I'm gonna offer a little update where it's more visible since I've gotten a lot of people asking if I'll make a follow up about Season 3: Yes! I definitely want to talk about the final season (as well as the ensemble contest OVA) in another video. However, it won't really be soon because I need to watch them several times and really let my opinions stew, and as of now I've seen the OVA only twice and s3 in its entirety only once (I've already revisited some episodes though haha). Regardless, it's gonna just be one of those things that'll randomly pop up in the vaguely far future, but rest assured, I want to make it. I have so many praises to bestow!! In the meanwhile, some other stuff completely unrelated to Hibike might show up on this channel. I won't go promising anything since this will likely never, ever be a primary focus for me but I have gotten the itch to do something like this again lately, so hey, we'll see what I throw together! Also as a brief aside, I use she/her pronouns! Things have changed a lot since 2021!

Great video, glad I watched to the end. The best part of rewatching so many times for me was rediscovering the cast and coming to see so many of the characters I didn't think much of in a different light, which is why it became my favorite cast in anime, and probably ever. You bring up a lot of good points that went over my head in this video so thank you for putting all the work into this video.

First and foremost, thanks for doing this video. I just recently rewatched the whole series after realizing how long it has been since the first season aired. Anyway, I watched the whole thing on a rainy weekend and was blown away by the whole vibe and theme of this series. I kind of forgot the whole character progression and the drama involved. I immediately felt in a bit of a melancholic mood for a few days to reflect on the whole show. Certainly, I was moved by all these works and had to contemplate them to reach the right conclusions. I can assure you that I've undervalued Hibike by quite a stretch. I was a Euphonium player, more the Natsuki type, in my school years, and this was the main reason I've watched this show initially. Furthermore, the whole thing was made by none other than Kyoto Animation. I'm writing this after Ep10 of S3, and I feel already sad that it will reach its conclusion soon. If you ever make an update to this video, I promise to watch it fully too. I really enjoyed your thoughts and opinions on all these characters. I can't refute any of your points, and the order of this list is subjective anyway. I wish you good luck wherever you are in your life.

This was incredible and needs wayyy more views. Your video made me rewatch Hibike and I noticed all the subtle nuances I missed in the character writing. It was wayyy more fascinating now that I’m a little older and now it’s one of my favorites. Thank you for making me fall in love with Hibike Euphonium. You definitely gained a subscriber😊

I'll probably have a lot to say, so I'll just start a list: -Considering the series, the chances of having good background music were high, but- yeah, delightful background music choices. -Started cackling right from the start of the Shuuichi part. -Using Sakuta and Mai as an example of good anime romance? HELL YES. You know what's what. -I absolutely appreciate the Gotou appreciation^^ -The moment about Hashimoto crying with joy is underappreciated and the emphasis you put on it made me emotional. -Right from the first notes at #16 I immediately knew who it was gonna be!! She was a delight. So glad to see her so high up! -Your analysis of Aoi was very daring and really delved deep into what makes her so relatable as a cynical person. -You had me right from the start of Kaori's introduction. She's such a fantastic character and she deserves all the love. -Using the iconic Tutti as background music for Sapphire and Vivace which is basically a heartfelt, optimistic upgrade from Tutti for Hazuki? Masterful choice. And your analysis of her made me tear up, unexpectedly. -"Karen" as Yuuko's profile word is hilarious. She did ask for it. At first. -Mamiko being so high makes me so happy!! She was so crucial in Kumiko's personal growth and driving the anime's main messages to the point. -Haruka's analysis made me smile from ear to ear. It did her so much justice TwT I absolutely agree that she deserves such a high place. She's incredibly strong. -Would indeed have expected #3 to be #1... She's definitely #1 in my book. But this list has been really interesting and varied opinions make this world, as you said, so I AM satisfied^^ -Not to mention using Kasanaru Kokoro and Dream Solister as background music during Kumiko's part. My heart just feels whole from it. -PS: THE SURPRISE AT THE BEGINNING OF #1. I actually agree so much lol This series is outstanding, I loved it to pieces, and I love this to pieces as well. Thank you so much for reminding me just how incredible each and every one of these characters are, this is a gem! Thanks for the hard work!!

Masterpiece of a video, can't wait for what you have to say about season 3

I just finished creating a documentary about my high school's band, and that took SOO much work, so I'm really impressed with this monster of a video with its length. Very very very well done! And thank you for this video too, Hibike is my favorite show because it's changed my life, and I really appreciate you dissecting everything that I missed about some of the characters that I didn't think much of. Personally I relate to Natsuki the most, so she's my number 2, and I firmly believe Kumiko is takes the top spot. But your take on Reina changed my perspective about how I understood her, so thank you for that!

Outstanding work. It took me about a week to watch the whole video, but I'm so glad I did because it made me appreciate the show and its characters even more. Your insights about Aoi, Taki-sensei, Mamiko, and Haruka are especially noteworthy for me as they made me look at them differently. I would be super interested about your thoughts on Season 3. I assume some characters would place higher or lower because of it? Not to mention, Reina has become a bit unpopular with many after some of the things she did (and said), and while I'm sure she's not going to drop from #1 on your list, I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on her development in the final season. A new video perhaps? I think the final season turns her relationship with Kumiko into so much more. To me, it's the most substantive character relationship I've seen in anime, maybe any media, really. It's something I can only describe as beautiful, and even that seems like I'm somehow underselling it. But I digress. This was so enjoyable and you expressed yourself so eloquently. I hope this video reaches many more fans of the series. Really, you should be proud for making something like this. Great work man.
