He isn’t married but he did have a partner since 2015 and split after four years of dating, but apparently they were seen together last year (possibly rekindling the relationship?). Either way she was very supportive of Gaga and Bradley at the time and “understood they were just in character” during the Oscar’s performance.

My favorite icon behaviour moment is Julie Andrews thanking Jack Warner for not casting her in My Fair Lady when she won for Mary Poppins. She played Eliza Doolittle on Broadway and was snubbed for the role in the movie because Audrey Hepburn had more starpower at the time. And that snub cleared her schedule to do Mary Poppins, which made her a star and gave her an Oscar.

I was actually at the 2017 La La Land/Moonlight ceremony and BOY HOWDY. Let me tell ya… you could cut the awkwardness in that room with a knife. It was palpable. I was seated behind a bunch of people who worked on La La Land too. It was like watching a car crash watching them celebrate and then in real time realize they hadn’t won. OOF. I’ve never felt that kind of palpable cringe in a room before. It was surreal. Also no one mentions this, but it was also SO unfair to the folks behind Moonlight, because instead of it getting it’s time to shine as best picture, the after parties and the chatter the next day in the press was all about the mixup and not the triumph of either of those films, let alone the one who actually won.

Top 3 Chaotic Moments in Oscar History - Any occasion when Whoopi Goldberg was a host. - 2003 Oscars which had Nicole Kidman making a plea to stop the War going on at the time as well as another winner who was booed off the stage for doing the same. - The face journeys of Lupita Nyong’o while trying to process the Will Smith-Chris Rock situation.

This girl is too young to remember that. Notice how most of these moments are within the last decade. She didn’t even mention John Wayne trying to assault the Native American woman who was accepting marlon Brandon’s Oscar on his behalf, she didn’t mention Halle Berrys of Hattie winning for Gone With the Wind. She didn’t mention Slumdog Millionaires historic win. There were a lot more iconic moments than a lot of the ones she listed here, she’s too young to remember. There were some pretty iconic performances too she didn’t mention that are very memorable. She was only 13 when some of these things happened. Should probably do some research before posting a ranking video expecting to get paid for this.

A missing moment (which I would add under Icon Behavior) is Michael Moore winning the Oscar for Bowling for Columbine in 2003 and calling out GW Bush for the Iraq War. It was a bit of an awkward delivery, but he used the platform thoughtfully and critically. The audience started actively booing and shaming him (this was months after 9/11, when critiquing government even in California was seen as “antiamerican”). I was very proud of him for speaking up and, I’d say, as time has shown, he was right all along.

I was going to say the same thing! Such an iconic moment. It’s a shame she turned out to be a pretendian (according to her own family). She did have mestizo Mexican heritage, which is indigenous to North America, but that’s not the same as having a Native American or First Nations tribal identity and is a very different cultural/generational experience. These issues are also absurdly common: “The Native Scholar Who Wasn’t” from the New York Times is an excellent read on the issue.

Ok for me, with the La La Land-Moonlight mixup, that’s the most insane one because there’s literally one purpose for the academy awards and the presenters and the envelope handlers backstage, and that is to announce the awards correctly and they fucked it up so bad on the TOP AWARD OF THE NIGHT! It ruined the La La Land team’s night and it ruined Moonlight’s moment… it was like. What?? So I think I would add two tiers below oh my god. Dead bottom would be the SA tier for Roman Polanski and Adrien Brody. Then above that is the YOU HAD ONE JOB tier for the best picture mixup, and then everything else 😂

I wouldn't say the joke about the visual effects of Cats is worth applauding. If you do some reading about the film's production, the visual effects team was asked to do too much for too little in too little time, and they became the scapegoat for other people involved with the film. The person who should actually be ridiculed for it is the director, the producers, the decision makers. Also Corden and Wilson's acting and whoever decided they and their roles should even be in the film. I'd say when you're stuck in a crap project, either punch up at the people who made it crap or at least don't punch down on other people who are also stuck in it and underpaid.

Thanks for the video, so fun!! I've got to disagree with you on both the oscar streaker Robert Opal and Jack Palance's one armed pushups. Both definitely deserve to be in the icon category as they have stood the test of time and are still talked about to this day! Where as to be honest I doubt most will remember Nicole Kidman's seal clap or the Lady Gaga/Bradley Cooper duet, both of which I would rank as alright. I also think you should have included Robert Benigni jumping up on the seats, walking on the seats then jumping up the stage stairs to accept the oscar for best foreign language flim for Life is Beautiful! Absolutely iconic and chaotic. Here is a link for anyone who has not seen that moment before: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/bsmEhZmX0J7Koqc.html

Want to add another moment - during the 1946 Oscars, Joan Crawford (who was nominated for best actress for Mildred Pierce) was so nervous she wouldn’t win that she claimed she had pneumonia. She accepted the Oscar while she was still in bed!

Till this day I think Jennifer fell on purpose, it was that time when everyone thought she was sooo funny, so clumsy, ohh she's not like every girl.... So I guess she just had to be hilarious even in that situation...

I feel like the Cats moment was nasty because they attacked the cgi, which is honestly the movie's smallest problem, and was a cheap shot, while THEM, THE ACTORS agreed to be in this movie to make fart and fat jokes! Also that Shallow song is unbearable and that rendition was too cringe, I simply cannot.

Yeah it’s really unfortunate that Roman Polanski did all those horrible things, but he did make an amazing movie. The classic conundrum of wether or not to separate the art from the artist

makes no sense to not include snippets of the actuals events. Just describing the scenes is an oh naur bestie.

Eminem's presentation is everything but random. Do you not know the song won an Oscar and he was not there so the song was never presented at the show? I think a little bit more of investigation was needed here.
