Love the fix! I just put mine together and noticed the issue. Just fyi the weight capacity is 560 pounds for the machine. The 1200 pound limit includes the amount of weight you can store on the storage pegs on the back. I confirmed this with Ritfit.

That’s an awesome hack. I was skeptical about the machine with the lack or range of motion, but with the pad, I now want the machine.

I just had knee surgery and definitely see myself using one of these machines in the next couple months. Can’t do it now, but once my leg is a bit stronger I’ll be doing all of these exercises 🦵

I think it’d definitely be a good way to go once you’re healed up. Low impact and it keeps your legs/knees on a pretty stable platform compared to something like squats where you can have some lateral instability.

Cool Leg Press Hack Squat machine .. love the red & black colour. looking great at ur gym. using those pads were a really clever hack. the assembly was some really hard work with all those parts

Nicely done. I did something very similar with my leg sled. Total game changer. Do you prefer the leg press or hack squat with this machine?

I actually like them both a lot. I just built a 3 inch wood platform that I use for full depth on the hack squat now and it makes it a killer exercise. I do a legs, push, pull split twice a week, and now I do an A & B workout so it’s not the same thing over and over again. On the A day I do squats and then the leg press, and on the B day I do hack squat and then lunges. I’m really liking the variety I get from both and my quads are toast both days.

Awesome review - thanks for the video. I've been considering picking up either the BodyCraft or Force USA hack squat / leg press off FBM, but this looks like a quality option at a fraction of the price. I do wish this included a calf block attachment, but not a deal breaker

From my experience over the past couple months, the two calf variations that I demonstrated in the video work really well for me. Also, the hack squat can definitely get sufficient depth to get a good workout, but today I tried adding some 2x4s onto platform and that extra couple inches of of travel made a HUGE difference in my workout. I think I may build a little platform with some 4x4s and plywood to put on the hack foot platform for extra crazy depth on the hack squats.🦵

@@CamberFitness Hell yeah. A channel called Enkiri Elite Fitness has a review of this same machine and he has maybe an 8" hack squat platform. Was thinking I might end up building the same. As far as calf raises go, you're not worried that your feet might slip off the crossbar when you're in the press position? Maybe pretty unlikely, but seems like a potential disaster haha

@gyberic no I don’t think it will because I put the ball of my foot on it so my toes are pretty much hanging over the top. So it would be pretty hard for them to slip off. I wouldn’t be opposed to a device to make it easier/more comfortable.

Great review. Would the pads give you more flex in the hack squat mode too?

I wouldn’t use them for the hack squat since you’re pushing on them with your feet and there’s some flex. I actually built a little 7 inch platform I put on it for the hack squat, and it makes a HUGE difference.

I'm 5' 2" and I read that it's not recommended for anyone under 5' 3". What are your thoughts on that? Also, what is the load capacity?

I can see how shorter legs would make the range of motion even worse. Using the back pad like I showed in the video would definitely make a huge difference. The load capacity is listed at 1,200 lbs.
