This was a big project so I hope you all enjoy it! You may have noticed that I didn’t use any music from Hero, Sephiroth, or Sora. Sadly the music from their packs can receive copyright claims, so I had to use “replacement” songs. I think most of what I picked fit well at least, so hopefully that’s ok with all of you!

None of the challenger packs were even bad. Sakurai and the team really went out of their way for every single DLC. Pyra Mythra placing is absolutely infuriating because the songs are amazing. The stage I can agree isn’t much fun but the characters are so much fun

Another point against Myra (yes I’m calling them that): Nintendo gave them individual “gimmicks,” Mythra’s is a kind of interesting dodge, but Pyra’s is just saying that her F-smash is strong. Nintendo tried so hard to give them more of a gimmick than just being switchable that in the Moves List, Pyra has an entire tab that just says her F-smash is strong, which is just dumb.

Dry Bones for Smash 6 is something I’ll never get used to.

Oddesey, have you cared to listen to Battle Torna from Xenoblade chronicles 2? Frankly I see it in almost every smash related video as background music and insaneintherain made a cover of it so it’s bound to be good.

I commend you for your effort in this video. I respect your opinion and also agree with Steve's pack being the best. I also understand your take on "Pythra"'s pack... mostly. I fail to get or accept the part about the music. Xenoblade is known for its excellent soundtrack and while I'd also agree that not all of the new tracks were bangers or anything, but a good few like Mor Ardain, Battle/Torna, Gormott and Incoming are, at least in my opinion and from what I've seen many others' as well, very good tracks. Otherwise, great video! :D

I’m probably one of the few Byleth fans here, but I also really like Steve, current opinion on Sora is that he’s really fun lol, I think the 3 I mentioned are the 3 best for me, there all fun to use & not too annoying to fight for me Update on my comment, my 3rd is Sephiroth instead of Sora Edit X2: I actually hate fighting Sora & don’t really like playing Sora

You’re really gonna knock Xenoblade for music?! There’s no way you gave it a proper listen if you think they’re all bad tracks. Moving on to something more subjective- Byleth feels way worse than Pyra/Mythra in my opinion. While I’ll admit their moveset does feel basic, Pyra and Mythra at least feel coherent, where Byleth feels really off since they wield 4 different fucking weapons and have a massive dissonance in feeling from move to move.

Kazuya was easily my favourite dlc character I was asking for him since day one so when I heard Emotionless Passion playing and seen Ganondorf getting thrown off the cliff I jumped out my seat and shouted out loud "GET IN YOU BEAUTY!"

Just a quick correction I wanted to make, Jokers victory screens are NOT based off of Persona 5, 4, and 3, but just 5. The color changes with the color of mementos, or the player number color if not on mementos. Persona 3 and 4 have wildly different winning screens and songs. Other than that, great video!

I agree with this whole list, though I'd put Pyra/Mythra higher. About Steve, I LOVE HIM! He plays amazingly and his game was a huge part of my childhood, back when I also played Xbox. It's crazy that Mario and Steve are in the same game. I would go on a whole reverse rant, but I'm too lazy. I'm trying to make him my second best character, and who knows, maybe he will be better than my Pythra someday? And I don't know if this is a popular or unpopular opinion, but Fighters Pass 2 > Fighters Pass 1+Piranha Plant

My rankings (don’t care for movesets just how much I enjoy to play it casually) 12. Piranha Plant (funny addition and interesting character but idk barely play him anymore) 11. Min Min (Cool mechanically but the way the implemented, it sucked) 10. Banjo (good for the fans but nothing about him elsewhere just was boring his move set is kinda bad and he is just annoying to play against) Everyone from here on I love to play and will probably continue to play: 9. Pyra/Mythra (I seriously don’t get the hate for these two, the fact they brought back the double character in one back from Brawl and honestly never played Xenoblade but honestly with there addition I’ll need to look into it) 3. Fun fact: I heard that it was planned where you can connect your Minecraft worlds to smash ultimate as a custom stage. It would have been interesting to have that and custom skins if you have minecraft switch/bedrock. Edit: if this and the porting of minecraft maps for the switch version like using mcpedl or planet minecraft I would love to make an arena using levels from my map.

