i actually disagree with erics civil war take. i feel like all of the characters decisions for their side is really in character based on previous movies and all the lines each character get are very deliberate and support their side even if its limited because of how many characters they can fit into 1 movie. the uncertainty aspect is shown through nats character who mentally is on iron mans side but in the moment cant go against her heart and one of her best friends being cap

it’s wild to me that Eric thinks the peter/gwen relationship was bad in the amazing Spider-Man films, it’s literally the saving grace for me in those ones.

Considering you guys agreed at the start that this ranking was specified to the MCU movies -- ranking each movie to each other, not to all movies in general -- I'd say the other guys were right to say there had to be an F, as "Worst MCU movie(s)." Eric's argument about "F = nothing redeemable" is an argument for all movies in general to me, and Inhumans isn't a part of the list (shrugs).

the thing about flash in homecoming is that hes not actually very popular. we never actually see anyone really give a shit about flash and it makes him a lot more believeable as a bully, he only picks on peter because hes just some dude and he feels like it makes him superior to him. they moved away from bullies being these weird jocks that everyone likes even though they're assholes cause those kind of people dont actually exist in real highschools anymore. you're much more likely to be bullied by just some random guy cause it makes him feel better about himself

I think the biggest issue with Civil War is that it feels less like an actual Civil War where everyone genuinely has a stake in the fight and there's some real ideological differences, in the end the movie ends up feeling like a Thanksigiving dinner argument/disagreement and a mild brawl in the parking lot. The comics civil war had far more stakes and everyone had clear reasons in actually fighting each other.

I think I agree with most of the things.. but No way Home is definitely not an S-Tier movie, compared to those already in S.. it's a mid-A, 3rd, after the Avengers 1 movie.. The hype and the old characters made it really fun, but the storyline and many other things, weigh them down, and compared to the ones at the top, it's definitely not close..

Regarding the bell curve discussion at the end, I don't think it needs to be one, however, you could make an SS tier and only put Infinity War in it which would almost accomplish your goal. I would personally also move Iron Man 3 and Doctor Strange to B, and Hulk to C, which would help even further. Keeping F and shifting everything except IW down would also accomplish the same goal. I don't feel any Marvel movie is worth an F. The track record they have been able to achieve over a 15 year period is incredible.

Dr Strange was NEVER Sorcerer Supreme in the MCU (1:57:38). EVERYBODY assumes, but he is never chosen or addressed as such in the MCU. His performance in Infinity War makes it seem so. At the end of his first movie he only is given a Sanctum, in NY, of which there are many with many protectors.

I don’t think making a mistake is out of character in fact I think it makes the character more relatable. Yeah it was dumb of strange to do that but it’s not like people irl don’t make mistakes even professionals make mistakes sometimes. So I had no problem with it whatsoever.

I hope they follow up on Mac Gargan. I’d have him unknowingly ship the symbiote from Mexico to a NY Demon warehouse during a drug/gun deal with Mr. Negative (SM4 villain). Introduce Black Cat, Human Torch, Yuri Watanabe, & some Defenders as his next supporting cast, + maybe a Cloak & Dagger cameo. Reed Richards can warn him about the symbiote like in the comics. Have Peter wear the suit for like half the movie, maybe in some crossover stuff, then in SM5 have JJJ launch the Scorpion Project secretly bankrolled by Hobgoblin (SM6 villain). The symbiote, Mr. Negative flashbacks, JJJ’s criticisms, & the Hobgoblin tease all leads to Spidey snapping at his allies & nearly killing Scorpion. He ditches the symbiote. I’d have Shocker come back as the alien’s weakness instead of the church bell. The symbiote bonds with Gargan & we get to see Michael Mando in a horror role as Venom. Shocker can sacrifice/redeem himself or Spidey can design his own shockwave suit to defeat his new arch rival in the final act. They could them do a whodunnit detective mystery about Hobgoblin to end the trilogy messing with Peter’s head. Bring back Ned & MJ. Have Ned be a red herring & gaslighted into being a decoy goblin thinking Spidey made his friend disappear. I’d like to see people like DD, Jessica Jones, Punisher, or Silver Sable on the hunt for his identity. You could then have it all build to Kingpin as the street-level big bad pulling strings the whole time. He could hire Black Cat to spy on Spidey & she switches sides later. He could make deals/partnerships with other the likes of Martin Li, Hammerhead, or Tombstone. Hobgoblin could become a villain out of hatred for Fisk (like everyone hating Osborn in the PS4 game). Have it lead to a Heroes for Hire crossover where Spidey, Kate, Echo, Punisher, & the Defenders have to take out Mayor Kingpin, the other mob bosses, & Sable International as his private security in a gang war.

There is plenty to dislike about the Andrew Garfield spiderman films but citing the relationship with Gwen? Saying they don't talk like real people??

