Today we are taking a look at and ranking every lego pirates of the caribbean set every released. The original POTC lego sets were released in 2011 in conjunction with On Stranger Tides and had a follow set in 2017 for the release of Dead Men Tell No Tales. 2017 is the most recent year for this theme but I think this is a theme that a lot of us would love Lego to revisit.
Some of the sets you will see in today’s list include: 4191 The Captain's Cabin, 4192 The Fountain of Youth, 4182 The cannibal escape, 4181 Isla De Muerta, 4193 The London Escape, 4183 The mill, 4194 Whitecap Bay, 71042 the Silent Mary, 4195 The Queen Anne’s Revenge, 4184 Black Pearl

I recently found a black pearl set I got as a child collecting dust under my bed. It is still factory sealed in the box with a Lego store sticker that reads $99.99. Only after some research did I discover what a grail this was.

i had a few sets of lego as a kid, but none of them were really big because we couldn't buy anything more than 20 dollars whenever i did get one. they were still the most magical thing ever, i remember having my little X wing with luke and pretending he was stuck in the roof and defending himself from the wampa bigfig I didn't have

The throne and cage from Cannibal escape are my favorite side builds from the theme. Truly amazing theme all around though. Are you going to rank the sonic sets? There aren’t many so it would probably be a nice and easy video!

Hmmm, potentially in the future. Maybe I’ll let a few more release waves come out first. Sometimes it’s just easier to do the older themes, because it’s not likely more will come to that said theme. Whereas doing a current theme is tough because in any given year it can become outdated, which sucks

What with Lord of the Rings making an impromptu return to LEGO, it would be awesome to see PotC get a similar treatment. Because while this theme WAS awesome at the time, looking back, those ship builds left a LOT to be desired.

Luckily, Mega-Construx made a Dutchman set, but it’s expensive because it’s old.

We need some more pirates sets. With more accurate ships. Lego should look at Moc your bricks ship sets and do that. I mean the old lego ships were good but they can do much better.

I think it's such a shame that they never made The Flying Dutchman. Some brilliant MOC was made of it and one of the Chinese lego-adjacent companies sells it now.

Yep! I think its made by Mould King. I am not a major supporter of counterfeit Lego but I have seen it from time to time and it has definitely challenged my integrity, especially for the price!

@@paulsoldner9500 I feel the same, if it’s their own intellectual property/design, then I’m with it. It’s Just a good amount of the time they tend to steal designs of Rebrickable and package and sell it, so you got to look after the little man too sometimes!

Black pearl is a great set but I really wish it was larger. The ship is too small compared to queen anne's revenge. And this may be nitpicking but from what I saw the lego cannibal designs are not based on any designs within the actual movie. They seem to be totally original designs which is annoying. Joshamee Gibbs was also the wrong colors but all the other figures were pretty much perfect. I just wish there were less stranger tides sets and more from the original three movies. There are a fair amount of important missing scenes and characters.

I originally had it at number 1 for a while but when I got into the details and noted the cleaner look versus the on screen version, it lost some accuracy points

i had the black pearl set as a kid and I loved it, one time my sisters friends older brother came over and said we shoudl destroy with with nerf guns, biggest regret of my life. Im trying to rebuyild it but its not going great...