My ranking: Keep in mind, i like all the dlcs. 11. Pyra/Mythra. I think a Xenoblade character is cool, but I don't think the character is very fun to play as. 6.5/10 10. Min Min. She's just fine. The character is unique, but she's just fine. 7/10 9. Banjo and Kazooie. They 101% deserved to be in the game, but the gameplay of the character is boring. Also, the music and stage they came with are underwhelming. 7.3/10 8. Terry. I love Terry, much like the whole top 8. These were really hard to choose. But out of the top 8, he's my least favorite. The music and stage is quite good. 8/10 7. Sora. I might get crucified, but let me explain. I love sora. he's not my favorite to play as. I also think his music and stage are great. 8.2/10 6. Joker. joker is an overall great pack. character is fun, songs are great, stage is good, just overall great. 8.5/10 5. Hero. Hero is super fun. I love the gimmick he has with down b. Also, the alts are PHENOMONAL. 4 characters in one is a great package. the stage is good, and the music is ok. 8.8/10. 4. Kazuya. He's just incredibly fun. I love the gimmick, and he's just so powerful. Stage and music are both great, and so are his alts. 9/10 3. Steve. Steve is just INCREDIBLE! The fact that he's in the game is just mind blowing. Also, the amount of effort that was put in was great. The character's gimmick s great, with his mining. Much like Hero, the alts are phenomonal. The package is great. The stage is great, but the music is just ok. 9.2/10. 2. Sephiroth. The character was probably the most hype and coolest of all the characters. The gameplay is incredible, stage is incredible and the music is also great. 9.4/10 1. Byleth. This is my most controversial opinion. I know people were not excited at all for Byleth, I get that. But, I just think byleth's gameplay is son unique. I love powerful characters and byleth covers that. The character is great, and so is the stage. But the thing that brings her to number one is the music. My favorite song in Smash bros, The Edge of dawn came with Byleth, and Oh. My. god. It's so good. 9.6/10

I heavily disagree with the bottom two. Pyra/Mythra is deserved, and I've been waiting for a Xenoblade 2 character since Ultimate was announced, and their song choice is fantastic, a ton of them are better than a majority of the original Xenoblade's songs in Smash (Death Match with Torna, Counterattack. You Will Recall Our Names, Driver Vs, Mor Ardain, Bringer of Chaos, Battle!! Torna, are all amazing). As for Byleth, I just think it's a solid choice. I dont really care how many FE characters their are, especially since half of them are just Echoes. Ike, Corrin, Robin, and Byleth are the only wholly unique ones. All the rest are different shades of the same two movesets.

6:50 if you’ve played Three Houses (which I haven’t) you’d know that the colors represent four of the most important characters, being the House leaders and Sothis. The 8th alt should’ve been something different, though, maybe a Jeralt or Rhea skin, since female Byleth as is now has two green hair skins.

Back when I voted for Steve in the Smash 4 ballot (which was probably the hardest decision of my entire life), I truly didn't think he actually had a chance, but I sure am glad he did. I mean, every time I see him being played I learn new tricks!

Man, Pyra and Mythra's placement shocked me, I love playing them, I love the rapid ability to essentially change movesets, it feels so fun, like a trickster whom you dont know what they'll go for, will they combo into photon edge? A smash? Ray of punishment? Or will they switch to Pyra to hit you with a Flame Nova, I like Pyra and Mythra

I agree about Steve in Smash, because he was my most recommended character and I’m just glad that he got in, Pyra and Mythra were also one but it okay to see what others opinion about these characters. Joker, Hero, Sephiroth, Sora, by my opinion one the best included, Banjo, Terry, Byleth, are good choice, I have nothing against them their games are great, but Min Min, and Kazuya, just don’t really get my attention. By far I just love some of the characters they add on these dlc packs.

Wario had the best recovery options imo in that side special into jump, maybe down special if timed right, and up b were great in Brawl,Bayo took it in Smash 4 with ladder combos, and Steve has top tier in recovery options.

The Xenoblade soundtrack take is extremely debatable.

