NFSU2 is, in all honesty, my favorite driving game ever to exist. The physics are awesome, the cars are sweet, the tuning is cool, the soundtrack is INCREDIBLE, and there's no game I've ever played that could beat its fun factor.

Most Wanted 2005 is just so smooth, the engine is amazing.

Actually Ghost games planned alot for Heat, but due to EA typical fashion of closing down studios+ the Pandemic, thats why Heat lacks some post games update (despite being a good NFS game)

Actually ghost wanted to expand more of nfs heat but due to EA being EA and due to the pandemic they closed down ghost games after the game was released and they handed the franchise back to criterion.

What I find lacking in Most Wanted is difficulty selection because if you are somewhat experienced with racing games you breeze through the game in a few days. Meanwhile, right now I'm trying Underground 2 on hard difficulty and I'm struggling. ProStreet is giving me a run for my money too. The start of the campaign is easy but once you progress further into the carrer it gets tough. With Most Wanted lacking drift and Carbon lacking drag, I preffer ProStreet over them both. I don't dislike Underground 1 per say, I just find it too repetitive. I never really had condition to afford anything past Playstation 2 and only recently adquired a more potent PC, so I'm yet to try any of the recent Need for Speed titles (I have only ever played from U1 to ProStreet, really). Based on your commentary, I'm looking forward to try Need for Speed 2015, Heat and 2010's Hot Pursuit eventually.

In my opinion, Payback could have been an amazing game if it had the customization of Heat and Unbound. The location had so much potential.

In regards to heat, the game was going to get a lot more content monthly, however the pandemic hit and that put any updates they had planned on hold, then about 5ish months later EA pulled the studio who are responsible for heat put them on other projects, it was appointed that EA planned to have Criterion games come in and make a new racing game or create updates for heat. I have a feeling the next NFS game will be a shell of what heat was since all the racing games Criterion put out during their time with NFS where all about exotics and no fun tuning or building your own ride. However this next few years will be looking pretty good as far as racing games go, with a new test drive and new midnight club on the way this should put some pressure on other studios to start putting more into their games rather then it being the same thing on a new map *cough cough forza cough cough*. hopefully we will get some racing games that bring back the feel of some of the racing games of the 2000s. story, unlock progression, with tuning and customization. PS im still waiting for the day we get a game with physics like forza but story of a NFS game with a car building system where you get to build the car your self just like in street legal racing redline

Nice video, I started with the PS1 version of Porsche Unleashed when I was a kid and being the stupid idiot that I am I didn't realize it was a NFS back then. I wasn't much into the Black Box era of NFS, but then I played Carbon and I had tons of fun with it, my favourite out of all. As for your accent, I think it is very interesting, I kind of really like it to be honest, it's different from what I've heard before, really smooth and quite elegant actually.

Underground 2 was launched at the pinnacle of tunning culture, magazines, fast and furious movies....aaah the good old times. That's the main reason why they never released an "HD" version of it. Due to it's superior graphics, Interactive and addictive story, badass rivals method, racing for the pink slips, tuning, presence of super cars, amazing cut scenes(tbh it looks like a movie) , Badass razor, sexy mia(tbh that's one of the reasons I like this game so much lol), mad cops, Sergent cross and also the milestones events with destructable environment made this game a perfect combo pack. Mark my words, no any racing game can touch this level

I respect that this is your list, but I do want to say something about the first couple of Need For Speed games. They couple where not meant as arcade racers that they became starting with NFSIII. the very first was actually considered a racing simulator. The second was a bit of an in between game. But when you said that you didn't like having to brake in almost every corner, that was because they were trying (not necessarily succeeding) at trying to be more realistic. Again this is your list and you not liking having to do that is ok. Just wanted to let you know why it was a thing.

