Great to hear your comments on the rollercoasters at BPB. You mention Steeplechase having three tracks but I seriously cannot remember the last time all three tracks were in operation at the same time? With its footprint you could get something quite sizeable in its place. Grand National is great but it is rough and despite the retracking it’s still rough so Icon is definitely ahead of it still.

Good ranking. I agree with it too. For years I didn't like the Grand National and the Big Dipper simply because of how rough they were but now they've really grown on me Grand National in particular. Infusion should be given back to Southport btw

Icon by itself is okay to me, Big One definitely tops it, but I've gotta say Enso is the best roller coaster experience I've had in the UK

Icon's number 1 for me best coaster both at Pleasure Beach and in the UK. Not sure what I'd put in 2nd the Big One is fine with an awesome first drop but I also enjoy Nickelodeon Streak. As for Grand National I'd probably rank it quite close to the bottom. Whilst the right side as you're heading into the station is pretty good the left is one of the roughest most unpleasant experiences I've ever had on a coaster. Just hope it's smoother this season.

Great run down, Scott. Thinking about the Nash. My grand father was obsessed with how the trains swapped sides in the station. Of course he couldn’t Google the answer like I could once it was available. Do you think that still makes a difference to people who’ve never been on it before? Or don’t they even notice? To me it’s still a magical reason why the Nash rates higher than others! 😀

I'm 100% with you on the first and second place....joint first even if that was a thing 😁 I'm a bit of a woodie fanatic..so I would follow with all of those. and I still love the Avalanche so much 💜 The Revolution was my fave as a kid but I haven't been on it for years...gonna do something about that this season. I'm not a fan of Infusion but Icon is ace fun...and a bit scary 😁 I tried a list but changed it far too many times 😁😄

Scott CD here- agree with so much. Infusion is definitely over feared, grand national is one of the most fun rides in the country, streak is underrated but not as underrated as Dipper and Rev. But, I'd have to knock the big one down to mid table for me. So I guess I'll avoid that argument on opening day if I see you.

I only ridden half of the rollercoasters at blackpool pleasure beach so I would rank them 1. Icon 2. Big One 3. Revolution 4. Avalanche 5. Infusion Infusion sucks and a Mack Rides Big Dipper should replace it or a log flume. Avalanche is just really fun Revolution has two strong airtime filled drops and an intense loop Big One has an insane drop, great views and nice interactions Icon is filled with floater and ejector and it's so impressive how they managed to fit it in the park and it has an amazing layout. Next time I visit I will make sure to go and ride the other half.

It's nice to hear somebody agreeing with me on The Big One. So many people I talk to always say that Icon is a better ride. While yes, from a technical standpoint it is a much better ride, Nothing beats the airtime from that first drop on The Big One. Also, as a fan of old Arrow coasters, I'm happy Revolution got closer to the top than most people put it. That is probably the most intense coaster I have ever been on and I love it.

Nash is my fav coaster in the world. I'm a real woody lover.

Would be keen to see if your top ten was the same if it were riding in the dark only? I always feel Infusion in the dark is totally different much like many other rides. It would change my top ten certainly.

I agree with most of the list except I would have had Revolution higher than that, but that's only because I think that very few coasters are as intense as that in this Country.

Big one 1994.....first ride ever was the best experience of my life with the original drop .....I was 15

Scott. They changed the first drop after maybe a year? I cannot remember what they did but I rode it when it opened in 94. Did they try to slow it down to save wear and tear on the trains? Any idea? Thanks

I think your rankings are pretty accurate. Steeplechase is better than Blue Flyer though :). Love the vlogs. Look forward to the up coming season.

20 + years since last visit The Big one was latest coaster and Valhala opened same year sp rode original when new before problems and shut down

Agree with most of this (though I still put Icon at #1), but I'd never wish to see any of the historic coasters removed, even those I don't like (I too put Steeplechase last) - I hope for a better ride on Big Dipper this year, I rank that lower than most people because it's been so slow for me lately I've experienced zero airtime on it - Nick Streak and Grand National both vastly superior to me.