I think this is why there are so many fire emblem characters, you see there is always different main characters in the fire emblem series, but in Zelda, Link is the main character in every game and what Zelda characters could get into smash.

When each challenger pack came out, I tested them out by playing through the entire world of light story using only that character and I was only able to do it with only 5 of the 11 characters. Those will be my top 5, however the order is based on the rest of their pack with music being first and stage being second. 1. Byleth - couldn't stop playing as him when he came out, he's the reason why I started playing Fire Emblem Three Houses and Fire Emblem Warriors Three Hopes, Best music out of all the challenger packs. 2. Sora - Huge Disney fan, never played Kingdom Hearts, but the music is amazing. Character is super fun to play as. Stage is gorgeous. 3. Hero - Favourite stage out of all the challenger packs because of the beautiful backgrounds. 4. Pyra/Mythra - My main and the character I played as the most out of all the DLC characters. 5. Terry 6. Joker 7. Sephiroth 8. Banjo & Kazooie 9. Kazuya 10. Min Min - never won a single fight playing as Min Min 11. Steve - never won a single fight playing as Steve

For play style wise Kazuya and Terry are my favorites. I love inputs tbh and I don't mind auto turn around as its easy to cheese since its kinda bad sometimes. But they feel amazing when you hit and deal a ton of damage so I love that. But Steve was my most excited character I sadly can't play him well since how he plays I can't play to well

As a huge fan of Xenoblade who was absolutely ecstatic to see Pyra/Mythra be added to the roster, I'm obviously upset about them being in the bottom spot. But that's not even that big of a deal. Whatever, different people have different opinions and different preferences. But you're seriously going to say that the Pyra/Mythra music selection is one of the worst ones of the packs??? The Xenoblade franchise as a whole is well-known for consistently having some of the best OSTs in the genre. I can understand you not liking Pyra/Mythra as fighters, but what you said about the music selection is just baffling to me.

I like Byleth very much more than Piranha, Min Min and Pyra/Mythra, but, yeah, as a Fire Emblem Fan myself.... Not deserved that spot. I truly like Fire Emblem, and Byleth in Smash but, that spot was just comercial trash. Give FE a chance tho, is a cool series.

Gosh these really are hard to separate, huh. For Joker they pulled out ALL the stops, and yet it ended up with so much competition pretty much straight away. It's crippling how low Banjo has to go when he might be one of the biggest additions of the bunch, but argh I wish he was just more fun. Steve was actually the first character I've wanted in Smash Bros.

Pyra and Mythra are of course my favorite DLC with also Hero. It's thanks to them i played Xenoblade 2 and Dragon Quest 11 and after that these become my favorite games of all time Thanks Smash ultimate !!!

This list is agreeable for me. Sry I am late, but since my favorite games r Pokémon and Minecraft this is a dream come true for me. I feel that the bottom 2/3 are interchangeable, and the top spots are justifiable, especially Steve. My only regret is that u put sora low down: he may have been the closest to breaking twitter other than Steve. Otherwise, this list is excellent and I hope to see more smash content from u in the future.

How dare you! Pythra and Byleth have amazing movesets that are fun to play and they’re from hot new Switch-exclusive successful entries that stand out amongst their series. Xenoblade 2 especially is completely different from 1, and Three Houses is the new best FR game everyone’s talking about. I get that FE doesn’t deserve more reps than Zelda, but cut Chrom and maybe Corrin, maybe even Roy or Lucina, before you even think about cutting Byleth. Then there’s the music, and Xenoblade 2 and 3 Houses have, to me, the best DLC song collection. Edge of Dawn and You Will Recall Our Names are two of the hypest songs on the Switch on their own. On top of that, Claude can be enhanced into one of the most broken Primary Spirits in the game since it practically grants your fighter two buffs.

Ik this is old but the reason the Hollow Bastion stage dosen't change with hazards off is because it does change what Steve can mine, he can mine steel I think in dive to the heart, so *technically* it does affect something, tho imo it's kinda dumb

I love kingdom hearts but after the hype dies down you realize that sora is actually a really weak character. His final smash is horrible, his moves are weak and do little damage. His parry is too quick and doesn’t do much damage. Theres nothing really exciting about him other than the shock value of us finally having him in the game
