Ranking EVERY Song in Hazbin Hotel

With hazbin hotel having finally released and giving myself a couple weeks for everything to settle, i thought i’d make a video ranking all the songs in season 1. There’s 16 songs in total, so i’ll go episode by episode and rank them from S tier to D tier. S being my personal favourites, and D being awful. I’ll start off by saying the soundtrack was very good, so expect alot of high rankings. I’ll have some concluding thoughts at the end as well.

I agree with you! "While the rest of hell's pissing!" "Alastor's missing!" All that final segment was powerful, I don't know why. Hearing their voices together makes me desperate for a whole song.

I think people were split on "Poison" because it was difficult to watch Angel sing about his trauma immediately after that scene with Val. I know I felt that way on my first viewing, but I think it holds up. This soundtrack had no right to be as good as it was. My personal favorites are "Respectless" and "More than Anything." In season 2, I hope Cherri gets her own song.

Yeah, Poison is sinfully good! I was listening to it on an hourly basis and even got mad addicted to the song after first hearing it, but I feel so bad for Angel when reflecting on that song. But it hits so deep because of how realistic and relatable it can be to people who actually go through or have gone through sexual abuse. I also noticed how in the second half of the song, where angel starts dancing with these two wolves or dog-looking demons, they're both in only black except their eyes, this probably implies that Angel Dust is the only one who truly stands out to Val and explains why he personally "favors" and overworks him.

I thought poison was good before the show came out but when I actually saw it in the show I think it made me love it more because now I’m seeing it in a different light. Definitely really sad though

I feel like the only person who loves "Ready For This". The sound palette is awesome and it's so rewarding to see Charlie move forward in confidence. Has some nice rhymes as well. I think it's Charlie's best song.

I love it to! When I first watched it I actually thought it was terrible but on just my 1st rewatch I fell in love with it, the only part of the song I don't really like was the tapping part up to Alastor's first line!

I'm gonna have to hard-disagree on Ready for This, that's one of the best songs in the series, and my personal favourite. The only "underwhelming" thing about it was the visuals, but just judging it as a song, it's an absolute banger. In fact, I've seen people who overall really disliked the show say that it was an exception.

I love whatever it takes it conveys whatever someone will do for love be it romantic or platonic and last I checked having a singing voice that’s different than your normal voice is not exactly a once on a life time phenomenon

Also, I believe Vaggie has a different voice because she‘s hiding her emotional, „weaker“ side all the time. Up until this point we haven‘t seen he going soft, this song is the first time we learn about her absolute loyalty to Charlie. It‘s in this song she, for the first time, shows her emotions, which is why I love this song.

Almost totally agree, except for „Whatever It Takes“, this is a clear middle ground, if not good song for me, both because it explains a lot of the two characters’ motivations (we haven‘t learned about Vaggie‘s devotion to Charlie before, we only know it because we‘re longtime fans), as well as because of the amazing voices. In fact, I think Vaggie sounding differently when singing may even be on purpose, because she‘s keeping up an emotional shield all the time, and only in song she‘s able to let go and show he softer side.

I feel like the middle section is where it falls a little flat for a lot of people, however for me I like it because although it changes the tempo of the song, it a reference to how the idea of war was sold to people who were signing up, especially before the days of TV and radio

I feel like I’m the only one who likes ‘Whatever It Takes’. I know that it may of been too early for the songs. But the song; after hearing it a few more times, feels more meaningful and soothing than what you feel when you think of it as a “filler song.”

I personally love Whatever It Takes. It’s a top 5 song for me and does not deserve all the hate it gets. Especially when people hate on it for dumb reasons like Vaggie’s singing voice sounding together different.

For me, the worst part of Hell’s Greatest Dad, is after the epic music solos, it doesn’t have the same energy as the beginning and kinda falls. I love Mimzy and her part. It shows off her brash personality and it’s fun to sing and listen to.

My personal favorite songs are (in no particular order), You didnt know, More than Anything (original), and honesty, Whatever it takes I dont understand why everyone shits on that song so much, i think its amazing, and Vaggie's voice and Carmilla's voice clash so well, and it leads me to wonder if Carmilla also might be an angel too/related to vaggie, since that would mean 2 of the three songs she sings include Vaggie

Hsntly, Poison is an S for me, and my favorite song in the entire soundtrack. It depicts substance abuse and coping with sexual trauma as a hipersexual person perfectly. It shows how people who have been SA'd can try so hard to put on that mask and façade like everything's fine, and watching it right after that brutal scene with Valentino, it took my breath away. It's raw, terrifying, and the ending is just heartbreaking. Plus, it's easily the most replayable out of the entire soundtrack, it sounds amazing. Also, getting Loser baby later that same episode leaves a very hopeful tone.