I play NFS Underground 2 since 8 years, almost every day. It never gets boring to test new mods and play the career mode again for your own 100% save games. It has the most beautiful city, I prefer it's handling over Most Wanted and like this game the most. Personally Most Wanted is the 2nd best NFS game to me. :)

This may seem a bit strange, but here is an addition from a fan of MW2012. Microtransactions in my eyes, ruin everything and strangely(else I didn't notice the true number) DLCs cost more than the actual game itself. And yeah, the ones who still play online are mostly mad psychopaths on Bugatti and Koenigsegg, slamming into you at any moment.

Great work with narration. You can add some background music to enhance it. As for list, it's great. Glad to see NFS III and IV getting some love, they still get mods today. PS2 version of Hot Pursuit 2 is entirely a different game, and easily top 5. I'd perhaps disagree with few games. Underground 1 feels barebones and Carbon has lot of odd systems that don't make a good overall experience.

People rate underground 2 so high just because of nostalgia. I know that game was ahead of its time. And i had best time ever playing that game at those times. But Carbon And Most Wanted is better by a lightyears in every aspect.

I played the PS2 version and the PC version of Undercover. Both are completely different games. Mods like the Reformed mod completely redeem Undercover in my eyes.

Carbon, Rivals and UG1 are the best games in this franchise in my opinion. UG2 and MW05 are good games but in my opinion there were some flaws about them aswell. UG2 had a openworld but it was very hollow and it was very boring to travel in that openworld. MW05 had a great sense of speed but it suffers from terrible rubberbanding and bounty system. Dont get me wrong tho. I still like those two games... -Edit: Enjoyed your vid. Dont be afraid to make more 👍

Missing Porsche Challenge and High Stakes. (Both PS1). Porsche Challenge sucked, but High Stakes introduced the car purchasing and upgrading system, vehicle damage, and extended career mode. The tracks did get repetitive as you'd have to race them in every championship, but new tracks and cars would be unlocked as you progressed. The tracks could be raced forwards, backwards, mirrored, and during day or night. High Stakes, NFS2, NFS3 Hot Pursuit, Hot Pursuit 2, Pro Street, and The Run were my favorites.

I prefer: Underground. Underground 2. Most wanted. Carbon. Pro street. Why? Because these titles have no freshness, micro transactions, and the most important factor! WORK WITHOUT INTERNET !!!!

Payback is my favorite!!! Yes, the building mechanics suck, but the racing is amazing!!! Speedx rocks!!! The online speedlist is flawless 👌🏼

i feel like nfsu2 is so overrated. altough the physics and the costumization available are good, the game loop is so bad. super long races, money rewards are low, the game forces u to have certain visual parts so u can get ur visual rating higher, u spen a lot of time driving just to get to the races. as someone who only played underground 2 recently the game didnt feel that good to play, its boring to a certain degree. not too say that game is bad, cause its not, its just overrated due too nostalgia

Sad how they never did nfsmw 2005 great again... They tried it three times: 2008 Undercover and it was straight trash with bugs and nfs world was just like the same game and didn’t get so much hype than the 2005 one and 2012 nfsmw and it was such a disaster bc it was nothing like nfsmw2005 and was sadly criterion’s last game :( I really miss criterion

