He is literally perfect from episode 1 Never loses a duel, never learns anything, is always lecturing everyone around him (both friends and foes) because he is just THAT superior intelectually speaking and solves every problem by himself alone. His card playing style is very technical and his deck has super good synergy compared to Yugi and Jaden’s mishmash of brick cards carried by plot armor

Yuya duels to have fun and entertain others. That's why he's a LOT more charismatic compared to playmaker. I find him entertaining but it's the execution of his character in later seasons that why some haters hate him. I watch the whole Arc v and I still like him as a character.

People think Yusei is perfect and that’s it, but he had to work for it. He had to build his deck, his runner, formulate a plan to integrate into the City, and he did it without having a shop that contained rare cards or a fancy duel school that taught him. He had to learn on his own and acheive “perfection” And to be honest he’s not perfect as there have been situations where he was scared to duel and situations where he believed he should rely on his friends and self-sacrifice

Just because a character is "strong" doesn't mean they are better.

Cause he's so generic. His character, his deck..it's all just the same stuff we've seen over and over. Overly optimistic boy. The only scenes he felt interesting were where he wasn't even himself. And his deck was just..not interesting to watch. The show would have benefited from Yuto being the protag.
