Brawl was my first game ever. It's sad to see Sakurai leave but what he left us with is more than we could ever ask for

It really makes me sad to see people in other videos ranking Terry's trailers so low, seeing all those SNK characters in their original pixel art bit designs, all chasing that smash invitation (and even dying/recreating iconic scenes while at it) before it falls dramatically to the floor. All for Terry Bogard to pick it up. Its stylish, extremely nostalgic for SNK fans, and had an amazing build up to the actual fighter. And tbh, a lot of Ultimate's reveals were amazing: Ridley's trailer was an epic escalation to a character everyone knew exactly who it was, but couldn't believe actually made it. Having Megaman and Mario _literally murdered_ just added to the already immaculate moment. Sora's trailer was the last key opening the final door to Ultimate's lifespan, giving the game and all the characters one last ride before they go. It was truly magical, especially with Simple and Clean running in the background with Sora flying in the air as if he's saying "yeah, this is real." Sephiroth's was an absolute nightmare, having debatingly the greatest buildup to any trailer by having Galeem, the boss of Ultimate that pretty much defeated the entire cast except for Kirby, being killed in _one shot,_ and all of the characters (including us the viewers) gasping, waiting in expectance to see who it was only for _one wing angel_ to start playing. The amount of Advent Children references, callbacks, and straight up frame by frame scenes with that Cloud vs Sephiroth scene (and Italian barbeque) just being perfection. And finally, Joker. While his reveal might not be the absolute favorite among most fans; I love it not just because of the character, but it was one of the only characters to not let the viewer know it was Smash until the reveal. Just having Joker running around in P5s beautiful art aesthetic, his teammates getting ready for another infiltration, only for Joker to flip the envelop to reveal a smash logo. It is simply perfection. No other reveal had that type of ambiguity because the rest were in a direct/smash presentation, meaning that people either knew it was a smash reveal no matter what (Byleth, Min-Min), or somewhat expected it (Isabel, Pyra). Joker on the other hand, was at the Game Awards, where Smash announcements never happened. Ultimate being released _the next day_ was just the cherry on top and why its number 1 for me.

Honestly I loved Jokers Reveal. I thinks it's slept on.

The Sora trailer was brilliant, and I say this as somebody that has no attachment to Kingdom Hearts or Sora...the way it reminds us that this is and always has been us being able to live out the dream as a kid, where you mix your action figures together and have character fights that can't otherwise exist. They're all here, but it's time to put the toys back in the box, because all things eventually end...except nope - Sora is here, reminding us that we should always keep that imaginative part of ourselves alive. Makes me tear up a bit, Smash is just amazing.

As a Fire Emblem fan, the Byleth reveal was huge for me, no to mention the bathtub of salty tears I got from Twitter. Loved it amd love Byleth

Master Chief would’ve been such a unique and fun fighter.

I still find it hilarious how basically everyone in the smash community had a temper tantrum about Byleth’s inclusion and I didn’t even play or care about FE / Byleth but I was still like in the small minority one who didn’t hate them at the time of the announcement

Master chief would have been cool for the end with the halo theme

In my opinion, nothing was even close to being as cool as Steve. He was the reason I play Smash Ultimate.

As someone who has played xenoblade chronicles 2 I do like the edition of Pyra and Mythra. I don’t think there trailer was hype compared to sora or Steve, but they definitely deserved a spot. Their move sets are interesting as all of there special attacks are from the game. Honestly to anyone who says that they were a wasted spot I would disagree. They probably should have been added in the base game or very early DLC since when they were announced the game was like 3 years old.

If someone like the knight or hornet (from hollow knight) were revealed instead of Byleth i would've considered the smash bros dlc's perfect (except maybe Min Min. and Pyra/Mythra). We can only dream i guess 😔.

Also keep in mind Joker got like two trailers, the initial one, and then the breakdown, both were so hype

I think i would argue that Isabel could be low A tear because with her announcement so came the announcement that a new Animal crossing was coming soon. I don’t think there has ever been a smash character announcement tide with a new game from where the character comes from.

The reason why Min Min wasn’t added sooner was due to the fact ARMS released mid development of Smash Ultimate and fighter pass 1 was already picked out. Same thing for Xenoblade 2.