I personally believe while this game is outdated, it's definitely still really thrilling and fun to play. The handling is atrocious compared to modern games that's true, but that's actually the fun part for me. It's adding some challenge and satisfaction when you beat a Ferrari F50 in a Ferrari F355 in 3 laps around Mystic Peaks. Also the soundtrack is still godlike so I believe there's definitely worse (modern) games than this. 20: Funny, Undercover was actually one of my favorite NFS games. I personally never experienced any bugs whatsoever (the game crashed once after 5 hours of gameplay but that's about it) and the story is usually forgettable in NFS games anyway. Even the wacky handling is something you can get used to with a little practice, and is incredibly fun. It feels like driving a go-kart with a rocket strapped to it. Maybe it's the fact that I like unrealistic handling in games as long as I have a smile on my face. The only real issue I have with this game is that the graphics could have been better for a game of its time. I know you can turn off this nasty blur effect but still. 19: Totally agree. 18: Didn't play it. 17: Mostly agree. I mean the game is a broken mess from a technical point of view (I even fell through the ground sometimes) but EA got so close to the perfect formula with this game. The fact that you can play as a racer AND a cop, choose to race ingame, compete against your friends and use weapons etc. is such an incredibly good and fun idea, and it's a shame it didn't get a quality remaster. 16: Didn't play them. 15: Mostly agree. The game could have been longer (or at least appropriate to the time ACTUALLY required to travel from San Francisco to New York). The Multiplayer is fun but pretty laggy at times, and you'll constantly hear the microphone rustling from other players. The handling is something to get used to, especially in the El Camino. 14: Didn't play it. 13: Mostly agree. I didn't play the game until 2018 so I couldn't really experience how Pay 2 Win it was. I personally believe this is the best Need For Speed game of all time. Good music, great graphics, fun cars, and I can drive some of my favorite cars in the world. I actually think this game is much better than its predecessor. 2: Only played it for an hour or two at a friend. Might buy it someday. 1: Ah, just as I expected. The most overrated NFS game is at the top. Honestly this game got so boring after playing it through for like the 4th time. The police is incredibly stupid, the races are very repetitive and long, the graphics and the yellow bloom effect were straight up terrible. Oh and the soundtrack... so edgy, tasteless and poorly chosen. I never understood why so many people love this game when Carbon and Underground got so many things right/better instead.

I think Payback gets to much hate. If you didn’t enjoy it at release you should replay it since now it’s honestly pretty fun since you can have lots of fun without loot boxes or anything. Multiplayer is a fun and addicting haha

There are few typos in the subtitles/text at the bottom and you mispronounced some of the words, but overall it's a great video. If I'd have to rank the NfS games, my list would probably be close to this - maybe with few entries swapped. :) You clearly did your research and spent a lot of time on this video, but there's one thing I'd like to point out: the official name of the 4th NfS game is "Need for Speed: High Stakes", not "NfS: Road Challenge". Basically, the game was called "Road Challenge" in some european countries and "Over Drivin' IV" in Japan, while it was named "High Stakes" in the rest of the world.

I just really loved the handling on Need For Speed Most Wanted 2012 (And finished i had played old nfs but only in Arcades)😅 that's the first one I played and when trying other older NFSs I couldn't stop spinning out, especially on Underground 2 and Most Wanted

As a player that has played nfs no limits for many years, most cars are only unlockable through events although the PvP mode makes it a tad bit easier, and gold crate every 2 days, and chop shop but yeah lots of microtransactions.

I play Nfs Undercover on ps3 and i agree with you, the games bugs and crash A LOT, everytime i change my car and go back on the street, the map don't load and two things might happen: 1- the game falls into the void if i accelerate but i can fix this by starting the nearest race. 2- the game crashes. The AI is kinda crappy aswell like you said, sometimes if feels like the pilots are not even trying and the other times its like you're racing online with the best racers of the world, the NPC cars is bad too, if you happen to run into one its like you hit a wall, same goes with the opponents and the police cars aswell, speaking of police, their spawning is quite odd too, sometimes when you hear them talking about you nobody is here and the other times they are too much of them, and most of the time they will react everytime you're not on the road or if you happen to ram into a NPC or even worse if even a NPC rams into you (yes it can happen, it did to me a lot) But i played it so much that i started to get used to it At least it isn't that bad as Most Wanted 2012

Rivals is GOOD not BAD, rivals is quite good compared to most games I’ve played, also it’s one of the only nfs games to give free dlc that’s still free to this day the koenigsegg one:1 you need to be rank 21+ on either cops or racer if you are a lower rank on cop you can get it on race and get the koenigsegg later as a cop.

Gonna say for need for speed nitro you REALLY want to play that game with a wii remote and on the original console. Like with F-Zero on the N64, you're going to get issues with the inputs if you don't play it on the original hardware.