Icon for me the 2nd best in the country imo just behind SIK. At BPB 1: Icon 2: Grand National 3: Big One Worst Steeplechase by far. Really like the rest of them.

I haven’t ridden Infusion, Revolution or Blue Flyer. Of the 7 I have ridden, they are in this order: 1: Icon 2: Grand National 3: Nick Streak 4: PMBO 5: Avalanche 6: Big Dipper 7: Steeplechase

Didn't go on all of the coasters during my only visit on a very busy day last August, my ranking would be: 1. Big One - It is quite rough and it is such a shame the way the hills were designed which removes airtime, but that first drop is one of the best elements I've ever done on a coaster and you do get a good sensation of speed throughout. It's just such an iconic landmark for the UK too and the views going up the lift hill are incredible. 2. Grand National - Fun with lots of airtime pops, was nowhere near as rough as I was expecting but I did find the restraints to be very uncomfortable, new restraints that don't dig into the sides of your legs would be great. I only had one ride on the front row though so can't speak for the experience towards the back. 3. Icon - Disappointing, I did find it to be quite forceful, but I really dislike the layout, very forgettable, it just seemed to meander around, the section from the inversion to the immelmann is very good though. Felt quite nauseous afterwards too. Was on the very back row towards the end of the day, think I'd definitely enjoy it more on a cooler day on the front row. 4. Avalanche - Great fun ride, my biggest surprise of the day, shame these bobsleds don't get built anymore as they are the perfect family coaster imo. 5. Big Dipper - Found it to be rough as hell, beat the crap out of me. 6. Steeplechase - Worst coaster I've ever been on, was in total agony throughout.

The roughness and brutal ride experience of The Grand National helps make it my No1. Very close 2nd is the iconic Big One, nothing beats that first drop, the speed and sights either daytime or nighttime during illuminations is always special.

Infusion is one of the most painful rides I've ridden. Only the Tornado at M+D's was worse.

I couldn’t agree more with the list - at this point I wouldn’t mind if the Steeplechase being removed, however I’d want it to have a massive send off if they did though, if that makes sense

Infusion is the only ride at BPB I haven't dared to do lol It looks super uncomfortable. Steeplechase is in a similar category, done it once..never again. Tricky because it's a unique & iconic ride but it looks better than it rides. They could replace both of these imo.

I think Steeplechase should be replaced with an Intamin hot racer, it's definitely had it's day. Icon still the best at the park but I'm still waiting to ride the big one as it was closed last time I visited.

All coasters at BPB are such rare treats (except Infusion). There's just no coaster collection like it. RMC should absolutely stay away, the old woodies are what makes the place.

Before you started I said to myself PMBO will be number 1, and Infusion and Steeplechase would be in 9th and 10th respectively. Well I wasn’t totally wrong lol 😂 Bit cross you put my favourite Blue Flyer in 9th. Glad Steeplechase was last. I really hate that thing lol 😂 Of the 7 I’ve been on I’d rank them as follows; 1. Was in BPB yesterday. For me Icon is easy number 1 followed by Big One. I genuinely don't get the love for Grand National, it is incredibly rough and still was as of yesteday. It is my least favourite of the woodies at the park and needs to get RMCed. IMO, none of BPBs woodies are as good as Wicker Man, sorry not sorry. Steeplechase is far more enjoyable than Infusion. I won't ride Infusion again afer last year, it's too painfull. Probably going to take some flack for this list! 1. Icon 2. Big One 3. Revolution 4. Streak 5. Avalanche 6. Big Dipper 7. Genuinely hated Icon. It was brutal and made me feel sick for about an hour afterwards... that's never happened to me before!

So much moaning about Infusion in the comments. It’s such a great coaster with one knobbly bit in the middle. I found that Big Dipper was the pain machine, but given the age and airtime, it can be forgiven.

Steeplechase definitely last place those turns are brutal if your a guy the ladies not so much that why I've given it the nickname the baby unmaker

Bit harsh on Icon Scott! 😄. I agree with you on Steeplechase, it does nothing for me and I can't remember the last season I rode it - that said, I'd be absolutely outraged if PB ever announced they were going to remove it.
