing. ...I don't know that it's ever been done with poker training before? "Before his plausible range was this, *graphic* now it's been narrowed to this *graphic*" Also, would be helpful to display board and action history alongside action-by-action updated range charts.

Thanks for Video Daniel, excellent as always. Question. You mentioned you're not worried for check raise on Turn. (I realize check raised on flop is super easy to get away from.) But on the Turn, if he CR for another 450K, can you fold? (I guess knowing the Player, and he's never bluffing here, and you still have decent stack if you fold, you do.

Hey Daniel, loved the video. I have a question: why is Katz calling from the big blind with Ajo if he intends to fold it to significant aggression when he hits an ace? I know Ajo is clearly a marginal made hand but given the stack to pot ratio for him on the turn why isn't he happy just to stack off? You somewhat answered this question in the video by saying ICM implications, but if this is such an overwhelmingly important factor why doesn't he just fold his big bind in the first place? If he's only willing to stack off when the flop comes AJ2 or J42 then shouldn't he just fold preflop?

It is quite usefull to think about Katz's spot. He thought Daniel's range was AA, AK, AQ or TT. I believe that made him to muck. So, Daniel has absolutely right. 😜 And it is importan to understand that Daniel wasn't bluffing all night long. So Katz was like " screw that hand, I believe you". Kind of basics but still tough strategy against heroes and gamblers. Thank U Daniel. Amazing videos

I was given a copy of Doyle Brunsons Super System. When I watch these videos you speak of different "eras" of Poker. I'm sure there is some great info in the book about playing fundamental poker. Just how relevant is the book as a whole when used in todays game though?

It's not just TT, Daniel's range was pretty much completely intact. So Katz couldn't have eliminated 44, TT, any AQ or AK, A9 or AT or even 9Ts for the two pair, and so on. Add to that Daniel's tight reputation, AND the rules they were under? Katz was pretty backed into a corner.

relevant only to good players, which is why it's so hard to start out playing poker online, because all the principles and strategies you learn are futile against people that don't know what they're doing and in turn it gives you a presumption that you simply don't grasp the concepts and render yourself a bad poker player, just because the games you're playing are dictated by variance and not GTO. Nevertheless, this is a great video, well explained and easy to understand. Entertaining too, and being able to see the insight of the worlds best for free is a dream.

Range works sometimes at the low stake cash games that I am playing regularly, but it depends on the player type. I bluff the top pair J off the hand when the K hits the river which I actually had A 10 😃

Love this play and the thought process but if you add the flop bet and the turn bet together I think you take away all of your big draw hands as I don't think you would play them the same way. So he can put your range too AK maybe AQ and other set type hands so can attack with blockers too that like an ace witch he had I think a more advanced player at the table would of played back in that spot.

Question: What was your plan if you was called on the turn? Also Fact . This move small bet flop large bet turn was developed by Johnny Chan and since Daniel has encounter this a lot with Johnny, it would have been good if he had mention it.
