Shotgun King: the Final Checkmate

Here we had a super long run, where levels took upwards of 100 turns because I had to fight back healing bishops and unending waves of pawns. I barely barely had enough stall and dps to keep up, and I couldn't end rounds early by going after the king because of how much extra health I gave him. We got there, but it was stressful.
For reference, the rank 15 difficulty changes are as follows:
add 2 pawns, 1 knight, 1 bishop, and 1 rook
+3 health on kings and rooks, +2 health on knights, +1 health on pawns and bishops, boss double hp
fire arc +25°, +1 ammo max
00:00 ninth attempt
02:59 tenth attempt
25:53 eleventh attempt
28:35 twelfth attempt

Except for the times where I go on autopilot and throw a run. But yeah I have been trying to make my commentary somewhat informative

Would you ever consider trying rank 15 bishop boss runs? I can't even imagine how ridiculous it could get if you try to get every bishop buff/ability there is (as an added challenge), but dear lord, but it'd be damn impressive to conquer it.

The main thing stopping me from trying that is how hard it will be to find the required cards. But yeah, after I do some endless and chase I probably will

Hey, may I suggest a change of tactics? As far as I know, the goal in each floor is to defeat the King, with the ability to ignore any other pieces. This doesn't mean you should always go straight for the King, but rather take the chances you have to shoot at him first rather than the other pieces

Yeah, I definitely don't go for the king as often as I should, and it's definitely thrown runs for me.

The games were taking so long that I'm pretty sure maelstrom would've been good even with double caltrops, lol. A shame the game never offered that or the pentagram perk

Yeah, I definitely would've taken maelstrom if it showed up as one of my last 2 cards. In 40 turns it's a better blunderbuss!

It's kind of hard to activate after the first few turns. Also, I'm used to starting with one barrel (because I've played a lot pre-update) so that has shaped my impression of the card. And picking scope stops me from getting royal loafers later (which isn't a good reason). I just have trouble finding good turns to use it. Maybe I should give the card a proper chance
