One thing I'll say about City is, after you win a treble, a lot of players lose motivation to keep going 100% and Pep has been clever with this. The replacements arent that much of a downgrade either since the core of the team is still there. Other than Gundogan, Mahrez and Laporte started playing more of bit part role, so replacing them with Nunes and Doku is still pretty good.

The problem with Liverpool is that realistically, we still have no recognized DM, Endo like you said should be a role player, and none of the rest are DM. Add that it remains to be seen whether Salah is sold for an outrageous amount of money or not. And still no one to challenge Trent at RB.

Everton's transfer window is easily the worst one. Iwobi has gone, DCL is injured yet again and Michael Keane is still there too (they would have to pay a Club to take him though). Only positives are Onana, Doucoure, Tarkowski and Pickford still being there, and the signing of Harrison Reed. Where are their goals going to come from? Danjuma doesn't have a great record in the Premier League - decent talent, yes, but I'm not sure about the end product. Beto might be an absolute unit in height but not a known quantity in the Premier League and Chermiti is a young player who is an unknown quantity in the Premier League. I can't help but think Jesse Lingard might've been a player to help them, especially with the loss of Iwobi. Dele is going to have to step up bigtime. Also: Chelsea lost at home to Forest.

The reason that us Liverpool fans have been complaining for a lot of the window is because we know that we still need a top class defensive midfielder, a centre back and a new right back. The whole fiasco with Caicedo and Lavia also gave us PTSD. Yes we haven't had a bad window, but we're not back into challenging for league titles.

The trouble is people see Berge's quality and think we've lost something amazing. Yes he is a great player when he wants to be. But he spends the majority of the time being a passenger. Doesn't go up for headers (despite being the biggest bloke on most pitches), rarely uses his strength, doesn't go in for tackles, and is too far laid back when you need a bit of urgency. That's the trouble with people who don't regularly watch us, they hear great Norwegian international and think we've lost something special. But we really haven't. You say so far for Burnley he plays like a dying pony, we've seen that for a while now. We were far more upset at losing Ndiaye. But at the same time he had a choice of staying and being in a relegation battle or going to his boyhood club to be involved in European football. Not exactly a difficult decision, can't blame him and wish him well. McAtee on loan vastly improves this window for us alone. Not convinced by Larouci yet. Trusty needs to play, seems like he'd make a good leader. Hamer and Souza are great signings. Traore just needs a bit more service and confidence. Archer did well last season, but he had far better service than we will ever give him so who knows. Would have loved Doyle as well, but he was used as part of a deal with Wolves so wasn't to be. All in all I don't think it's been that bad a window. We've had a lot worse.

Likes of Lloris, Dier, Ndombele and Hojbjerg all rejected moves away to either sit on the bench or not even get registered for the team.