I completely disagree with you about Whatever it Takes. It is one of my favourite songs and probably my third favourite, though third spot on my favourite ranking has been shifting lol. My first favourite is You Didn't Know, the angel courtroom in general is my favourite part of the series, and I absolutely love Charlie and Emily the 2 nicest characters singing so defiantly together, and fod damn Lute's part was so good too! My second favourite is More Than Anything because I absolutely love Charlie and Lucifer connecting, Lucifer sortof explaining how traumatic it was for him when he stood up to the angels before and how despite their absence in eachother's lives, Charlie was inspired by and grew up to be a lot like her dad, with inspiring dreams for the future

You Didn't Know is one of my favourite things about musical theater, lyrical dialogue. Done right, like Hazbin here did, it's always SUCH an interesting piece of music. Personally I think my top favourite song is More Than Anything, but that's just because I am both a daddy's girl and a parent myself so it really hits home for me.

I personally love “Whatever It Takes”. In my opinion it is the most underrated song in the show and is honestly an S-Tier for me. I really don’t get all of the hate for it. Both Carmilla and Vaggie have incredible voices and they work so well together for me.

I think "Ready for this" and the finale are both really important parts for Charlie as a character, as they truely are the first moments of her realizing that she Just can't fix everything by being nice, if the other side doesn't care about that. Ready for this is the first time that she really steps in as a leader in a fight and the finale is (in her part) about not giving up and keep going, no matter if it hurts

Hard to pick but right now I guess my favorite is between Poison and Finale. Most underrated song goes to Happy Day in Hell. I think its an excellent opening number. It reminds me of an ensemble opening in a Disney film like "Belle" in Beauty and the Beast and "The Family Madrigal" in Encanto. It perfectly establishes who Charlie is and the challenges she faces in proving sinners are redeemable. It was the show's answer to her song in the pilot. I find "Loser Baby" the most overrated number. While I like the bonding moment I just couldn't get into the song. But so many fans picked it their number 1 over Stayed Gone, Poison and Hell's Greatest Dad ( like that you chose this one as your fav). I think people loved it so much because of shipping and its the only time Keith David sings aside from being part of the group in Finale. I guess the style just wasn't to my taste. Its one of the few songs I didn't add to my Spotify along with Welcome to Heaven and Starts with Sorry.

Honestly, I don't know why nobody is talking about this, but Ready for This just shows how good Alastor knows the people of Cannibal Town, as unless if he mentioned being able to eat the Angels, Charlie could've kept singing as long as she wanted but it wouldn't have mattered, they would be uninterested, however, when the idea of angel flesh is thrown in, suddenly, they're ready to fight

My three fav are: 1. Stayed gone(such an upbeat and catchy tune!Really showing Vox and Alastor's rivalry) 2. Hell's greatest dad(kinda like stayed gone but more fun! If only Mimzy hadn't crashed in!!) 3. Loser,baby(I just love it because it makes me think of HuskxAngel dust!)

The thumbnail where "Hell's Greatest Dad" is in F tier but is in S tier and even top 3 (if ordered) on the actual video is a good definition of "got us on the first half." also the violin solo is probably my favorite part of the song,

I'd say Hell's Greatest Dad is my fourth or fifth favorite song in the series for me. If I'm being honest, Ready for This easily takes the spot as my favorite song in the series.

Ready for This deserves S tier tbh, switching the theme of the song to a 1940s American war song really made the song into a final march into battle. Charlie's part felt sweet but self-motivated. The song really gave the feeling as if the captain of an army is motivating them to win a war, which was the whole point of the song. I would put Stayed Gone on A or B, even though it was absolutely amazing, Vox's voice sometimes went out of rhythm, and when Vox loses his signal is just a bad cut-off in my opinion. More Than Anything Reprise really doesn't deserve such a high ranking, reusing the song is some lazy work, and like a lot of other things, this song is a special bond song between Father and Daughter (which isn't the only song they have in common). The rest seems pretty fair to me

I didn’t think there were any duds when it came to the music in season 1 of Hazbin Hotel. In fact I like each song so I don’t have a personal top 10 favorites. I do have my top 6 though. 1. Poison 2. Loser, Baby 3. More Than Anything 4. Hell’s Greatest Dad 5. Stayed Gone 6. You Didn’t Know
