Personally I think why THK is stabbing himself is actually because he actually gains a bit of control and stabs himself so we can win and seal the infection inside us. That's why I think the sad music kicks in when he stabs himself because he knows he failed and haves to kill himself to let us win. Your interpretation is good but if it is the case that the radiance is freeing herself by using THK to stab himself then imo the moment he stabs himself is not that sad. That's why I prefer my interpretation that he helps us by stabbing himself because the moment is more meaningful and sad

Unpopular opinion, traitor lord is actually a great boss. He is very easy to beat, but something about his moves just feel really satisfying to dodge. And the NPC side quest with cloth is really good.

The reason the sisters of battle start with 1 mantis lord is because then they make you think they’re just mantis lords in pantheon 5 but then surprise you by making you fight all 3

Vengeful king becomes alot faster, and a bit more satisfying, when you realise that you can line up a vengeful spirit/shade soul if you turn in his direction after pogo-ing.

I love watcher nights because I always get way too over prepared so I can kill the watcher knights insanely quickly by using quick slash and sharp shadow

I love the history of the nail sages!i belive Oro starts the battle off alone because in the lore of Hollowknight the two brothers had a fight and ended up splitting up from each other (hence why you can find them on the opposite sides of hollownest from each other). This is also backed up by the nail sage saying dialogue along the lines of “fight for brotherhood”. Even though the brothers split up after their fight they have a duty as brothers and sword masters, so they chose to forgive each other in that moment and fight together; thats why when Mato steps in they give each other the look of “I forgive you”.

Very good ranking, I also like WKs and GPZ, but why did you put White Defender only 2 places above Dung Defender? Everyone always says that he is simply better version of DungDef and some even say it is basically the same fight. I think he is very underrated and tbh it is ny favorite (yes, I have beated all 5 versions)

The reason you fight one mantis lord in the beginning of sisters of battle is because when you encounter the boss for the first time, it's supposed to be a fake out So it makes sense to fight one at the start

I knew this going into the rankings. Probably should have mentioned it. I would have rather Team Cherry put the boss design ahead of the surprise factor in Pantheon 5. Especially since the fight still starts with 1 mantis in the Hall of Gods. It still feels messy considering you won't be surprised after fighting it for the 396th time.

32:43 while not being near the top 5 bosses for me this is a good fight bit this one part of the fight ruins it for me something another youtuber said that would've made this fight better is if all the sisters shared 1 huge health bar and when that depletes, each hit would be a devastating blow to each of the sisters defeating them with a single hit

i think you were a bit harsh with no eyes and uumuu, they arent like great fights but decent i feel, brooding mawlek aswell but thats a bit more of "i just like this boss." hive knight i think is also a little high and shouldnt be above soul master (even by 1)

I personally think mantis lord / sister of battle is a bit overrated but that's just my personal opinion, I prefer 1v1 bosses and I also prefer the spectacle of nightmare King grimm and pure vessel way more but I still think mantis lords is great and I accept your opinion
