It's not accident that Trocheck has been a Rangers top player. He came from Florida and Carolina. Two teams that play the same style. But to be fair, Florida didn't play this style until their current coach showed up, but Carolina sure did and last years sweep by Florida was the closest sweep in the semi's I've ever seen. That series was much like this one, with the games coming down to basically one shot. I actually thought Florida was outplayed in 3 of the 4 games and the Panthers only scored 8 total goals in regulation.

@freedomring Following your lousy logic Boston was a "mediocre" team last year as well because they lost in the 1st round against the Panthers following their record setting regular season. Mediocre teams don't win 55 games in the regular season pal. That being said if the Rangers don't come back and win this they will need to make changes next year and "build better" for the playoffs. Hopefully they won't follow the model of Sleepy Joe Biden in doing that. ;) And frankly, without Bobrovsky the Panthers are not a juggernut either. The goalie is part of the team in hockey in case you missed it. You have no chance of winning the Stanley Cup without an above average goaltender but obviously goalies can't score. Oh and by the way, the Rangers kept winning this year when Igor had an "existential crisis" in goal and when he got injured for a bit. But the playoffs are another animal for sure and talent is not enough to win the big prize. Players like Panarin and the likes tend to disappear when the going gets tough. And I don't know what Ferraro said but these "experts" change their opinions from one period to another depending on the score. They even change their opinions from one goal to the next.

Second, you are right about the Bruins of this season as they struggled against "good teams"...like the Rangers who beat them 3 times. I rest my case. "Mediocre" is not the right word to describe a team that won the President's trophy before reaching the ECF. But if the Rangers don't come back and win this series the case should be made that they lack in toughness for sure. And without that element it's very difficult (not impossible) to beat a team like Florida.