I gotta agree with Erik on spiderman no way home. I rate it pretty high up there, but what Dr. Strange did in the beginning is uncharacteristically irresponsible with a spell that would effect millions of peoples memory right after his growth and experiences with his first movie, Infinity War, and Endgame. It's not a huge negative to the movie, but should still be noted.

Hear me out here. Now that EA and Marvel have a video game deal, in the same way that fallen order is canon to star wars, release a canon God of War style Gorr game that takes place during Love and Thunder where you’re just going around killing gods, learning things, filling in the blanks love and thunder didn’t show.

Coming back to this video a year later because it just dawned on me Rick must have had the tier system completely reversed. He thought "F" was "Fantastic", "E" was "Excellent", and "D" was "Dynamite". It's the only logical explanation.

I just graduated highschool when Homecoming came out, so it's interesting and understandable to see how our opinions on the MCU's version of Flash differ. I didn't necessarily go to a "nerd"/STEM school, but I felt that homecoming did a really good job portraying what a modern day bully to Peter Parker would be like. I knew tons of kids exactly like MCU Flash, whereas the kids more like the Rami and Webb Flash either kept to themselves or never really targeted kids like MCU Peter

I wish we could get a R-rated Midnight Sons horror movie. Wong could be the guy who assembles the team & guides from the background. Blade can lead on the battlefield. The roster could be: - Blade - Moon Knight - Black Knight - Werewolf by Night - Man-Thing - Elsa Bloodstone - Agatha Harkness Maybe if someone gets killed off, they could introduce Ghost Rider, Nightcrawler, or Magik. Nightmare would make a great villain. They could also send Wanda to Hell & have her meet the devil. Mephisto or Scarlet Witch would be the perfect big bad for the mystical/supernatural side of the MCU. Those 2 + Blade, Moon Knight, WBN, Man-Thing, & Ghost Rider could benefit from a mature setting. The MCU having an R-rated team would be money.

Doctor Strange was way out of character with the Spiderman spell. As a counter argument, Aaron brought up Strange rushing the very first surgery and saying the other surgeon can't do it. That is COMPLETELY different. The other surgeon had already screwed up and was going to harvest the guy for organs, and if Strange didn't do the surgery right then the man was going to die. There was zero reason to hurry and do the spell for Peter. No one was about to die. And as was pointed out, he was screwing with the memory of billions of people. And the whole movie was built on this out of character decision. And while there was fan service in this movie, it still can't compare to the moment in End Game.

Eric is so wrong about Dr. Strange in No Way Home. It's like he forgot so many details not only from that movie, but of all the other instances involving Strange. I'm usually fine with people having an opinion on whether or not they like something even if it's the opposite of nine, but when they start mischaracterizing a character and use that as the justification for their opinion that's when they lose me. Both Aaron and Calvin had good points, especially Calvin's. Eric clearly decided to dig in his heels even when faced with incontrovertible facts.

The problem i and many had with MOM is that there wasn't really a multiverse. Oooh a few scenes with a single group of heroes (the Illuminati) gtfo. A multiverse is an infinite thing and you visit one universe?

About the 1st Thor, almost everything on Asgard is a solid A movie in there. The look, acting, banter, etc. When they go back to earth/New Mexico though... it craters to such a mediocre movie bordering on low C. A shame. It could've been so much better.

I think it’s easy to take the RDJ’s Tony Stark and the overall tone of the Infinity Saga for granted. When you realize that the first Iron Man movie created all of that, I think you need to give it a high A at least

Eternals wouldn’t have worked as a series. 1 It would be to expensive. 2 They would have to lower the scale to fit the budget. 3 Nobody would subscribe to Disney+ to watch it the Eternals are insanely obscure characters.

I actually think when they do this they should get rid of the letter grades. That's how I did my list. That way the worst Marvel is at the bottom without being an F or a C or whatever, it's just the worst Marvel movie.

Most people's problem with Multiverse of Madness is that it has Multiverse in the title and they only go to like 3 or 4 universes.

As far as Doctor Strange in Far From Home, I don’t understand Eric and Rick’s issue with Doctor Strange. Stephen Strange has always have been a very reckless and arrogant character. He tries things without thinking them through all the time and his arrogance lends itself to that. He believes he can do anything and doesn’t think about the consequences. He tried a million different surgeries without thinking through the consequences, he grabbed the Time Stone and tried time manipulation spells without thinking or reading about the possible consequences, then did them anyway despite knowing the consequences. He brings the time stone into Thanos’ vicinity and into the vicinity of Thanos’ disciples instead of running away or properly hiding it. And that was before he checked to see how many possible outcomes they could win. Then there’s Far From Home, and he’s plenty reckless in Multiverse of Madness.
