Bought a tactical I put an accu strut on the barrel, then added a rubberized stock and tech rear sights i am m very happy with it

It's dead reliable, . Fast handling,, more accurate then you think. It throws brass like an Olympian AND it really makes A R guys mad, for whatever reason. .

It's a good rifle, but be honest, in the beginning and in the early 80's, this rifle was VERY inaccurate, now, it's perfect!!

ABSOLUTELY!! I like this rifle with a lightweight Synthetic Stock, the is the model I want!!

Yamil, I am kicking myself for not buying one prior election and prior pandemic! The prices, due to the panic buying put their pricing up there compared to a few years ago. Ruger did make some significant changes to their barrels that lost accuracy after a good amount of shooting. Seems the original barrels were too "thin" with the original taper and wobbled when hot. That's been corrected. One interesting point is this rifle in this configuration doesn't "scare" people. It looks like a typical hunting rifle vs. an AR that is all "Tactical" appearing! It is based in the Garrand Action which is well proven! I'm going to add a side note here that maybe some folks will maybe accept an understand. "In the late 80's Bill Ruger sent sent a letter to Congress addressing that high capacity magazines were NOT neccessary"! He may have appeared before Congress or met with some members, I don't remember totally. The gun community was outraged and almost everyone abandoned him. This was around the time of an FBI Shootout where Law Enforcement was being outgunned, (Could have been during the Clinton Era)? Regardless, Bill Ruger was "DUMB LIKE A FOX"! He new the AR Platform was doomed with more than one occassion where Law Enforcement was really outgunned by bad folks! But, this bold move to get Congress and the POTUS to agree on a 10 round mag limit actually saved the AR Platform. Years go by, finally the gun community understood that Bill placing himself and his company jeopary took guts! He was then well recieved after several hard years by his peers. *Just some food for thought! Best to ya',,,,as always!

Don't know much more about the Mini 14 than you told me. Good info and quite interesting! On this content, I was quite impressed with the opening picture! Outstanding!

hands down my favorite auto loading rifle in my collection. i struggled finding one for the longest time so i had settled on the ranch model when i finally come acrossed one but it lacks the threaded barrel. just doesnt feel like a mini without a nice muzzle brake at the end so any recommendations for a good smith would be more than welcome

I would say just like a standard AR-15 A2 Flash Hider!! I like the fact that is threaded for 1/2"x28 and you can put any brake or muzzle attachment that you prefer!

I had one of the older renditions in stainless steel, I sold it to a coworker of mine , and have longed to replace it with one of the newer versions. This ‘ tactical ‘ model seems to be the one I’d like to buy . So other than the flash suppressor and picatinny rail that comes with it , what other features deem it to be “ tactical “ ? What is the walnut stock with the speckled finish ? A textured type of adhesive or something ? Is this available with other stock options ?

I think the Scope Mount options and the Flash Hider!! Me, personally, I would go with the Synthetic Stock. The wood stock is way to heavy!!

This model is a wood stock with the Splatter Paint!! Go to the Ruger site and look it up, easy to find!!

Not a fan. I own a 2017 mini tactical. The firing pin broke after 300 rounds. It doesn’t like steel cased ammo. And it’s an unreliable feeder if you don’t use expensive Ruger mags.

Well, the one we tested is still running today. I would not run Steel case ammo in anything but my AK's, NEVER on anything else...
