Yea maybe take this few months do a few open games really weed out the best from the good and maybe enact a policy where you have a certain time frame to get above a 2000 point or whatever and only let those people play in league that would be a good system I believe the only issue I’d see is overlap of players because not enough are over that rating I would love to play I feel like I’d be pretty dang good but I don’t have a good schedule to be consistent with playing

It's just very difficult to create a player as "good" as you or Chicken with the way the league is structured. You two get to play every game so you can just be stubborn and come in 5th to prove a point then play next game whereas other players have to be way more calculating. You've explicitly used this as leverage to make deals before. Also this hypothetical player would play against you and possibly Chicken every single time they play whereas you can rack up free wins against lower skilled players. A huge part of playing "good" in this context is talking people into taking bad deals which is way easier for you as the host and streamer that all these people are already fans of. If the hypothetical player attempted this, you can take over the conversation and shut the deal down almost every time. Even easier to do with save tokens in play. The few times people have interfered in your deals as aggressively, you just get mad and threaten to ban them. I've also noticed you spend a lot of time talking up your deals but when another person wants to explain their side you tell them to shut up, just say "yes" or "no", make the full offer or end their turn. If somebody did that to you it would be an instant argument resulting in a ban if they didn't back down and apologize. Oh and you also gulag players depending on whether they give the game throwing deal to you or another player. They can give you full oranges for a brown and you'd go "meh" but if they gave it to someone else it's a perma ban. Makes it almost impossible for someone else to scam people to that extent. My point here is other players physically can not play the same way as you or they would end up low ranked or banned. And so the smart players adapt their play style accordingly to get the best result they can get under the system. You absolutely have players who know what they're doing but the type of person you're asking for, you would not actually get along with. I'm not even sure how high ranked Chicken would be if he didn't get to play every game. If you wanted a truly competitive monopoly league, your system was set up to fail from day 1. The streamer content/entertainment/ego side of it made sure of that.
